00:16:18.740 --> 00:16:20.740 We must understand 00:16:20.740 --> 00:16:22.740 Indeed, the scholars 00:16:22.740 --> 00:16:24.740 They established the five essential objectives. 00:16:24.740 --> 00:16:26.740 What must be preserved 00:16:26.740 --> 00:16:28.740 are one's religion, intellect, 00:16:28.740 --> 00:16:30.740 wealth, honor, 00:16:30.740 --> 00:16:32.740 and life; and they have said 00:16:32.740 --> 00:16:34.740 that all of these are a sacrifice for the sake of religion. 00:16:34.740 --> 00:16:36.740 So, let the energies of the intellect be employed, 00:16:36.740 --> 00:16:38.740 let wealth be spent, 00:16:38.740 --> 00:16:40.740 and let life be sacrificed 00:16:40.740 --> 00:16:42.740 for the sake of religion. 00:16:42.740 --> 00:16:44.740 Yet, O servants of Allah, jealousy does not mean 00:16:44.740 --> 00:16:46.740 that a man should be 00:16:46.740 --> 00:16:48.740 a tyrant, 00:16:48.740 --> 00:16:50.740 oppressive toward his family. 00:16:50.740 --> 00:16:52.740 No, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 00:16:52.740 --> 00:16:54.740 "A believer 00:16:54.740 --> 00:16:56.740 can, through his good character, 00:16:56.740 --> 00:16:58.740 attain the rank of one who fasts and prays through the night." 00:16:58.740 --> 00:17:00.740 Narrated by Abu Dawud. 00:17:00.740 --> 00:17:02.740 And the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 00:17:02.740 --> 00:17:04.740 "A man 00:17:04.740 --> 00:17:06.740 may be recorded with Allah 00:17:06.740 --> 00:17:08.740 in the register of the oppressors, 00:17:08.740 --> 00:17:10.740 while he has no one under his authority except his own household." 00:17:10.740 --> 00:17:12.740 Narrated by Ibn Hibban. 00:17:12.740 --> 00:17:14.740 Rather, one should be wise 00:17:14.740 --> 00:17:16.740 in his conduct, 00:17:16.740 --> 00:17:30.740 [first] advise them; 00:17:30.740 --> 00:17:32.740 [then] advise them, 00:17:32.740 --> 00:17:34.740 and forsake them 00:17:34.740 --> 00:17:36.740 in bed, 00:17:36.740 --> 00:17:38.740 and [finally] discipline them." 00:17:38.740 --> 00:17:40.740 But if they obey you, 00:17:40.740 --> 00:17:42.740 seek no means 00:17:42.740 --> 00:17:44.740 against them. 00:17:44.740 --> 00:17:46.740 Indeed, Allah is ever 00:17:46.740 --> 00:17:48.740 Exalted and Grand. 00:17:48.740 --> 00:17:50.740 We must not look 00:17:50.740 --> 00:17:52.740 at our wives from a 00:17:52.740 --> 00:17:54.740 dark perspective, for every 00:17:54.740 --> 00:17:56.740 human being has faults. 00:17:56.740 --> 00:17:58.740 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 00:17:58.740 --> 00:18:00.740 "No believing man 00:18:00.740 --> 00:18:02.740 should despise a believing woman; 00:18:02.740 --> 00:18:04.740 if he dislikes one of her traits, he may be pleased with another." 00:18:04.740 --> 00:18:06.740 Narrated by Muslim. 00:18:06.740 --> 00:18:08.740 The meaning of "should not despise" 00:18:08.740 --> 00:18:10.740 is that he should not hate her. 00:18:10.740 --> 00:18:12.740 Allah the Almighty says: "But perhaps you hate a thing..." 00:18:12.740 --> 00:18:14.740 “Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.” (2:216) 00:18:14.740 --> 00:18:16.740 And you must know 00:18:16.740 --> 00:18:18.740 that she who accompanies you 00:18:18.740 --> 00:18:20.740 in your marital life 00:18:20.740 --> 00:18:22.740 is a human being with her own dignity, 00:18:22.740 --> 00:18:24.740 her own feelings, 00:18:24.740 --> 00:18:26.740 and a heart 00:18:26.740 --> 00:18:28.740 that beats with love and sensitivity. 00:18:28.740 --> 00:18:30.740 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 00:18:30.740 --> 00:18:32.740 "None of you should lash 00:18:32.740 --> 00:18:34.740 his wife 00:18:34.740 --> 00:18:36.740 like a slave, then have intercourse with her 00:18:36.740 --> 00:18:38.740 at the end of the day." 00:18:38.740 --> 00:18:40.740 That is a sign of 00:18:40.740 --> 00:18:42.740 coarseness and poor 00:18:42.740 --> 00:18:44.740 character. We ask Allah 00:18:44.740 --> 00:18:46.740 to rectify our intentions, 00:18:46.740 --> 00:18:48.740 our offspring, 00:18:48.740 --> 00:18:50.740 and our spouses, and to rectify 00:18:50.740 --> 00:18:52.740 our conditions and the conditions of the Muslims 00:18:52.740 --> 00:18:54.960 everywhere. 00:18:54.960 --> 00:18:56.960 O Allah, rectify the conditions of the Muslims. 00:18:56.960 --> 00:18:58.960 O Allah, rectify the conditions of the Muslims. 00:18:58.960 --> 00:19:00.960 O Allah, rectify the 00:19:00.960 --> 00:19:02.960 conditions of the Muslims everywhere. 00:19:02.960 --> 00:19:04.960 O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, 00:19:04.960 --> 00:19:06.960 forgive our sins, 00:19:06.960 --> 00:19:08.960 conceal our faults, 00:19:08.960 --> 00:19:10.960 accept our repentance, 00:19:10.960 --> 00:19:12.960 and seal our deeds with righteousness. 00:19:12.960 --> 00:19:14.960 “And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil).” (25:74) 00:19:14.960 --> 00:19:16.960 And make our offspring a comfort to our eyes, 00:19:16.960 --> 00:19:18.960 and make us leaders for the righteous. 00:19:18.960 --> 00:19:20.960 O Allah, guide us to the best of character, 00:19:20.960 --> 00:19:22.960 for none guides to its best except You, 00:19:22.960 --> 00:19:24.960 and turn away from us its evil, 00:19:24.960 --> 00:19:26.960 for none turns away its evil 00:19:26.960 --> 00:19:28.960 except You. 00:19:28.960 --> 00:19:30.960 Make us blessed in what You have given us, 00:19:30.960 --> 00:19:32.960 and make us blessed wherever we may be. 00:19:32.960 --> 00:19:34.960 Grant us blessing in everything. 00:19:34.960 --> 00:19:36.960 O Allah, adorn us with Your beautiful covering, 00:19:36.960 --> 00:19:38.960 and place beneath that covering 00:19:38.960 --> 00:19:40.960 righteous deeds that You are pleased with. 00:19:40.960 --> 00:19:42.960 O Allah, forgive our fathers, 00:19:42.960 --> 00:19:44.960 our mothers, our brothers, 00:19:44.960 --> 00:19:46.960 our sisters, and all the Muslims. 00:19:46.960 --> 00:19:48.960 O Allah, whoever among them is alive, 00:19:48.960 --> 00:19:50.960 O Allah, grant them health and wellness 00:19:50.960 --> 00:19:52.960 in obedience to You. 00:19:52.960 --> 00:19:54.960 And whoever among them is dead, 00:19:54.960 --> 00:19:56.960 O Allah, reward their good deeds with further goodness, 00:19:56.960 --> 00:19:58.960 and overlook their bad deeds with pardon and forgiveness. 00:19:58.960 --> 00:20:00.960 Our Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought us up when we were small. 00:20:00.960 --> 00:20:02.960 O Allah, we ask You 00:20:02.960 --> 00:20:04.960 for Your pleasure and Paradise, 00:20:04.960 --> 00:20:06.960 and we seek refuge in You from Your wrath and the Fire. 00:20:06.960 --> 00:20:08.960 O Allah, lift this epidemic from us. 00:20:08.960 --> 00:20:10.960 O Allah, lift this epidemic from us. 00:20:10.960 --> 00:20:12.960 O Allah, lift this epidemic from us, 00:20:12.960 --> 00:20:14.960 and from the lands of the Muslims, 00:20:14.960 --> 00:20:16.960 and from the entire world. 00:20:16.960 --> 00:20:18.960 Keep us in Your protection, 00:20:18.960 --> 00:20:20.960 Your safety, and Your guarantee. 00:20:20.960 --> 00:20:22.960 Preserve us with Your preservation, 00:20:22.960 --> 00:20:24.960 and encompass us with Your care. 00:20:24.960 --> 00:20:26.960 O Allah, grant us security in our homes and dwellings, 00:20:26.960 --> 00:20:28.960 protect those in authority, 00:20:28.960 --> 00:20:30.960 expand our chests, 00:20:30.960 --> 00:20:32.960 and illuminate our graves after we depart this world. 00:20:32.960 --> 00:20:34.960 O Allah, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, 00:20:34.960 --> 00:20:36.960 conclude our lives with goodness, 00:20:36.960 --> 00:20:38.960 and make the outcomes 00:20:38.960 --> 00:20:40.960 of our affairs lead to good, 00:20:40.960 --> 00:20:42.960 and make us keys to all that is good. 00:20:42.960 --> 00:20:44.960 O Allah, we have called upon You in our distress, 00:20:44.960 --> 00:20:46.960 just as You commanded us, 00:20:46.960 --> 00:20:48.960 so answer us just as You promised us. 00:20:48.960 --> 00:20:50.960 O Allah, send peace, blessings, and increase 00:20:50.960 --> 00:20:52.960 upon Your servant and Messenger, Muhammad, 00:20:52.960 --> 00:20:54.960 and upon all his family and companions. 00:20:54.960 --> 00:20:56.960 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
