I am one of the Companions, a prominent figure among the Ansar, and one of their leaders at the Second Pledge of 'Aqabah.

I took part in the Battles of Badr and Uhud,

So I went to him and advised him to return,

I charged toward the polytheists with total eagerness, longing for martyrdom.

I was the very first to be slain in the battle,

My sister wept over me,

Then they buried me at the site of the battle.

After that, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, spoke to me directly without any veil.

"Wish, My servant!

Ask Me, and I shall give you whatever you desire."

And this virtue was not established for anyone other than me.

Forty-six years later, a flood came and unearthed some of the graves,

They found me in my grave as if I were asleep,

and blood gushed out as if I had just been killed that very hour.

So they returned my hand to its place,
