00:00:00.880 --> 00:00:05.879
The prophetic Sunnah contains established, authentic practices.

00:00:05.879 --> 00:00:12.310
Placing one's hand on the area of pain while supplicating is one of them.

00:00:12.310 --> 00:00:16.890
It is narrated on the authority of 'Uthman Ibn Abi al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him)

00:00:16.890 --> 00:00:25.890
that he complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about a pain he had felt in his body ever since he embraced Islam.

00:00:25.890 --> 00:00:30.050
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him:

00:00:30.050 --> 00:00:37.210
"Place your hand on the part of your body that hurts and say, 'In the name of Allah' three times,

00:00:37.210 --> 00:00:46.210
and say seven times, 'I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel and fear.'"

00:00:46.210 --> 00:00:48.429
Narrated by Muslim.
