Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
Guidance is the primary objective of the Noble Qur'an.
The believers ask their Lord for guidance to the Straight Path in every prayer.
Through their recitation in Al-Fatihah, Allah the Almighty says:
"Guide us to the Straight Path."
So, if we reflect on the opening of Surah Al-Baqarah immediately thereafter,
we find in it Allah the Almighty's saying:
“This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).” (2:2)
It is as if the verse answers the believers' supplication
by stating that the way of guidance is to embrace this Noble Book,
to ponder its contents, and to act upon it.
And what confirms this
is the mention of numerous verses with this objective.
Among these is Allah the Almighty's saying:
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.” (2:185)
And His saying the Almighty:
"Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most right and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds."
And the affirmation of the believers from the People of the Book regarding this,
Allah the Almighty says:
“Those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the truth and leadeth unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise.” (34:6)

And the affirmation of the believers from the Jinn regarding this,
Allah the Almighty says:
“Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an,” (72:1)
They said, "Indeed, we have heard a wondrous Qur'an."
“Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord.” (72:2)

So, the primary objective of the Noble Qur'an
is the guidance of the two weighty things,
humankind and the Jinn.
This is through its content of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and beliefs,
rulings and laws,
etiquette and morals,
and lessons and admonitions.
