A Summary of the Concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
Striking Parables in the Qur'an
The striking of parables recurs frequently in the Noble Qur'an,
and Allah Almighty says:
﴿And these parables We present to the people, that perhaps they will give thought.﴾
“As for these similitudes, We coin them for mankind, but none will grasp their meaning save the wise.” (29:43)
In this, there is an affirmation of the use of parables,
an encouragement to ponder and understand them,
and praise for those who comprehend them and grasp their intended meaning.
As for those who fail to comprehend the parables struck
in the Qur'an and mock them,
they are among the people of deviation, ignorance, and misguidance.
If you reflect upon the Noble Qur'an,
you will find that most of the parables Allah strikes therein
concern the fundamental tenets of the religion and similar core matters.
