Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
From the effects of belief in the Last Day
Belief in the Last Day has numerous positive effects
and great rewards that the believing servant obtains from it.
Firstly,
certainty of Allah's justice and His grace in recompense, in this world and the Hereafter.
The oppressed person will receive their due from their oppressor,
whether that is in this world or in the Hereafter.
And that good deeds in this world do not go to waste,
even if their reward is not apparent in this world; otherwise, it would seem illogical.
Secondly, praising Allah and being thankful to Him,
and extolling Him as He deserves,
following the realization of His justice and grace, Exalted is He.
Thirdly, realizing that the abode of the Hereafter
is the true life,
and that the life of this world is short and fleeting,
no matter how long it may seem to people.
Allah, the Almighty, says:
Fourthly, establishing a balance of fear and hope in the heart of the believer.
Through these two, a person refrains from sins and transgressions,
and moves towards obedience and virtues.
Fifthly, the soundness and tranquility of the heart,
and its steadfastness in the face of trials of ease and hardship in this world.
For when the matter of the Hereafter dominates the servant's mind,
and he becomes certain of it and of the transience of this world,
he does not despair when calamities strike,
nor does he become arrogant when blessings arrive.
Rather, you see him patient and thankful,
hoping for its reward from Allah in the Hereafter.
The purity of the heart from malice and envy,
because certainty of the Hereafter and desire for it
make the servant indifferent to the fleeting world,
which causes envy and hatred among people.
Seventhly, the soul being filled with optimism,
and its constant adherence to it throughout its life.
For the most optimistic of people
are the strongest in their belief in meeting Allah in the Hereafter.
Eighthly, a strong drive to call to Allah, the Almighty,
and to strive in His cause with high ambition,
firm resolve, and sincere intention,
hoping for Allah's reward in the Hereafter for all of that,
and out of compassion for people from misery in the Hereafter.
