Summary of Sunni concepts
The reprehensible and forbidden separation
It is when a single group with sound beliefs separates from itself
Because the division between those who follow the same approach can only be caused by whims and selfish desires
This type of separation is what the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah prohibit and warn of its consequences
As in the Almighty’s saying
And do not be like those who became divided and disagreed after clear proofs had come to them
And for those will be a great punishment
And the Almighty said
Turn to Him and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of the polytheists
Of those who divided their religion and became sects
Every party is happy with what they have
And his saying, may God bless him and grant him peace
Community is mercy and division is punishment
Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Albani
This is what the narrations from the predecessors warned against
As Ibn Masoud, may God be pleased with him, said
Evil discord
And he said, “What you hate in congregation is better than what you love in division.”
