WEBVTT 00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.000 We have heard, just as you have, of Macron being struck by the plague of the age, corona. 00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:11.000 O Allah, we ask You to destroy him just as You destroyed ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl before him. 00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:15.000 But do you know the story of ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl? 00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:20.160 In the fourth year of the Hijrah, the tragedy of Bi’r Ma‘unah occurred. 00:00:20.160 --> 00:00:25.160 It is considered one of the most severe tragedies to have befallen the Muslims. 00:00:25.160 --> 00:00:30.160 Seventy of the Companions, who were reciters of the Holy Qur’an, were martyred therein. 00:00:30.160 --> 00:00:33.159 They were killed through treachery and betrayal. 00:00:33.159 --> 00:00:39.159 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had sent this group of reciters, 00:00:39.159 --> 00:00:42.159 to invite the people of Najd to Islam. 00:00:42.159 --> 00:00:46.159 This was done at the request of one of their leaders and under his protection. 00:00:46.159 --> 00:00:48.159 They arrived at Bi’r Ma‘unah. 00:00:48.159 --> 00:00:50.159 Then they sent one of their men, 00:00:50.159 --> 00:00:52.159 who was Haram Ibn Milhan. 00:00:52.159 --> 00:00:57.159 He carried the letter of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, to ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl. 00:00:57.159 --> 00:00:59.159 When he reached him, 00:00:59.159 --> 00:01:01.159 ‘Amir did not even look at the letter. 00:01:01.159 --> 00:01:04.159 Instead, he signaled to one of his men, 00:01:04.159 --> 00:01:07.159 who stabbed Haram Ibn Milhan in the back. 00:01:07.159 --> 00:01:09.159 The spear emerged from his chest. 00:01:09.159 --> 00:01:13.159 Haram Ibn Milhan, may Allah be pleased with him, took the blood, 00:01:13.159 --> 00:01:16.159 wiped it over his face, and said: 00:01:16.159 --> 00:01:18.159 "I have triumphed, by the Lord of the Ka‘bah." 00:01:18.159 --> 00:01:21.420 Then the wicked ‘Amir incited, 00:01:21.420 --> 00:01:26.420 the tribes of ‘Usayyah, Ri‘l, and Dhakwan to fight the rest of them. 00:01:26.420 --> 00:01:27.420 They rose up with him, 00:01:27.420 --> 00:01:30.420 and surrounded the noble Companions. 00:01:30.420 --> 00:01:35.420 They fought until they were all killed, may the pleasure of Allah be upon them. 00:01:35.420 --> 00:01:39.640 In the tenth year of the Prophetic Hijrah, 00:01:39.640 --> 00:01:41.640 a delegation from Banu ‘Amir wanted, 00:01:41.640 --> 00:01:44.640 to come to the Prophet, peace be upon him. 00:01:44.640 --> 00:01:47.640 They said to ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl, 00:01:47.640 --> 00:01:48.640 "O ‘Amir, 00:01:48.640 --> 00:01:51.640 the people have accepted Islam, so you accept Islam too." 00:01:51.640 --> 00:01:55.640 ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl and Arbad Ibn Qays agreed, 00:01:55.640 --> 00:01:57.640 to go to Madinah. 00:01:57.640 --> 00:02:00.640 But because they did not desire Islam, 00:02:00.640 --> 00:02:07.640 they conspired between themselves to betray the Prophet, peace be upon him, and kill him. 00:02:07.640 --> 00:02:11.639 ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl said to Arbad Ibn Qays, 00:02:11.639 --> 00:02:13.639 "When we come to the man," 00:02:13.639 --> 00:02:16.639 meaning the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:02:16.639 --> 00:02:19.639 "I will distract him by facing him." 00:02:19.639 --> 00:02:21.639 "Once I do that," 00:02:21.639 --> 00:02:24.639 "you kill him with your sword from behind." 00:02:24.639 --> 00:02:28.740 When they arrived at the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 00:02:28.740 --> 00:02:30.740 ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl said, 00:02:30.740 --> 00:02:33.740 "O Muhammad, befriend me," 00:02:33.740 --> 00:02:35.740 meaning, "take me as a friend." 00:02:35.740 --> 00:02:38.740 He, peace be upon him, replied, 00:02:38.740 --> 00:02:42.740 "No, by Allah, not until you believe in Allah alone." 00:02:42.740 --> 00:02:44.740 He said, "O Muhammad, befriend me." 00:02:44.740 --> 00:02:49.740 He kept speaking to him, waiting for Arbad to do what he had ordered him to do. 00:02:49.740 --> 00:02:52.740 But Arbad did nothing. 00:02:52.740 --> 00:02:56.740 When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, refused him, 00:02:56.740 --> 00:02:58.740 ‘Amir said, 00:02:58.740 --> 00:03:02.740 "By Allah, I will fill it against you with horses and men," 00:03:02.740 --> 00:03:04.740 referring to Madinah. 00:03:04.740 --> 00:03:06.740 When he turned away, 00:03:06.740 --> 00:03:09.740 the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, 00:03:09.740 --> 00:03:13.740 "O Allah, protect me from ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl." 00:03:13.740 --> 00:03:18.740 When they left the presence of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 00:03:18.740 --> 00:03:20.740 ‘Amir said to Arbad, 00:03:20.740 --> 00:03:22.740 "Woe to you, Arbad! 00:03:22.740 --> 00:03:24.740 Where is what I commanded you to do?" 00:03:24.740 --> 00:03:26.740 Arbad replied, 00:03:26.740 --> 00:03:28.740 "May you have no father, do not rush me! 00:03:28.740 --> 00:03:33.740 By Allah, every time I intended to do what you ordered regarding him, 00:03:33.740 --> 00:03:36.740 he would come between me and the man, 00:03:36.740 --> 00:03:38.740 until I could see nothing but you. 00:03:38.740 --> 00:03:40.740 Was I to strike you with the sword?" 00:03:40.740 --> 00:03:43.830 Then they left, returning to their lands. 00:03:43.830 --> 00:03:46.830 When they were on the road, 00:03:46.830 --> 00:03:51.830 Allah sent the plague upon ‘Amir Ibn al-Tufayl in his neck. 00:03:51.830 --> 00:03:54.830 He was in the house of a woman from Banu Salul. 00:03:54.830 --> 00:03:56.830 He began to say, 00:03:56.830 --> 00:03:58.830 "A swelling like the swelling of a young camel?" 00:03:58.830 --> 00:04:02.830 This is a disease similar to the plague that affects camels. 00:04:02.830 --> 00:04:04.830 "A swelling like the swelling of a young camel?" 00:04:04.830 --> 00:04:07.830 In the house of a woman from Banu Salul. 00:04:07.830 --> 00:04:10.830 He went out, mounted his horse, and rode off. 00:04:10.830 --> 00:04:13.830 The horse threw him from its back, 00:04:13.830 --> 00:04:15.830 and trampled him until he died. 00:04:15.830 --> 00:04:17.930 As for Arbad Ibn Qays, 00:04:17.930 --> 00:04:19.930 he arrived at his people. 00:04:19.930 --> 00:04:22.930 They asked, "What news do you bring, Arbad?" 00:04:22.930 --> 00:04:27.930 He said, "By Allah, Muhammad invited us to worship something, 00:04:27.930 --> 00:04:30.930 I wish he were here now, 00:04:30.930 --> 00:04:34.930 so I could shoot him with this arrow and kill him." 00:04:34.930 --> 00:04:38.930 Then, a day or two after he said that, he went out. 00:04:38.930 --> 00:04:42.930 Allah sent a thunderbolt upon him that burned him. 00:04:42.930 --> 00:04:46.660 True is Allah, who says: 00:04:46.660 --> 00:04:49.660 “O Messenger! Make known that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou wilt not have conveyed His message. Allah will protect thee from mankind. Lo! Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.” (5:67) 00:04:49.660 --> 00:04:53.660 "Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people." 00:04:53.660 --> 00:04:56.660 So continue, O servants of Allah, in the boycott. 00:04:56.660 --> 00:05:00.660 And continue, O boycott of goodness.
