00:00:00.460 --> 00:00:03.459
The Garden of Guidance.

00:00:03.459 --> 00:00:07.969
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:

00:00:07.969 --> 00:00:30.579
“Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters,” (41:6)

00:00:30.579 --> 00:00:33.579
And on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him),

00:00:33.579 --> 00:00:37.579
that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

00:00:37.579 --> 00:00:44.670
"When a servant commits a sin, a black spot is etched onto his heart.

00:00:44.670 --> 00:00:47.670
But if he desists, seeks forgiveness, and repents,

00:00:47.670 --> 00:00:49.670
his heart is polished clean.

00:00:49.670 --> 00:00:54.670
Yet if he returns to sin, it increases until it envelops his heart.

00:00:54.670 --> 00:00:57.670
And that is the rust which Allah mentioned:

00:00:57.670 --> 00:00:59.670
'No! Rather, the stain has covered [their hearts]...'"

00:00:59.670 --> 00:01:03.670
“Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts.” (83:14)

00:01:03.670 --> 00:01:05.670
Narrated by at-Tirmidhi.

00:01:05.670 --> 00:01:08.790
A Point of Benefit:

00:01:08.790 --> 00:01:11.790
On the authority of 'Asim Ibn Raja' Ibn Haywah, who said:

00:01:11.790 --> 00:01:15.790
'Umar Ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz used to deliver sermons saying:

00:01:15.790 --> 00:01:17.790
"O people!

00:01:17.790 --> 00:01:19.790
Whoever falls into a sin,

00:01:19.790 --> 00:01:21.790
let him seek Allah's forgiveness and repent.

00:01:21.790 --> 00:01:23.790
If he repeats it,

00:01:23.790 --> 00:01:26.790
let him seek Allah's forgiveness and repent.

00:01:26.790 --> 00:01:27.790
If he repeats it again,

00:01:27.790 --> 00:01:30.790
let him seek Allah's forgiveness and repent.

00:01:30.790 --> 00:01:35.790
For they are merely sins bound around the necks of men,

00:01:35.790 --> 00:01:40.790
and utter ruin lies only in persisting in them."
