00:00:00.850 --> 00:00:06.150
Established Sunnahs of the Prophet:

00:00:06.150 --> 00:00:12.070
Uncovering a portion of the body so that rain falls upon it.

00:00:12.070 --> 00:00:15.839
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

00:00:15.839 --> 00:00:21.339
"Rain fell upon us while we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

00:00:21.339 --> 00:00:22.640
He said:

00:00:22.640 --> 00:00:27.339
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lifted a portion of his garment,

00:00:27.339 --> 00:00:30.679
until the rain touched his body.

00:00:30.679 --> 00:00:32.179
So we asked:

00:00:32.179 --> 00:00:33.880
'O Messenger of Allah,

00:00:33.880 --> 00:00:36.210
why did you do this?'

00:00:36.210 --> 00:00:37.409
He replied:

00:00:37.409 --> 00:00:41.259
'Because it has only recently come from its Lord.'"

00:00:41.259 --> 00:00:43.450
Narrated by Ahmad.

00:00:43.450 --> 00:00:45.350
"He lifted his garment,"

00:00:45.350 --> 00:00:47.549
meaning he uncovered a portion of his body.
