In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammari Surat Al-Shu'ara In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Give full measure and do not be among those who lose They were weighed using a straight scale And do not deprive people of their things And do not act chastely on earth, spreading corruption And fear Him who created you and those who created the first Give people their due rights Do not be among those who lack their rights Weigh with a straight balance, in which there is no depreciation against whomever you weigh People do not lose their rights to measure or weight And do not spread corruption on earth And fear, O people, the punishment of your Lord, who created you and created the first creation They said, “You are one of those who are enchanted.” You are only human like us, and you think that you are one of the liars Then drop on us a piece of heaven if you are of the truthful ones They said, “You, Shuaib, are just a reasoner.” You explain food and drink as we explain them I am not a king You are only human beings like us who eat and drink We do not expect you to do what you tell us and call us to Except for those who lie about what they say If you are honest in what you say, you are the Messenger of God as you claim Then pieces of the sky fell on us He said, “My Lord knows best what you do.” So they denied him, so the torment of the Day of Shadow befell them It was the torment of a great day Shuaib said to his people My Lord knows best what you do He is surrounded by your deeds And He will reward you with it So his people lied to him So the torment of the Day of Shadow seized them It is a cloud that misled them When they finished under it A fire blazed over them and burned them The torment of the Day of Shadow was the torment of a great day Therefore, most of them were believers Indeed, your Lord is Almighty, Most Merciful The people of Shuaib are torturing us A sign for your people, O Muhammad Most of them were not believers as far as we knew about them Indeed, your Lord, O Muhammad, is the Mighty in His vengeance Whoever took revenge on his enemies Most Merciful to those of His creation who repent It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds The faithful Spirit descended upon him On your heart so that you may be among the warners In clear Arabic language Indeed, it is in the penis of the ancients This Qur’an was revealed by the Lord of the Worlds Gabriel, the faithful spirit, sent him down So he recited it to you, O Muhammad, until you understood it in your heart To be one of God's messengers who used to warn those of their people sent to him And warn your people in the Arabic language It is clear to those who hear him that he is an Arab Indeed, this Qur’an is in the books of the ancients Did they not have a sign that the scholars of the Children of Israel should teach it? Were they not those who turned away from the remembrance of your Lord that comes to you, O Muhammad? An indication that you are the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds That the scholars of the Children of Israel know the truth and validity of this Even if we revealed it to some foreigners So he recited it to them as long as they were believers Even if We sent down this Qur’an to some of the splendor of the unspeakable So recite this Qur’an to the infidels of your people, O Muhammad They would not have believed in him Because of the misery that had happened to them previously This is an entertainment from God, His Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, on behalf of his people So that his distress would not become more intense by them turning away from him And their refusal to listen to this Qur’an Thus We have implanted it into the hearts of criminals They will not believe in him until they see the painful torment Then it will come to them suddenly and they do not realize it They say: Are we theorists? Likewise, We have introduced denial and disbelief into the hearts of criminals We did this to them so that they would not believe in this Qur’an Until they see the painful torment in the immediate future of this world This was also seen by the nations whose stories God told in this Surah Then suddenly a painful punishment will come to those who deny this Qur’an They did not know before that of his coming Until he surprises them suddenly They say: Are we being spared the torment? And in our time, let us repent Are they hastening to punish us? What do you think if we entertain them for years? Then what they had been promised came to them The enjoyment they had was of no use to them Are these polytheists hastening to punish Us? By their saying, “We will not believe in you until the sky falls as you claimed on us.” What do you think if we entertain them for years? Then came to them the torment that they were threatened with because of their disbelief in Our verses and their denial of Our Messenger Anything that will save them from the delay that We delayed in their time And the enjoyment we gave them from life Because they did not repent of their polytheism Is it of any benefit to them that we enjoy anything? Rather, it harmed them by increasing their sins We destroyed not a single town except that it had warners Remember, and we were not unjust We did not destroy any of the villages described in these surahs Only after We sent to them messengers warning them of Our punishment A reminder to them and a warning of what will save them from our torment And we were not unjust to them in destroying them And what the devils descended upon What they should and what they can They are isolated from hearing The devils did not descend upon Muhammad with this Qur’an And the devils should not bring it down upon him And they can't afford it The devils are isolated from hearing the Qur’an from the place in which it is in heaven How can they get down with him? Do not call upon another god with God, lest you be among those who are tormented So, O Muhammad, do not call upon anyone other than Him to be worshiped with God The torment that befell those who disobeyed our command and worshiped others will befall you And warn your closest clan And lower your wings to those of the believers who follow you If they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do.” And warn your clan of people who are closest to you by blood And warn them of our torment And now your side and your words are for those of the believers who follow you If your closest relatives disobey you, O Muhammad So tell them that I am innocent of what you do of worshiping idols And put your trust in the Mighty, the Merciful Who sees you when you rise And turn you into those who prostrate He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing And trust in the Almighty in his vengeance against his enemies Merciful to those who turn to Him and repent of their sins Who sees you when you stand up for your prayer He sees your fluctuation among those who trust you between standing, kneeling, prostrating, and sitting Your Lord is the Hearer of your recitation, O Muhammad, and your remembrance in your prayers The One Who knows what you do in it and whoever changes with you does in it So recite the Qur’an there and establish its boundaries For you are a witness from your Lord and a listener Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? It descends on all your sinful axes They listen and most of them are liars Shall I inform you, O people, upon whom the devils descend from among the people? It descends on every liar and sinner The devils listen It is what they hear from what they have eavesdropped on when it occurred from heaven To all your sinful abominations among their friends among the children of Adam And the devils descend upon them most They are liars in what they say and tell The poets are followed by the poets Have you not seen that they wander in every valley? And they say what they do not do Except those who believe and do righteous deeds They mentioned God a lot They mentioned God a lot And they were victorious after they were wronged And those who wronged will know which way to turn The poets of the polytheists are followed by the temptations of the people And the rebellious devils and the disobedient jinn Have you not seen, O Muhammad, that poets go to every valley? Like a wanderer on his face unintentionally Rather, he is unjust to the truth and the path of guidance They falsely praise some people and insult others with lies and falsehood Except those who believe and do righteous deeds They mentioned God a lot in their words And they were defeated by their method from the polytheist poets unjustly They responded to what they attacked them with And those who wronged themselves by committing polytheism with God will learn from the people of Mecca Which reference do they refer to? What place will they return to after their death? For they will become a fire whose flames will never be quenched and whose flame will not subside
