WEBVTT 00:00:00.400 --> 00:00:02.399 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:01:11.549 --> 00:01:17.579 The true believer is the master who commands and directs, while his base instincts remain in his service. 00:01:17.579 --> 00:01:21.579 That is why the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 00:01:21.579 --> 00:01:25.579 "Wretched is the slave of the dinar, wretched is the slave of the dirham." 00:01:25.579 --> 00:01:30.579 "Wretched is the slave of the velvet garment, wretched is the slave of the silk." 00:01:30.579 --> 00:01:35.579 "May he be wretched and stumble, and if he is pricked by a thorn, may he find no one to extract it." 00:01:35.579 --> 00:01:38.579 There are many young people today who are slaves to this world. 00:01:38.579 --> 00:01:41.780 And those who are deceived by it are even more numerous. 00:01:41.780 --> 00:01:45.780 The best example we can instill in the depths of our youth 00:01:45.780 --> 00:01:49.780 is the Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:01:49.780 --> 00:01:55.780 He was a young believer who subjected his instincts to his faith in Allah. 00:01:55.780 --> 00:02:02.939 Thus, Allah immortalized his memory and recorded his story to serve as guidance and a beacon for others. 00:02:02.939 --> 00:02:07.939 He was a youth in the prime of his life and the dawn of his age. 00:02:07.939 --> 00:02:13.939 He was granted the utmost beauty and was filled with vigor and vitality. 00:02:13.939 --> 00:02:18.939 Allah decreed that he be tested by serving a woman in the house of the Aziz. 00:02:18.939 --> 00:02:25.939 Yet his youth and beauty tempted this woman, who was herself a person of status and beauty. 00:02:25.939 --> 00:02:31.030 She was the First Lady, the wife of the Aziz of Egypt. 00:02:31.030 --> 00:02:37.289 She sought to seduce him, locked the doors, and said, "Come to me." 00:02:37.289 --> 00:02:40.289 The situation was delicate. 00:02:40.289 --> 00:02:45.289 There is no doubt that the trial this noble Prophet faced 00:02:45.289 --> 00:02:50.289 was not one of those fleeting temptations that a person might encounter for an hour in their life. 00:02:50.289 --> 00:02:56.289 Rather, it was a trial that accompanied him morning and evening, in his stay and his travel. 00:02:56.289 --> 00:03:01.289 It was not the temptation of a woman of the night or a common prostitute. 00:03:01.289 --> 00:03:05.289 It was the temptation of a woman of status and beauty. 00:03:05.289 --> 00:03:09.289 Indeed, she was the mistress of the house, the wife of the Aziz. 00:03:09.289 --> 00:03:14.289 And he was a youth sold for a meager price, for a few counted dirhams. 00:03:14.289 --> 00:03:17.289 He had no known family or home. 00:03:17.289 --> 00:03:20.289 He was merely a servant in her house. 00:03:20.289 --> 00:03:23.289 It was his duty to be commanded and to obey. 00:03:23.289 --> 00:03:28.289 So what did this young, unmarried, foreign, and exceptionally handsome man do 00:03:28.289 --> 00:03:32.289 with a mistress whom he was expected to obey? 00:03:32.289 --> 00:03:35.289 And it was not in her interest for the news to spread. 00:03:35.289 --> 00:03:38.289 He was facing two trials. 00:03:38.289 --> 00:03:42.289 Either he would fulfill her desire and fall from the sight of Allah, 00:03:42.289 --> 00:03:47.349 or he would refuse and his fate would be imprisonment. 00:03:47.349 --> 00:04:10.360 A lesson has been set for every young man today. 00:04:10.360 --> 00:04:13.360 For every young man listening to me: 00:04:13.360 --> 00:04:16.360 This was a great Prophet who was once a servant. 00:04:16.360 --> 00:04:20.610 And he eventually became the Aziz of Egypt. 00:04:20.610 --> 00:04:25.610 These are words I wish to whisper into the ears of the youth today. 00:04:25.610 --> 00:04:29.670 Words imbued with awe and majesty. 00:04:29.670 --> 00:04:33.670 Glory be to Him who makes slaves into kings through their obedience to Him. 00:04:33.670 --> 00:04:38.670 And glory be to Him who makes kings into slaves through their disobedience to Him.
