The Garden of Guidance. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: “Who is it that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan, so that He may give it increase manifold? Allah straiteneth and enlargeth. Unto Him ye will return.” (2:245) “Who is it that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan, so that He may give it increase manifold? Allah straiteneth and enlargeth. Unto Him ye will return.” (2:245) And on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever gives the equivalent of a date in charity from wholesome earnings— and nothing ascends to Allah except that which is wholesome— Allah will accept it with His Right Hand, and then nurture it for its giver just as one of you rears his foal, until it becomes like a mountain." Agreed upon. And in another narration: "To the extent that a single morsel or a date will come on the Day of Resurrection like a massive mountain." Narrated by Ibn Hibban. "The equivalent of a date" means its value. And *al-falw* and *al-faseel* refer to a young horse and a weaned young camel. A beneficial point: There is no one on the face of the earth who offers a 700% return on investment. So how long will you continue to settle for loss, and abandon trading with Allah? Al-Fudayl Ibn 'Iyad, may Allah Almighty have mercy on him, used to say: "How wonderful the beggars are! They carry our provisions to the Hereafter free of charge, until they place them upon the Scale before Allah Almighty." And Yahya Ibn Mu'adh, may Allah Almighty have mercy on him, said: "I know of no single grain that weighs as much as all the mountains of the world, except one given in charity."
