A hadith and commentary.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"He has truly succeeded who has submitted to Islam,
has been provided with enough to suffice him,
and whom Allah has made content with what He has given him."
Narrated by Muslim.
Commentary:
Contentment is one of the greatest blessings.
I believe our need to learn it and internalize it,
and to fill our hearts and the hearts of our loved ones with it,
in this strange, materialistic age,
is greater than our need for it
in any time that has passed.
