A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
The sources of creed.
The sources from which the correct creed is known.
They are the Book of Allah, the Exalted.
And the authentic Sunnah of His Messenger, peace be upon him.
Even if they are solitary hadiths.
And the consensus of the salaf of the Ummah.
Meaning that upon which the righteous salaf from the first three generations agreed.
These are the preferred generations.
About which the Messenger, peace be upon him, informed us when he was asked:
Which people are best?
He replied:
My generation.
Then those who follow them.
Narrated by al-Bukhari.
As for inspiration and true, righteous visions,
And sound intuition,
All of these matters are considered nothing more than miracles and glad tidings,
Provided they conform to the Shari'ah.
They are not a source for creed nor for legislation.
