Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
The objectives of the Noble Qur'an
The Noble Qur'an has numerous objectives and aims.
Among them are guidance, its miraculous nature, and worship through its recitation.
It includes glad tidings for the believers and warnings for the disbelievers and hypocrites.
And it clarifies the path of the believers and the path of the criminals.
And ruling and governing humanity by it.
And strengthening hearts and finding tranquility in it.
And so forth.
However, its primary objectives among those mentioned
are the first three.
Worship through its recitation.
For Allah, the Mighty and Majestic,
has ordained a great reward for reciting the Noble Qur'an.
Allah, the Exalted, says:
“Lo! those who read the Scripture of Allah, and establish worship, and spend of that which We have bestowed on them secretly and openly, they look forward to imperishable gain,” (35:29)
"And spend from what We have provided for them, secretly and publicly."
“Lo! those who read the Scripture of Allah, and establish worship, and spend of that which We have bestowed on them secretly and openly, they look forward to imperishable gain,” (35:29)
“That He will pay them their wages and increase them of His grace. Lo! He is Forgiving, Responsive.” (35:30)
"Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative."
And Mutarrif ibn Abdullah used to say,
"This is the verse of the reciters."
And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah
shall have a good deed recorded for him,
and a good deed is multiplied ten times.
I do not say that 'Alif, Lam, Meem' is one letter,
but rather Alif is a letter,
Lam is a letter,
and Meem is a letter."
Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.
And he, peace be upon him, said:
"The one who is proficient in the Qur'an will be with the noble, righteous scribes.
And the one who recites the Qur'an and stumbles over it, while it is difficult for him,
shall have two rewards."
Agreed upon.
The miraculous nature (I'jaz).
And the fundamental purpose of it
is to be a sign and proof of the Messenger's truthfulness in his call.
The explanation of its miraculous nature has already been detailed
in the concepts from 140 to 146.
Guidance.
And this is the principal objective of the Noble Qur'an.
And all other objectives of the Qur'an, whether mentioned or not,
can be encompassed under this principal objective.
