A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
Spiritual cultivation is a continuous process that never ends.
It is in the nature of the human soul
to fluctuate between obedience and disobedience,
and between guidance and misguidance.
Therefore, it requires constant follow-up and attention.
It is not enough to place it within a mold of guidance and obedience just once,
under the assumption that it will remain disciplined forever thereafter.
Rather, it is constantly overstepping the boundaries of that established mold.
At times it falters, and at others it strays.
Thus, there must be guidance each time to recalibrate it.
Through this, the difficulty and gravity of the process of cultivation become clear,
as does its perpetual necessity.
It is either this persistent, tireless effort,
or else it is loss.
