A new challenge: Who am I?
I am the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his beloved flower.
I am the master of the youth of Paradise.
I am among those who most resemble the Prophet, peace be upon him.
He, peace be upon him, loved me dearly.
He would urge people to love me.
For he once said while I was before him:
"O Allah, I love him."
"So love him, and love those who love him."
Once, I took a date from the dates of charity.
I put it in my mouth.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to me:
"Kakh, kakh! Throw it away."
"Do you not know that we do not consume charity?"
The Prophet, peace be upon him, used to take me with him to the mosque.
I would climb onto his back while he was prostrating.
Or I would come to him while he was bowing.
He would spread his legs for me so that I could pass through to the other side.
Once, the Prophet, peace be upon him, placed me down.
Then he said the takbir and began the prayer.
I climbed onto his back while he was prostrating.
He prolonged his prostration.
When he finished his prayer,
They said, "O Messenger of Allah, you prolonged your prostration."
He replied, "This son of mine rode upon me."
"I disliked rushing him until he had satisfied his need."
One day, I entered the mosque,
And my grandfather, peace be upon him, was delivering a sermon.
When he saw me,
He descended and carried me up with him onto the pulpit.
He said, "This son of mine is a leader."
"Through him, Allah will reconcile two groups of Muslims."
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, taught me,
Words to say during the Witr prayer:
"O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided."
"Grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being."
"Take me into Your care among those whom You have taken into Your care."
"Bless for me what You have given."
"And protect me from the evil of what You have decreed."
"For You decree, and none can decree against You."
"Indeed, he whom You befriend is never humiliated."
"And he whom You oppose is never honored."
"Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted."
I performed Hajj fifteen times.
In most of them, I performed Hajj on foot,
While my mounts were led before me.
So, who am I?
The best of generations in their stances and examples.
They followed the Messenger in all he strove for or said.
They were here, watering the clouds of our lives.
So how could their memory not be exalted among us?
They departed, leaving a question in the conscience:
Has any star ever risen and shone like them?
They filled life with glories through their deeds.
And the world of humanity flourished because of them.
