A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah. The name of Allah, al-'Aziz (the All-Mighty), and what it signifies. The name of Allah, al-'Aziz, appears very frequently in the Noble Qur'an. It occurs as many as eighty-eight times. In some instances, it appears with the definite article 'al'. In others, it appears without it. 'Izzah (might/honor) is the opposite of humiliation. It encompasses power, dominance, self-sufficiency, and nobility. Allah, glorified be He, possesses absolute and perfect might. It is the might of power, for He is the All-Powerful, the All-Mighty. It is the might of dominance, for He is the Subduer of all His creation. And it is the might of nobility and self-sufficiency. Thus, it is impossible for any of His creation to reach Him with harm or injury. Faith in this noble name. Yields the same fruits as faith in the names. Al-Qahhar (the Subduer), al-Qawi (the All-Strong), and al-Mutakabbir (the Supreme).
