Forty hadiths on the virtue of charity.
On the authority of Hakim Ibn Hizam, may Allah be pleased with him.
A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about charity.
[He asked,] "Which is best?"
He replied:
"Giving to a relative who harbors enmity."
Recorded by Imam Ahmad and classified as hasan by al-Albani.
Al-Mundhiri said:
It means that the best charity is:
Giving to a relative who severs ties.
[Specifically, the one] who conceals hostility within himself.
