WEBVTT 00:00:00.180 --> 00:00:08.699 A summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah. 00:00:08.699 --> 00:00:12.439 Hypocrisy is of two types. 00:00:12.439 --> 00:00:17.440 Hypocrisy is of two types: major hypocrisy and minor hypocrisy. 00:00:17.440 --> 00:00:22.469 Major hypocrisy is also called creedal hypocrisy. 00:00:22.469 --> 00:00:30.469 This type expels its adherent from the Ummah and will place them in the lowest level of the Fire in the Hereafter, if they die upon it. 00:00:30.469 --> 00:00:39.469 Its reality is that a person outwardly professes belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree, 00:00:39.469 --> 00:00:43.469 while inwardly concealing what contradicts all of that, or some of it. 00:00:43.469 --> 00:00:48.469 This is the hypocrisy that existed during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:00:48.469 --> 00:00:54.469 The Qur'an was revealed to warn against it, condemn its adherents, and declare them disbelievers. 00:00:55.469 --> 00:01:03.469 “That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed so that they understand not.” (63:3) 00:01:03.469 --> 00:01:07.540 They are more severe in disbelief and enmity than outright disbelievers. 00:01:07.540 --> 00:01:12.540 As Allah the Almighty said about them: "They are the enemy, so beware of them." 00:01:12.540 --> 00:01:16.629 Among the most important forms of major hypocrisy and the characteristics of its adherents are: 00:01:17.629 --> 00:01:25.629 First, enmity towards the believers, as mentioned in the preceding verse, and hatred of their victory over the disbelievers. 00:01:25.629 --> 00:01:31.629 Second, hatred of the Messenger, peace be upon him, and what he brought. 00:01:31.629 --> 00:01:35.629 And turning away from him, harming him, or criticizing and slandering him. 00:01:35.629 --> 00:01:42.730 Third, joy and delight at the defeat of the Muslims and the decline of their religion. 00:01:42.730 --> 00:01:50.730 Fourth, mocking the believers because of their faith and their obedience to the Messenger, peace be upon him. 00:01:50.730 --> 00:01:58.730 Fifth, slandering Islamic law and describing it as harsh and contradictory to humanity, 00:01:58.730 --> 00:02:01.730 and not suitable for our time. 00:02:01.730 --> 00:02:08.759 Sixth, siding with the disbelievers and loving their legislation which contradicts Allah's law. 00:02:08.759 --> 00:02:13.759 Seventh, loving the victory of the disbelievers over the Muslims. 00:02:13.759 --> 00:02:22.860 And how clear these characteristics are in the hypocrites of our time, be they politicians, media figures, secularists, or liberals. 00:02:22.860 --> 00:02:28.860 They claim to love their homeland, but in reality, they are enemies of the homeland and its interests, 00:02:28.860 --> 00:02:34.860 by their loyalty to its enemies and their enmity towards Allah's law and those who call to it. 00:02:34.860 --> 00:02:38.860 And by their spreading of corruption and indecency among the sons of the Ummah, 00:02:38.860 --> 00:02:44.860 and by corrupting their religion, their souls, their minds, their wealth, and their honor. 00:02:44.860 --> 00:02:52.020 Major hypocrisy occurs if its adherent does not manifest it except in the tone of speech. 00:02:52.020 --> 00:02:56.020 However, if they manifest the preceding nullifiers and call to them, 00:02:56.020 --> 00:03:01.020 then at that point, they become apostates, and the rulings of an apostate apply to them. 00:03:02.180 --> 00:03:06.180 Minor hypocrisy is also called practical hypocrisy. 00:03:06.180 --> 00:03:11.180 This is when a person exhibits some of the characteristics and deeds of the hypocrites, 00:03:11.180 --> 00:03:14.180 while still possessing the fundamental basis of faith. 00:03:14.180 --> 00:03:17.180 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, warned 00:03:17.180 --> 00:03:20.180 about the most dangerous of these characteristics, saying: 00:03:20.180 --> 00:03:22.180 "There are three signs of a hypocrite: 00:03:22.180 --> 00:03:25.180 when he speaks, he lies; 00:03:25.180 --> 00:03:27.180 when he makes a promise, he breaks it; 00:03:27.180 --> 00:03:29.180 and when he is entrusted, he betrays." 00:03:30.180 --> 00:03:33.210 And the Prophet, peace be upon him, also said: 00:03:34.210 --> 00:03:38.210 "Whoever has four characteristics will be a pure hypocrite, 00:03:38.210 --> 00:03:41.210 and whoever has one characteristic from them 00:03:41.210 --> 00:03:45.210 will have a characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it: 00:03:45.210 --> 00:03:47.210 when he is entrusted, he betrays;
