In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Milestones on the path of steadfastness. Following the guidance. Among the means of achieving steadfastness is the realization of true adherence. As the Almighty says: “And (He commandeth you, saying): This is My straight path, so follow it. Follow not other ways, lest ye be parted from His way. This hath He ordained for you, that ye may ward off (evil).” (6:153) "And do not follow other ways, for they will lead you away from His way." “And (He commandeth you, saying): This is My straight path, so follow it. Follow not other ways, lest ye be parted from His way. This hath He ordained for you, that ye may ward off (evil).” (6:153) The reality of this adherence is following the Book and the Sunnah, according to the understanding of the salaf of the Ummah, while avoiding innovations and corrupt ideologies in creed, conduct, and methodology. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, advised during times of division and disagreement to follow his Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. He said: "I enjoin you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey, even if [your leader] is an Abyssinian slave. For whoever among you lives after me will see much disagreement. So you must follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. Hold fast to it, and bite onto it with your molar teeth. And beware of newly invented matters, for every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is a misguidance." Those who follow [the truth] shall have no fear regarding the future, nor shall they grieve over the past. The Almighty says: "We said, 'Go down from it, all of you. And when there comes to you from Me guidance, then whoever follows My guidance, there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.'" [The verse continues:] "No fear concerning them, nor will they grieve." And He, the Glorified, said: "And they say, 'None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian.' These are their wishful thoughts. Say, 'Produce your proof, if you are truthful.' But no, whoever submits his face to Allah while being a doer of good, he will have his reward with his Lord; he will have his reward with his Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve." Milestones on the path of steadfastness.
