Who I am and what I am
A man asked Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Attab, may God have mercy on him
On issues he elected and prepared
He gave him the best answer
The man praised him
And he said to him
My nephew, don't make this a habit
If I had not seen it yesterday
I didn't answer you like that
Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said

I have nothing and nothing from me
There is nothing in me

Poverty is a necessary self-description for me
As wealth never described him self
This is the condition of all creation
And they all have a servant who comes to him
Whoever desires a demand from someone other than his Creator
He is the ignorant, oppressive, and oppressive polytheist
Praise be to God from the entire universe
What was from him and what follows is my destiny
May God have mercy on him, he used to treat the poor and the righteous
He honors him, comforts him, and comforts him
