WEBVTT 00:00:00.400 --> 00:00:03.399 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:00:03.399 --> 00:00:11.560 In the embrace of Allah, happiness pours into the hearts. 00:00:11.560 --> 00:00:15.560 Seek ever-greater closeness to the Most Merciful. 00:00:15.560 --> 00:00:18.559 The Muhammad Ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Musa Mosque. 00:00:18.559 --> 00:00:21.559 With excellence, it presents: 00:00:21.559 --> 00:00:24.559 The Musk of Discourse. 00:00:24.559 --> 00:00:26.559 By Sheikh Usama Bahr. 00:00:26.559 --> 00:00:28.559 May Allah preserve him. 00:00:28.559 --> 00:00:35.560 Whoever obeys the Lord dissolves into the sweetest of feelings. 00:00:35.560 --> 00:00:38.560 The heavy-laden date palm for Abu al-Dahdah. 00:00:38.560 --> 00:00:44.770 There was, in the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:00:44.770 --> 00:00:46.770 an orphaned boy. 00:00:46.770 --> 00:00:49.770 He had an orchard adjacent to the orchard of a man. 00:00:49.770 --> 00:00:52.770 The boy wanted to build a wall, 00:00:52.770 --> 00:00:56.770 but a date palm belonging to the man stood in the way of this wall. 00:00:56.770 --> 00:00:58.770 So he went to him and said, 00:00:58.770 --> 00:01:00.770 "O my brother, 00:01:00.770 --> 00:01:03.770 you have many date palms in your orchard, 00:01:03.770 --> 00:01:08.769 so it would not harm you to give me this palm tree that obstructs my wall." 00:01:08.769 --> 00:01:09.769 The man replied, 00:01:09.769 --> 00:01:12.769 "No, by Allah, I will not give you the palm tree." 00:01:12.769 --> 00:01:14.769 He then said, "Sell it to me." 00:01:14.769 --> 00:01:15.769 The man replied, 00:01:15.769 --> 00:01:18.769 "No, by Allah, I will not do any of that." 00:01:18.769 --> 00:01:22.769 So this orphan went to the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:01:22.769 --> 00:01:23.769 and said, 00:01:23.769 --> 00:01:25.769 "O Messenger of Allah, 00:01:25.769 --> 00:01:28.769 my orchard is next to the orchard of so-and-so, 00:01:28.769 --> 00:01:31.769 and I wanted to build a wall, 00:01:31.769 --> 00:01:35.769 but a palm tree belonging to this man obstructed me, and he refused me." 00:01:35.769 --> 00:01:39.769 "So intercede for me with him, perhaps he will give me the palm tree." 00:01:39.769 --> 00:01:41.769 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, 00:01:41.769 --> 00:01:42.769 "Call him." 00:01:42.769 --> 00:01:44.769 When the man came, 00:01:44.769 --> 00:01:47.769 the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to him, 00:01:47.769 --> 00:01:49.769 "Give this palm tree to your brother." 00:01:49.769 --> 00:01:51.769 He said, "No." 00:01:51.769 --> 00:01:53.769 He repeated the request to him three times, 00:01:53.769 --> 00:01:55.769 and the man refused. 00:01:55.769 --> 00:01:57.769 Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, 00:01:57.769 --> 00:01:59.769 "Give him the palm tree, 00:01:59.769 --> 00:02:02.769 and you shall have a palm tree in Paradise for it." 00:02:02.769 --> 00:02:04.769 The man said, "No." 00:02:04.769 --> 00:02:07.769 Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, fell silent. 00:02:07.769 --> 00:02:10.770 Abu al-Dahdah stood up when he heard this offer, 00:02:10.770 --> 00:02:11.770 and said, 00:02:11.770 --> 00:02:13.770 "O Messenger of Allah, 00:02:13.770 --> 00:02:16.770 what do you think if I bought this man's palm tree 00:02:16.770 --> 00:02:18.770 and then gave it to the orphan? 00:02:18.770 --> 00:02:21.770 Would I have a palm tree in Paradise?" 00:02:21.770 --> 00:02:22.770 He said, "Yes." 00:02:22.770 --> 00:02:25.770 So Abu al-Dahdah offered his own orchard, 00:02:25.770 --> 00:02:28.770 which contained six hundred palm trees, a well, and a house. 00:02:28.770 --> 00:02:30.770 Abu al-Dahdah said, 00:02:30.770 --> 00:02:32.770 "O owner of the palm tree, 00:02:32.770 --> 00:02:34.770 do you know my orchard?" 00:02:34.770 --> 00:02:36.770 He replied, "Yes, I know it. 00:02:36.770 --> 00:02:38.770 Who could be ignorant of it? 00:02:38.770 --> 00:02:41.770 Your orchard has excellent dates." 00:02:41.770 --> 00:02:42.770 He said, 00:02:42.770 --> 00:02:43.770 "O so-and-so, 00:02:43.770 --> 00:02:46.770 take my entire orchard and all that is in it, 00:02:46.770 --> 00:02:48.770 and give me this palm tree." 00:02:48.770 --> 00:02:51.770 The man turned to the people and said, 00:02:51.770 --> 00:02:53.770 "Do you bear witness to this sale?" 00:02:53.770 --> 00:02:54.770 They said, "Yes." 00:02:54.770 --> 00:02:56.770 The man said, 00:02:56.770 --> 00:03:00.770 "Yes, I have taken the orchard and given you the palm tree." 00:03:00.770 --> 00:03:03.770 Abu al-Dahdah turned to the orphan and said, 00:03:03.770 --> 00:03:06.770 "O so-and-so, the palm tree is yours from me; 00:03:06.770 --> 00:03:08.770 take it." 00:03:08.770 --> 00:03:12.770 Then Abu al-Dahdah turned to the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:03:12.770 --> 00:03:13.770 and said, 00:03:13.770 --> 00:03:15.770 "O Messenger of Allah, 00:03:15.770 --> 00:03:18.770 do I now have a palm tree in Paradise?" 00:03:18.770 --> 00:03:20.770 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, 00:03:20.770 --> 00:03:25.770 "How many heavy-laden date palms does Abu al-Dahdah have in Paradise!" 00:03:25.770 --> 00:03:29.830 Then Abu al-Dahdah went out to his family to bring them out of the orchard. 00:03:29.830 --> 00:03:31.830 He said, 00:03:31.830 --> 00:03:34.830 "O Umm al-Dahdah, I have sold the orchard." 00:03:34.830 --> 00:03:35.830 She asked, 00:03:35.830 --> 00:03:37.830 "How did you sell the orchard?" 00:03:37.830 --> 00:03:38.830 He said, 00:03:38.830 --> 00:03:41.830 "I sold it to my Lord for a palm tree in Paradise." 00:03:41.830 --> 00:03:43.830 She said, 00:03:43.830 --> 00:03:45.830 "A profitable trade, O Abu al-Dahdah!" 00:03:46.830 --> 00:03:50.830 Then she took her children and led them out of the orchard gate. 00:03:50.830 --> 00:03:52.830 She then searched their pockets, 00:03:52.830 --> 00:03:56.830 and whoever had any fruit with them, she took it out, 00:03:56.830 --> 00:03:58.830 placed it back in the orchard, 00:03:58.830 --> 00:03:59.830 and said, 00:03:59.830 --> 00:04:01.830 "This is not ours; 00:04:01.830 --> 00:04:04.830 this belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds." 00:04:46.949 --> 00:04:54.949 Whatever Allah commands, He brings to pass.
