The liberals in Muslim lands are mere appendages to Western liberalism.
In reality, they possess no genuine civilizational project for the advancement of their nations.
Rather, their sole concern is to combat the projects of the Islamists.
Dr. Fu'ad Zakariya was once asked—
and he was among the prominent figures of the liberals and secularists in Egypt—
about the liberals' project.
He replied that they have no intellectual project.
Their project is to demolish the project of the Islamists.
This is a reality that is observed and felt.
For they have not the slightest interest even in the national and existential issues of Muslims and Arabs,
such as the cause of Palestine,
or the West's exploitation of the wealth of Muslim lands,
and so on.
