Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah The meaning of belief in the messengers Belief in the messengers is the firm conviction that Allah Almighty sent His messengers and prophets to convey His religion to humanity and guide them to it, and that they are truthful in what they convey from their Lord, the Exalted. This necessitates belief in all that Allah Almighty has informed us about them in His Book, or through the tongue of His chosen Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Just as it necessitates affirming the names of those who were mentioned by name, as for those whose names were not mentioned or whose stories with their people were not detailed, we believe in them in general terms. As Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, We sent messengers before you." “Verily We sent messengers before thee, among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright, and the followers of vanity will then be lost.” (40:78) Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
