It is necessary for anyone who confronts the extremists and refutes them
to be knowledgeable about the details of their deviations and the evidence of their attribution to those who hold them.
He must also possess an understanding of the reality of the extremists,
as well as the circumstances and conditions that surround them.
He must consider the consequences of matters and the outcomes of confronting them.
If such a confrontation would result in greater harm than the harm of their extremism—
such as if a disbelieving enemy or a hypocrite were to exploit such a confrontation,
and utilize it to implement their schemes to strike at Islam and its people,
especially the people of the Sunnah among them—
if such a result is likely to occur,
then the denunciation should be postponed until a time when the harm diminishes or ceases,
or one should denounce both the extremists and the disbelieving enemy or hypocrite,
in order to block the path for tyrants and hypocrites
from using the refutation of extremists as a means to fight the callers to Islam and the mujahideen who are upon the truth.
In summary, it is incumbent upon the one who confronts extremism and its proponents
to strive to formulate their refutations in a manner that does not serve the enemies of the religion.
