Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has stated:
“O ye who believe! Lo! among your wives and your children there are enemies for you, therefor beware of them. And if ye efface and overlook and forgive, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (64:14)
The fact that this is among the trials
stems from the pressure that children and spouses exert upon their guardian,
driving him to fall into acts of disobedience,
causing him to abandon striving in the path of Allah for their sake,
or leading him to earn wealth through unlawful means,
and to spend it on unlawful things because of them.
