00:00:00.690 --> 00:00:03.690
A verse and its Tafsir.

00:00:03.690 --> 00:00:07.839
Allah the Exalted says:

00:00:07.839 --> 00:00:13.839
"Allah presents the example of two men: one of them is dumb [abkam],"

00:00:13.839 --> 00:00:20.120
The abkam is a person who was born mute.

00:00:20.120 --> 00:00:22.120
Its plural form is bukm.

00:00:22.120 --> 00:00:24.120
The Exalted says:

00:00:24.120 --> 00:00:26.120
"Deaf, dumb [bukm],"

00:00:26.120 --> 00:00:29.120
Thus, every abkam is mute.

00:00:29.120 --> 00:00:31.120
But not every mute person is an abkam.

00:00:31.120 --> 00:00:34.119
For whoever was able to speak,

00:00:34.119 --> 00:00:36.119
And then lost the ability to do so,

00:00:36.119 --> 00:00:39.119
Is considered mute, not abkam.

00:00:39.119 --> 00:00:41.409
The text between the brackets,

00:00:41.409 --> 00:00:43.409
Is from the vocabulary of the Qur'an,

00:00:43.409 --> 00:00:45.409
By al-Raghib al-Isfahani.
