A hadith and commentary
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"There is no day in which the servants of Allah awaken
but that two angels descend,
and one of them says:
'O Allah, grant the one who spends a compensation,'
while the other says:
'O Allah, grant the one who withholds destruction.'"
Commentary
Ibn Baz commented, saying:
"A Muslim should strive to give charity every day, even if only a little,
so that he may be included in the angel’s supplication for compensation.
And the compensation from Allah is not merely an equivalent,
but rather it is multiplied manifold."
