A summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah.
Defensive jihad and offensive jihad.
The jihad against the disbelievers is divided into two categories.
Defensive jihad and offensive jihad.
Firstly, defensive jihad.
This is the jihad against an aggressor and an attacker.
Whether he is a disbeliever or a Muslim.
This is the jihad against an oppressor without misinterpretation or authority.
This is a personal obligation on every adult, capable Muslim.
As follows:
If the aggressor's intent is wealth,
it is permissible to defend against him with whatever is possible.
Even if it means giving him something of the wealth.
And if his intent is honor and fornication,
it is obligatory upon the one being attacked
to defend himself with whatever is possible.
And it is never permissible to submit to him.
And if his intent is to kill,
then defending against him is obligatory or permissible.
There are two opinions in the school of Imam Ahmad and others regarding its obligation.
And if the fighting is a fitnah (tribulation),
there are two opinions in the school of Imam Ahmad and others.
It is permissible to defend oneself or to surrender.
So, defensive jihad is broader than offensive jihad.
And more generally obligatory.
It is therefore incumbent without permission.
This is like the jihad of the Muslims on the day of Uhud and the Trench.
And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr."
"Whoever is killed defending his religion is a martyr."
"Whoever is killed defending his blood is a martyr."
"Whoever is killed defending his family is a martyr."
Narrated by Tirmidhi.
So, defending an aggressor against religion is jihad and an act of worship.
And defending an aggressor against wealth and life is permissible.
If one is killed in it, he is a martyr.
It is not a condition in defensive jihad that the enemy be twice the number of Muslims or less.
This is a jihad of necessity and defense, not a jihad of choice.
And defensive jihad is intended by everyone.
Only the coward, condemned by law and reason, would shy away from it.
Secondly, offensive jihad.
This is the pursuit of the enemy disbeliever and to gain victory over him and his land.
So that the servants and the lands submit to Islam.
And polytheism is eradicated.
Allah the Almighty says:
“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do.” (8:39)
Its ruling is that it is a collective obligation (fard kifayah).
Unless the Imam calls upon the Muslims to mobilize.
Then it becomes an individual obligation on those whom he calls upon.
And by this, it is understood that all the resolutions of the infidel United Nations are nullified.
And what is called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Which calls for respecting the boundaries of others.
And lasting peace and coexistence.
And freedom of belief.
And so on.
Offensive jihad precedes the establishment of a state and a polity for the Muslims and their capability.
Therefore, preparation for it is obligatory.
By establishing this entity first.
Islam is not merely a creed.
So that it suffices to convey its creed to people through explanation.
Rather, it is a methodology embodied in an organized, dynamic collective.
That strives to liberate all people.
It is a methodology based on singling out Allah alone for divinity.
Manifested in sovereignty.
And it organizes real life in all its daily details.
So, jihad for the sake of this methodology.
Is jihad to establish it and implement its system.
As for the creed,
its matter is left to the freedom of persuasion under the general system.
After removing all influences.
And we must not confuse the various Qur'anic verses.
in different historical stages and their contextual meanings.
With the general meaning of the long Islamic movement.
And we must understand that the verses that speak of holding back hands.
are a matter of strategy, not a matter of principle.
And a matter of the exigencies of movement.
Not a matter of creedal tenets.
This is the concept with which the defeated should be confronted.
Those influenced by Western and Eastern ideologies.
This religion is.
A general declaration for the liberation of humanity on Earth.
From servitude to other humans.
And from servitude to desires as well.
By declaring the divinity and Lordship of Allah alone, Glorified be He, over the worlds.
If Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both.
had felt secure from the aggression of the Romans and Persians against the Arabian Peninsula.
Would they have refrained from extending the Islamic tide to the ends of the Earth?
