The Garden of Guidance. Allah Almighty said: "And those who patiently persevere, seeking the Countenance of their Lord, establish prayer, spend from what We have provided them, secretly and openly, and repel evil with good—for them is the ultimate abode: Gardens of perpetual bliss which they will enter, along with the righteous among their parents, their spouses, and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, saying: 'Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. How excellent is the ultimate abode!'" And on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "Know that there is much good in enduring patiently what you dislike, that victory comes with patience, relief comes with affliction, and with hardship comes ease." Narrated by Ahmad. A point of benefit: Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the words of the Exalted: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. How excellent is the ultimate abode!" He said: "They were patient in fulfilling what they were commanded to do, and patient in refraining from what they were forbidden."
