In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammar Surat Al-Anbiya In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful We had given Abraham his senses before, and We knew him When he said to his father and his people, “What are these statues that you are devoted to?” Abraham was guided by Moses and Aaron And we guided him to the truth And We saved him from among his people and his family from worshiping idols We also did that to Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace We knew that he was a companion, a believer in God, and a monotheism toward Him When he said anything to them, these are the images in which you reside These statues were their idols that they worshiped They said, “We found our fathers worshiping it.” He said: You and your fathers were in clear error They said: Have you brought us the truth or are you one of the players? Abu Ibrahim and his people said to Ibrahim We found our fathers worshiping these idols We follow the religion of our fathers and worship it as they used to worship Abraham said, “It was you, O people, you and your fathers.” By worshiping her in deviance from the path of truth Make it clear to those who contemplate it with reason His father and his people said to him: Have you brought us the truth in what you say? Or are you Hazel, one of the players? He said: By your Lord, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them I am one of the witnesses to that By God, your idols will surely turn away after you have turned away Ibrahim told them Rather, I came to you with the truth to play Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them I am one of the witnesses that your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth By God, your idols will surely turn away after you have turned away He mentioned that Abraham, may God’s prayers be upon him He swore this oath secretly from his people and in secret And no one heard that from him except the one who revealed it to him When they said, “Whoever does this to our gods is one of the wrongdoers.” They said, “We heard a young man called Ibrahim mentioning them.” So He made them attractive and great for them so that they would return to Him He made them rubble, except great for the gods Abraham did not break his act so that they might be considered They know that if she does not defend herself, what Abraham did to her She is able to ward off others who wish her harm further So they return from what they are doing and stop worshiping it To his religion, monotheism of God, and disavowal of idols They said: Whoever does this to our gods is one of the wrongdoers They said, “We heard a young man called Ibrahim mentioning them.” They said, "Bring it before the eyes of the people so that they may bear witness." Abraham's people said when they saw their gods had vanished Whoever did this to our gods is the one who did this to our gods To whom are the wrongdoers, i.e. to whom do they do what he did not have the right to do? Those who heard him say it By God, your idols will surely turn away after you have turned away They said, “We heard a young man reminding them of a defect called Ibrahim.” Abraham's people said to each other So bring the one who did this to our gods in the eyes of the people Perhaps they will witness our punishment of him They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham? He said, “Rather, this eldest of them did it, so ask them if they speak.” They brought Abraham and told him Have you done this to our gods by breaking them, O Abraham? Abraham answered them Rather, this and the greatest of them did it So ask the gods who did that to it and broke it If they speak or express themselves Then they came back to themselves and said, “You are the wrongdoers.” Then they bowed their heads. You know what these people speak So they remembered and returned to their minds They looked at each other They said, “You are a people who are unjust to this man in your question of him.” Who did this to our gods? These are your gods to which he did what he did to your present So ask her and then prevail in the argument So they argued against Abraham with what was Abraham’s argument against them They said, “I know what these idols speak.” He said: Do you worship instead of God that which neither benefits you nor harms you? Fuck you and what you worship instead of God Do you not understand? Abraham said to his people O people, do you worship that which neither benefits you nor harms you? And you know that she did not prevent herself from those who wanted her harm Nor is she able to speak if she is asked about someone who does evil to her, so she can tell it Are you not ashamed of worshiping something as if it were such and such? Ugly to you and to the gods that you worship besides God Do you not understand the ugliness of what you do in your worship, which neither harms nor benefits? They said, "Burn him and support your gods, if you will." We said, O fire, be coolness and peace for Abraham And they intended a plot against him, so We made them the losers Some of Abraham's people said to others that they burned Abraham with fire Support your gods if you support them and do not want to abandon their worship They lit a fire for him to burn him, then threw him into it So we said to the fire, O fire, be coolness and peace for Abraham And they intended a plot against Abraham, so We made them perish And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds And We saved Abraham and Lot from their enemies, Nimrod and his people From the land of Iraq to the land that we have blessed, which is the land of the Levant And We gave him Isaac and Jacob as a voluntary offering, and We made each of them righteous And We gave to Abraham a son, Isaac, and a son, Jacob, and his son was a voluntary son for him They all made us work in obedience to God, avoiding sins And We made them imams who guided by Our command, and We revealed to them And We inspired them to do good deeds, establish prayer, and pay zakat And they were our worshippers And We made Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob imams to be followed in goodness In obedience to God and following His commands and prohibitions, they are followed and followed They guide people and invite them to God and to worship Him And We inspired, in what We inspired, do good deeds and establish prayer They were submissive to us and were not too arrogant to obey us and worship us And to Lot We gave him wisdom and knowledge and We saved him from the town that used to do evil things. Indeed, they were an evil and disobedient people. We admitted him into Our mercy. He is one of the righteous And We came to Lot as a judge between the adversaries And We gave him knowledge of his religion and the obligations that he owes to God And We saved him from Our torment, which We inflicted on the people of the village that used to do evil things It is the village of Sodom, to whose people Lot was sent They were evil people, violating God's command and disobeying Him We admitted Lot into our mercy by saving him from torment Lot was one of those who obeyed us and obeyed our command And Noah, when he called before, so We responded to him and saved him and his family from great distress And We helped him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were an evil people, so We drowned them all And remember, O Muhammad, Noah, when he called upon his Lord before you And by Abraham and Lot He asked us to destroy his people who denied God, so we answered his prayer And We saved him and the people of faith from his offspring and a refuge for them from the torment that befell the deniers from the flood and drowning And We helped Noah against the people who rejected Our arguments and evidence, so We saved him from them Noah's people were evil people who did bad deeds, disobeyed God and disobeyed His command And David and Solomon when they judged the letter, when the people’s sheep scattered therein, and we were witnesses to their judgment. So Solomon made it understandable, and to both of them we were given wisdom and knowledge, and with David we made the mountains sing their praises and the birds, and we were active. And remember David and Solomon, O Muhammad, when they ruled over the edge of the earth When I entered into this field, the other people's sheep seized it the night it was plowed and spoiled it We were for the judgment of David and Solomon and the people among whom they judged regarding what spoiled the sheep of the people of the sheep There are two witnesses from whom nothing is hidden from us, so we understood the issue in this regard: Solomon, not David They are all from David, Solomon, and the apostles whom he mentioned at the beginning of this Surah We were given prophecy and knowledge of God’s decrees, and We made the mountains and birds subservient with David to swim with him when he swam We had already decreed that I am the doer of that and the one who subjugates the mountains and the birds in the Mother of the Book with David, peace and blessings be upon him We taught him to make clothing for you to protect you from your punishment, so are you thankful? David taught us how to make a weapon for yourself, to protect you from being killed when you wear it and meet your enemies with it Do you, people, thank God for His blessings upon you, with what He taught you about the craftsmanship of fortified clothing in war and other of His blessings upon you? And for Solomon, the wind is a storm that flows at his command to the land which We have blessed and have knowledge of all things And We subjected to Solomon the son of David the wind, a storm and its winds, and the intensity of its blows, and the winds flowed by Solomon’s command to the Levant, which We had blessed. Our action to Suleiman, in terms of us subservient to him and giving him what we were given in terms of dominion and good character, was with our knowledge We know everything and nothing is hidden from us And among the devils are those who delve into Him and do work other than that, and We are their protectors We also subjected Solomon to the devils who would dive for him in the sea and do other work than that, such as building buildings, statues, and fighting. We were guardians of their deeds and their numbers Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation
