Among the sayings of the salaf regarding the struggle against one's desires and the warning against them.

3
00:00:14,699 --> 00:00:19,699
Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "The greatest struggle is the struggle against one's desires."

4
00:00:19,699 --> 00:00:23,730
And Umar Ibn Abd al-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

5
00:00:23,730 --> 00:00:27,730
"Do not be among those who follow the truth only when it aligns with their desires,"

6
00:00:27,730 --> 00:00:30,730
"and oppose it when it contradicts their desires."

"because in both instances, you were merely following your own desires."
