Among the aesthetic beauties of the Prophetic biography (Seerah).
The initial sense of awe.
The secluded woman witnessed him on the road.
She was captivated by his character.
And she found his Prophetic characteristics (Shama'il) to be delightful.
Especially since his blessing had filled the corners of her tent.
Generosity became widespread.
And hardship and distress were lifted.
For there had come to her a young man of noble stature.
Whose fame had preceded him.
The promised Prophet.
For whom wealth had been set aside.
And of whose virtues and wonders people spoke.
Among the most exquisite descriptions of him.
Is the account of Umm Ma'bad al-Khuza'iyyah.
In which we observe an initial sense of awe.
And a rare aesthetic portrait.
She said:
I saw a man of manifest radiance.
With a bright, clear face.
Of excellent character.
Not marred by a protruding belly.
Nor diminished by a small, disproportionate head.
Handsome and well-proportioned.
When he was silent.
Dignity enveloped him.
And when he spoke.
Splendor shone upon him.
The most majestic and beautiful of people from a distance.
And the most handsome and sweet of them from up close.
Sweet in his speech.
Decisive, neither lacking in substance nor rambling.
As if his words were beads on a string, cascading down.
To the end of the well-known description.
Reflect here upon this fleeting description.
During the hour of the traveler’s arrival.
And how she expressed it with such creativity.
Speaking words that rank among the finest Prophetic descriptions.
This blessed, beautiful encounter moved her.
To believe in him and affirm his call.
For she saw goodness in his words and his deeds.
And in his appearance and his conduct.
So learn from his biography (Seerah).
That your hearts may be expanded and your faith perfected.
And your own qualities may become refined.
Allah the Exalted says:
﴾And indeed, you are of a great moral character.﴿
