Who will buy what harms 00:01:32.189 --> 00:01:34.189 and does not benefit?" 00:01:34.189 --> 00:01:36.290 Sometimes he would take them 00:01:36.290 --> 00:01:38.290 to the water, 00:01:38.290 --> 00:01:40.290 dip their heads into it, 00:01:40.290 --> 00:01:42.290 and say, "Drink, 00:01:42.290 --> 00:01:44.290 O you gods," 00:01:44.290 --> 00:01:46.290 in mockery and derision 00:01:46.290 --> 00:01:49.250 of them in this 00:01:49.250 --> 00:01:51.250 ignorant society 00:01:51.250 --> 00:01:53.250 that was far removed from monotheism. 00:01:53.250 --> 00:01:55.250 The Friend of Allah (Khalil Allah), 00:01:55.250 --> 00:01:57.250 Ibrahim (peace be upon him), grew up 00:01:57.250 --> 00:01:59.250 detesting what 00:01:59.250 --> 00:02:01.250 his people were upon. 00:02:01.250 --> 00:02:03.250 He would often seclude himself 00:02:03.250 --> 00:02:05.250 away from them with his small flock, 00:02:05.250 --> 00:02:07.250 tending to them and caring for them. 00:02:07.250 --> 00:02:09.340 He was the only one 00:02:09.340 --> 00:02:11.340 among his people upon the sound natural disposition (fitrah) 00:02:11.340 --> 00:02:13.340 and the pure creed. 00:02:13.340 --> 00:02:15.340 So Allah chose him, 00:02:15.340 --> 00:02:17.340 selected him for prophethood, 00:02:17.340 --> 00:02:19.340 and sent him to his people 00:02:19.340 --> 00:02:21.340 to call them to Allah 00:02:21.340 --> 00:02:23.340 and warn them against what they were in 00:02:23.340 --> 00:02:25.340 of idolatry and polytheism. 00:02:25.340 --> 00:02:27.789 Ibrahim (peace be upon him) 00:02:27.789 --> 00:02:29.789 began his mission among his people. 00:02:29.789 --> 00:02:31.789 And 00:02:31.789 --> 00:02:33.789 the first thing he did 00:02:33.789 --> 00:02:35.860 was to call his father. 00:02:35.860 --> 00:02:37.860 He was gentle with him 00:02:37.860 --> 00:02:39.860 with the utmost gentleness, 00:02:39.860 --> 00:02:41.860 and addressed him with full respect. 00:02:41.860 --> 00:02:43.919 He said to him, 00:02:43.919 --> 00:02:45.919 as he said to his father: 00:02:45.919 --> 00:02:47.919 "O my father, why do you worship 00:02:47.919 --> 00:02:49.919 “When he said unto his father: O my father! Why worshippest thou that which heareth not nor seeth, nor can in aught avail thee?” (19:42) 00:02:49.919 --> 00:02:51.919 what neither hears nor sees, 00:02:51.919 --> 00:02:53.919 nor avails you anything?" 00:02:53.919 --> 00:02:55.919 "O my father, 00:02:55.919 --> 00:02:59.919 indeed, there has come to me 00:02:59.919 --> 00:03:01.919 “O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path.” (19:43) 00:03:01.919 --> 00:03:03.919 of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; 00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:05.919 follow me, 00:03:05.919 --> 00:03:07.919 and I will guide you to a straight 00:03:07.919 --> 00:03:09.919 path." 00:03:09.919 --> 00:03:11.919 "O my father, 00:03:11.919 --> 00:03:13.919 do not worship Satan; 00:03:15.919 --> 00:03:18.270 indeed, Satan 00:03:18.270 --> 00:03:20.270 has ever been, to the Most Merciful, 00:03:20.270 --> 00:03:22.270 disobedient." 00:03:22.270 --> 00:03:24.270 "O my father, 00:03:24.270 --> 00:03:26.270 indeed, I fear 00:03:26.270 --> 00:03:28.270 that there will touch you 00:03:28.270 --> 00:03:30.270 a punishment from the Most Merciful, 00:03:30.270 --> 00:03:32.270 indeed, I fear 00:03:32.270 --> 00:03:34.270 that there will touch you 00:03:34.270 --> 00:03:36.270 a punishment from the Most Merciful, 00:03:36.270 --> 00:03:38.270 and you will become to Satan 00:03:38.270 --> 00:03:40.270 a companion." 00:03:40.270 --> 00:03:42.270 And every time 00:03:42.270 --> 00:03:45.009 Ibrahim debated 00:03:45.009 --> 00:03:47.009 his father 00:03:47.009 --> 00:03:49.009 in private, 00:03:49.009 --> 00:03:51.009 or in a public discussion 00:03:51.009 --> 00:03:53.009 with his people, 00:03:53.009 --> 00:03:55.009 and he refused to listen to him, 00:03:55.009 --> 00:03:57.009 and rejected his call, 00:03:57.009 --> 00:03:59.009 and rebuked him and threatened him 00:03:59.009 --> 00:04:01.009 with expulsion and long abandonment, 00:04:01.009 --> 00:04:03.139 Ibrahim (peace be upon him) 00:04:03.139 --> 00:04:05.139 would do nothing 00:04:05.139 --> 00:04:07.139 but respond to him 00:04:07.139 --> 00:04:09.139 with a gentle manner and kind 00:04:09.139 --> 00:04:11.169 words, 00:04:11.169 --> 00:04:13.169 and promise to seek forgiveness for him 00:04:13.169 --> 00:04:16.740 as long as he was not forbidden from doing so. 00:04:16.740 --> 00:04:18.740 Ibrahim (peace be upon him) moved on 00:04:18.740 --> 00:04:20.740 to call his people, 00:04:20.740 --> 00:04:22.740 and began to debate them, 00:04:22.740 --> 00:04:24.740 hoping they would use 00:04:24.740 --> 00:04:26.740 their intellects 00:04:26.740 --> 00:04:28.740 and return from their error 00:04:28.740 --> 00:04:30.769 and misguidance. 00:04:30.769 --> 00:04:32.769 He said to them as 00:04:32.769 --> 00:04:34.769 every prophet said to his people: 00:04:34.769 --> 00:04:36.769 "Worship Allah and fear Him; 00:04:36.769 --> 00:04:38.769 that is best for you, 00:04:38.769 --> 00:04:40.800 if you should know." 00:04:40.800 --> 00:04:42.800 And he said to them: 00:04:42.800 --> 00:04:44.800 "Indeed, your worship of these idols 00:04:44.800 --> 00:04:46.800 that you fashion 00:04:46.800 --> 00:04:48.800 with your own hands 00:04:48.800 --> 00:04:50.800 is nothing but a clear falsehood, 00:04:50.800 --> 00:04:52.800 an evident error. 00:04:52.800 --> 00:04:54.800 So leave them, 00:04:54.800 --> 00:04:56.800 and worship Allah who created you 00:04:56.800 --> 00:04:58.800 and what you do. 00:04:58.800 --> 00:05:00.800 With Him is your provision, 00:05:00.800 --> 00:05:02.959 and to Him you shall return." 00:05:02.959 --> 00:05:04.959 He (peace be upon him) 00:05:04.959 --> 00:05:06.959 would demonstrate to them the helplessness of their gods, 00:05:06.959 --> 00:05:08.959 saying to them: 00:05:08.959 --> 00:05:10.959 "These gods that you worship, 00:05:10.959 --> 00:05:12.959 do they benefit you 00:05:12.959 --> 00:05:14.959 in anything, or do they harm you?" 00:05:14.959 --> 00:05:16.959 They would have 00:05:16.959 --> 00:05:18.959 no answer. 00:05:18.959 --> 00:05:20.959 They said, "We found 00:05:20.959 --> 00:05:22.959 our fathers doing likewise." 00:05:22.959 --> 00:05:24.990 So he answered them: 00:05:24.990 --> 00:05:26.990 "Have you then considered what 00:05:26.990 --> 00:05:28.990 you have been worshipping, 00:05:28.990 --> 00:05:30.990 you and your ancient forefathers? 00:05:30.990 --> 00:05:32.990 Indeed, they are 00:05:32.990 --> 00:05:34.990 enemies to me, 00:05:34.990 --> 00:05:38.300 except the Lord of the worlds." 00:05:38.300 --> 00:05:40.300 Then he began to debate them 00:05:40.300 --> 00:05:42.300 regarding their worship of the stars, 00:05:42.300 --> 00:05:44.430 the sun, and the moon. 00:05:44.430 --> 00:05:46.430 One day, 00:05:46.430 --> 00:05:48.430 when the sky was clear, 00:05:48.430 --> 00:05:50.430 he said to his people: 00:05:50.430 --> 00:05:52.430 "This is my Lord." 00:05:52.430 --> 00:05:54.430 Then he did not wait long 00:05:54.430 --> 00:05:56.430 before that star set. 00:05:56.430 --> 00:05:58.430 So Ibrahim 00:05:58.430 --> 00:06:00.459 (peace be upon him) said: 00:06:00.459 --> 00:06:02.459 "I do not love a god 00:06:02.459 --> 00:06:04.459 that disappears and leaves me." 00:06:04.459 --> 00:06:06.560 Then he turned to the moon 00:06:06.560 --> 00:06:08.560 and said, "This is my Lord." 00:06:08.560 --> 00:06:10.560 Then he did not wait long 00:06:10.560 --> 00:06:12.560 until the darkness vanished 00:06:12.560 --> 00:06:14.560 and the moon set. 00:06:14.560 --> 00:06:16.560 Then the sun rose, 00:06:16.560 --> 00:06:18.560 and he said, "This too 00:06:18.560 --> 00:06:20.560 is not a suitable god for me." 00:06:20.560 --> 00:06:22.560 Then he turned to the sun 00:06:22.560 --> 00:06:24.720 and said: 00:06:24.720 --> 00:06:26.720 "This is my Lord; 00:06:26.720 --> 00:06:28.720 this is greater than 00:06:28.720 --> 00:06:30.720 what came before it of the moon 00:06:30.720 --> 00:06:32.720 and the star." 00:06:32.720 --> 00:06:34.819 But when sunset came 00:06:34.819 --> 00:06:36.819 and the sun disappeared, 00:06:36.819 --> 00:06:38.819 he said to his people: 00:06:38.819 --> 00:06:40.819 "Indeed, I am free 00:06:40.819 --> 00:06:42.819 from what you associate with Allah." 00:06:42.819 --> 00:06:45.139 Allah the Exalted said: 00:06:45.139 --> 00:06:47.139 "And thus did We show Ibrahim 00:06:47.139 --> 00:06:49.139 the dominion of the heavens 00:06:49.139 --> 00:06:51.139 and the earth, 00:06:51.139 --> 00:06:53.139 that he might be among 00:06:53.139 --> 00:06:55.139 the certain [in faith]." 00:06:55.139 --> 00:06:57.139 So when the night 00:06:57.139 --> 00:06:59.139 When the night grew dark, 00:06:59.139 --> 00:07:01.139 he saw a star. 00:07:01.139 --> 00:07:03.139 He said, "This is 00:07:03.139 --> 00:07:05.139 my Lord." 00:07:05.139 --> 00:07:07.139 But when it set, 00:07:07.139 --> 00:07:09.139 he said, "I do not love 00:07:09.139 --> 00:07:11.139 those that set." 00:07:11.139 --> 00:07:13.139 Then, when he saw 00:07:13.139 --> 00:07:15.139 the moon rising, 00:07:15.139 --> 00:07:17.139 he said, "This is 00:07:17.139 --> 00:07:19.139 my Lord." 00:07:19.139 --> 00:07:21.139 But when it set, 00:07:21.139 --> 00:07:23.139 he said, "If my Lord does not guide me, 00:07:23.139 --> 00:07:25.139 I shall surely be 00:07:25.139 --> 00:07:27.139 among the people 00:07:27.139 --> 00:07:29.139 who are astray." 00:07:29.139 --> 00:07:31.360 Then, when 00:07:31.360 --> 00:07:33.360 he saw the sun 00:07:33.360 --> 00:07:35.360 rising, 00:07:35.360 --> 00:07:37.360 he said, "This is my Lord; 00:07:37.360 --> 00:07:39.360 this is greater." 00:07:39.360 --> 00:07:41.360 But when it set, 00:07:41.360 --> 00:07:43.360 he said, "O my people, 00:07:43.360 --> 00:07:45.360 I am innocent 00:07:45.360 --> 00:07:47.360 of that which 00:07:47.360 --> 00:07:49.779 you associate with Allah." 00:07:49.779 --> 00:07:51.779 "Indeed, I 00:07:51.779 --> 00:07:53.779 have turned my face toward Him who 00:07:53.779 --> 00:07:55.779 originated the heavens 00:07:55.779 --> 00:07:57.779 and the earth, inclining toward truth, 00:07:57.779 --> 00:07:59.779 and I am not 00:07:59.779 --> 00:08:01.779 of the polytheists." 00:08:01.779 --> 00:08:04.420 The stance of 00:08:04.420 --> 00:08:06.420 Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:08:06.420 --> 00:08:08.420 regarding these celestial bodies 00:08:08.420 --> 00:08:10.420 was a stance of debate, not a stance of 00:08:10.420 --> 00:08:12.420 observation. 00:08:12.420 --> 00:08:14.420 Ibrahim never doubted Allah, 00:08:14.420 --> 00:08:16.420 the Exalted and Majestic, 00:08:16.420 --> 00:08:18.420 nor did he ever think 00:08:18.420 --> 00:08:20.420 that the stars, the sun, or the moon 00:08:20.420 --> 00:08:22.420 could be lords. 00:08:22.420 --> 00:08:24.420 Rather, he did that 00:08:24.420 --> 00:08:26.420 for the sake of establishing the argument 00:08:26.420 --> 00:08:28.420 against them. 00:08:28.420 --> 00:08:30.420 This was part of the instruction Allah, the Exalted, gave him, 00:08:30.420 --> 00:08:32.419 as Allah, the Exalted, said 00:08:32.419 --> 00:08:34.419 after that debate: 00:08:34.419 --> 00:08:36.419 "And that is Our argument 00:08:36.419 --> 00:08:38.419 which We gave to Ibrahim 00:08:38.419 --> 00:08:41.730 against his people." 00:08:41.730 --> 00:08:43.730 After these debates 00:08:43.730 --> 00:08:45.730 and dialogues that proved to be of no 00:08:45.730 --> 00:08:47.730 avail with his people, 00:08:47.730 --> 00:08:49.730 Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:08:49.730 --> 00:08:51.730 wanted to demonstrate to them the folly 00:08:51.730 --> 00:08:53.730 of their minds, 00:08:53.730 --> 00:08:55.730 and that these idols could not ward off 00:08:55.730 --> 00:08:57.730 any harm from themselves, 00:08:57.730 --> 00:08:59.730 let alone ward it off 00:08:59.730 --> 00:09:01.730 from others. 00:09:01.730 --> 00:09:03.730 So, he waited for a festival day of theirs 00:09:03.730 --> 00:09:05.730 when they would go out to celebrate 00:09:05.730 --> 00:09:07.730 outside the city. 00:09:07.730 --> 00:09:09.730 He told them he would go out with them 00:09:09.730 --> 00:09:11.730 to participate in their festival, 00:09:11.730 --> 00:09:13.820 but then excused himself on account of illness. 00:09:13.820 --> 00:09:15.820 When they had left, 00:09:15.820 --> 00:09:17.820 he hurried to their idols, 00:09:17.820 --> 00:09:19.820 and found food 00:09:19.820 --> 00:09:21.820 prepared before them. 00:09:21.820 --> 00:09:23.820 He said to them, 00:09:23.820 --> 00:09:25.820 "Will you not eat? 00:09:25.820 --> 00:09:27.820 Answer, what is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 00:09:27.820 --> 00:09:29.820 Then he began 00:09:29.820 --> 00:09:31.820 striking the idols with an axe, 00:09:31.820 --> 00:09:33.820 breaking them into 00:09:33.820 --> 00:09:35.820 small 00:09:35.820 --> 00:09:37.820 pieces, 00:09:37.820 --> 00:09:39.820 leaving the largest one and hanging the axe upon it. 00:09:39.820 --> 00:09:42.049 Then he departed. 00:09:42.049 --> 00:09:44.049 When the people of Ibrahim returned, 00:09:44.049 --> 00:09:46.049 they found their gods 00:09:46.049 --> 00:09:48.049 smashed. 00:09:48.049 --> 00:09:50.049 They said, "Who has done this 00:09:50.049 --> 00:09:52.049 to our gods?" 00:09:52.049 --> 00:09:54.049 Then they remembered what had been threatened by 00:09:54.049 --> 00:09:56.049 Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:09:56.049 --> 00:09:58.049 regarding his plotting against their idols. 00:09:58.049 --> 00:10:00.049 They said, "We heard 00:10:00.049 --> 00:10:02.049 a young man mentioning them with ill intent, 00:10:02.049 --> 00:10:04.049 who is called Ibrahim." 00:10:04.049 --> 00:10:06.110 The elders 00:10:06.110 --> 00:10:08.110 and the notables of the people said, 00:10:08.110 --> 00:10:10.110 "Bring him before the eyes of the people, 00:10:10.110 --> 00:10:12.110 so that they may bear witness." 00:10:12.110 --> 00:10:14.500 When he came, 00:10:14.500 --> 00:10:16.500 Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:10:16.500 --> 00:10:18.500 they asked him in front of everyone, 00:10:18.500 --> 00:10:20.500 "Did you do this 00:10:20.500 --> 00:10:22.500 to our gods, O Ibrahim?" 00:10:22.500 --> 00:10:24.500 This was 00:10:24.500 --> 00:10:26.500 a very suitable moment 00:10:26.500 --> 00:10:28.500 for Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:10:28.500 --> 00:10:30.500 to manifest his call 00:10:30.500 --> 00:10:32.590 before everyone. 00:10:32.590 --> 00:10:34.590 He said to them, 00:10:34.590 --> 00:10:36.590 “He said: But this, their chief hath done it. So question them, if they can speak.” (21:63) 00:10:36.590 --> 00:10:38.590 "He became jealous of those idols 00:10:38.590 --> 00:10:40.590 that they were worshipped alongside him, 00:10:40.590 --> 00:10:42.590 so he smashed them." 00:10:42.590 --> 00:10:44.590 "So ask those broken idols, 00:10:44.590 --> 00:10:46.590 so they may tell you 00:10:46.590 --> 00:10:48.590 who did this to them, 00:10:48.590 --> 00:10:50.590 or ask their leader, 00:10:50.590 --> 00:10:52.590 perhaps he will tell you." 00:10:52.590 --> 00:10:54.820 Here, a moment of 00:10:54.820 --> 00:10:56.820 reflection came over them, 00:10:56.820 --> 00:10:58.820 turning inward, 00:10:58.820 --> 00:11:00.820 and they stood in contemplation. 00:11:00.820 --> 00:11:02.820 They accused themselves of wrongdoing 00:11:02.820 --> 00:11:04.820 for worshipping these idols 00:11:04.820 --> 00:11:06.820 that could not 00:11:06.820 --> 00:11:08.820 defend 00:11:08.820 --> 00:11:11.139 themselves. 00:11:11.139 --> 00:11:13.139 But this pause did not last long, 00:11:13.139 --> 00:11:15.139 as they quickly relapsed 00:11:15.139 --> 00:11:17.139 and said, 00:11:17.139 --> 00:11:19.139 “And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not.” (21:65) 00:11:19.139 --> 00:11:21.139 "They do not speak." 00:11:21.139 --> 00:11:23.139 Here, Ibrahim, 00:11:23.139 --> 00:11:25.139 peace be upon him, spoke out before everyone 00:11:25.139 --> 00:11:27.139 and said to them, 00:11:27.139 --> 00:11:29.139 rebuking them, 00:11:29.139 --> 00:11:31.139 "Do you worship these idols instead of Allah, 00:11:31.139 --> 00:11:33.139 while they do not speak, 00:11:33.139 --> 00:11:35.139 nor do they benefit themselves, 00:11:35.139 --> 00:11:37.139 nor others, 00:11:37.139 --> 00:11:39.139 nor do they cause harm? 00:11:39.139 --> 00:11:41.139 Fie upon you! 00:11:41.139 --> 00:11:43.139 Do you not have minds 00:11:43.139 --> 00:11:46.190 with which to reason?" 00:11:46.190 --> 00:11:48.190 It was confirmed to those fools 00:11:48.190 --> 00:11:50.190 that the perpetrator was Ibrahim, 00:11:50.190 --> 00:11:52.190 peace be upon him. 00:11:52.190 --> 00:11:54.190 So they began to consult on the method 00:11:54.190 --> 00:11:56.190 by which they would take revenge 00:11:56.190 --> 00:11:58.190 for their gods, 00:11:58.190 --> 00:12:00.190 deciding to kill him in the most terrible way. 00:12:00.190 --> 00:12:02.220 They said, 00:12:02.220 --> 00:12:04.220 "Burn Ibrahim, 00:12:04.220 --> 00:12:06.220 and take revenge for your gods, 00:12:06.220 --> 00:12:08.220 and avenge them." 00:12:08.220 --> 00:12:10.669 Those transgressors began 00:12:10.669 --> 00:12:12.669 to arrange for the burning of 00:12:12.669 --> 00:12:14.669 the Prophet of Allah, Ibrahim, peace be upon him. 00:12:14.669 --> 00:12:16.669 They ignited a fire, 00:12:16.669 --> 00:12:18.669 a great one, 00:12:18.669 --> 00:12:20.669 taking a month to fuel it 00:12:20.669 illness, 00:12:28.669 --> 00:12:30.669 or if her newborn were healed, 00:12:30.669 --> 00:12:32.669 she would gather firewood 00:12:32.669 --> 00:12:34.669 to contribute to the kindling of 00:12:34.669 --> 00:12:36.669 that fire. 00:12:36.669 --> 00:12:38.669 And the gecko in that place 00:12:38.669 --> 00:12:40.669 was blowing into that fire 00:12:40.669 --> 00:12:42.740 to participate in fueling it. 00:12:42.740 --> 00:12:44.740 They kindled a great fire, 00:12:44.740 --> 00:12:46.740 to the extent that they 00:12:46.740 --> 00:12:48.740 could not even approach 00:12:48.740 --> 00:12:50.740 it due to its intense heat. 00:12:50.740 --> 00:12:52.740 Even birds, 00:12:52.740 --> 00:12:54.740 if they passed by it, 00:12:54.740 --> 00:12:56.740 would fall down dead. 00:12:56.740 --> 00:12:59.950 On the appointed day, 00:12:59.950 --> 00:13:01.950 they stripped Ibrahim, 00:13:01.950 --> 00:13:03.950 peace be upon him, 00:13:03.950 --> 00:13:05.980 of his clothes, 00:13:05.980 --> 00:13:07.980 then placed him in a catapult, 00:13:07.980 --> 00:13:09.980 and threw him into the fire 00:13:09.980 --> 00:13:12.019 from a distance. 00:13:12.019 --> 00:13:14.019 The Friend of Allah, Ibrahim, 00:13:14.019 --> 00:13:16.019 peace be upon him, said, 00:13:16.019 --> 00:13:18.019 "Sufficient for me is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs." 00:13:18.019 --> 00:13:20.210 So Allah, the Exalted, revealed 00:13:20.210 --> 00:13:22.210 to that fire, 00:13:22.210 --> 00:13:24.210 "Be coolness 00:13:24.210 --> 00:13:26.210 for My servant and My friend, 00:13:26.210 --> 00:13:28.210 Ibrahim, so do not 00:13:28.210 --> 00:13:30.210 burn his body, 00:13:30.210 --> 00:13:32.210 and be safety 00:13:32.210 --> 00:13:34.210 for him, so he does not perish 00:13:34.210 --> 00:13:36.210 from the cold, and be 00:13:36.210 --> 00:13:38.210 safety, so do not break 00:13:38.210 --> 00:13:40.429 any of his bones." 00:13:40.429 --> 00:13:42.429 And thus, Allah, the Exalted, saved 00:13:42.429 --> 00:13:44.429 Ibrahim, peace be upon him, 00:13:44.429 --> 00:13:46.429 from their plotting. 00:13:46.429 --> 00:13:48.429 And he stood up and walked out from the midst of the fire 00:13:48.429 --> 00:13:50.429 before their very eyes. 00:13:50.429 --> 00:13:52.429 And thus does He save 00:13:52.429 --> 00:13:54.429 the God-fearing. 00:13:54.429 --> 00:13:56.850 Allah the Exalted said: 00:13:56.850 --> 00:13:58.850 "And We had certainly given 00:13:58.850 --> 00:14:00.850 Ibrahim his guidance 00:14:00.850 --> 00:14:02.850 before, 00:14:02.850 --> 00:14:04.850 and We were of him 00:14:04.850 --> 00:14:06.850 well-knowing." 00:14:06.850 --> 00:14:08.850 When he said to his father 00:14:08.850 --> 00:14:10.850 and his people, "What are these 00:14:10.850 --> 00:14:12.850 statues to which 00:14:12.850 --> 00:14:14.850 you 00:14:14.850 --> 00:14:16.850 are devoted?" 00:14:16.850 --> 00:14:18.850 They said, "We found 00:14:18.850 --> 00:14:20.850 our forefathers 00:14:20.850 --> 00:14:22.850 worshipping them." 00:14:22.850 --> 00:14:24.850 He said, "You have certainly been, 00:14:24.850 --> 00:14:26.850 you 00:14:26.850 --> 00:14:28.850 and your forefathers, 00:14:28.850 --> 00:14:30.850 in manifest 00:14:30.850 --> 00:14:32.850 error." 00:14:32.850 --> 00:14:34.850 They said, "Have you come to us 00:14:34.850 --> 00:14:36.850 with the truth, or are you 00:14:36.850 --> 00:14:38.850 one of those who play?" 00:14:38.850 --> 00:14:40.850 He said, "Rather, 00:14:40.850 --> 00:14:42.850 your Lord is the Lord of the heavens 00:14:42.850 --> 00:14:44.850 and the earth, who 00:14:44.850 --> 00:14:46.850 originated them, 00:14:46.850 --> 00:14:48.850 who originated them, 00:14:48.850 --> 00:14:50.850 originated them, 00:14:50.850 --> 00:14:52.850 and I am of that 00:14:52.850 --> 00:14:54.850 among the witnesses." 00:14:56.850 --> 00:14:58.850 "And by Allah, I will surely plot 00:14:58.850 --> 00:15:00.850 against your idols 00:15:00.850 --> 00:15:02.850 after 00:15:02.850 --> 00:15:04.850 you have turned and gone away." 00:15:04.850 --> 00:15:06.850 So he made them 00:15:06.850 --> 00:15:08.850 into fragments, except 00:15:08.850 --> 00:15:10.850 a large one among them, that perhaps 00:15:10.850 --> 00:15:12.850 they might return to it. 00:15:14.850 --> 00:15:16.850 They said, "Who has done 00:15:16.850 --> 00:15:18.850 this to our gods? 00:15:18.850 --> 00:15:20.850 Indeed, he is among 00:15:20.850 --> 00:15:22.850 the wrongdoers." 00:15:22.850 --> 00:15:24.850 They said, "We heard a youth 00:15:24.850 --> 00:15:26.850 mentioning them, who is called 00:15:26.850 --> 00:15:28.850 Ibrahim." 00:15:28.850 --> 00:15:30.850 They said, 00:15:30.850 --> 00:15:32.850 "Then bring him before 00:15:32.850 --> 00:15:34.850 the eyes of the people, 00:15:34.850 --> 00:15:36.850 that they may testify." 00:15:36.850 --> 00:15:38.850 They said, "Is it you 00:15:38.850 --> 00:15:40.850 who has done this 00:15:40.850 --> 00:15:42.850 to our gods, O 00:15:42.850 --> 00:15:44.850 Ibrahim?" 00:15:44.850 --> 00:15:46.850 He said, "Rather, this large one of them did it, 00:15:46.850 --> 00:15:48.850 this one; 00:15:48.850 --> 00:15:50.850 so ask them, 00:15:50.850 --> 00:15:52.850 so ask them, 00:15:52.850 --> 00:15:54.850 if they are able to speak." 00:15:56.850 --> 00:15:58.850 So they returned to 00:15:58.850 --> 00:16:00.850 themselves and said, 00:16:00.850 --> 00:16:02.850 "Indeed, you 00:16:02.850 --> 00:16:04.850 are the wrongdoers." 00:16:06.850 --> 00:16:08.850 “And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not.” (21:65) 00:16:08.850 --> 00:16:10.850 "You have already known 00:16:10.850 --> 00:16:12.850 that these 00:16:12.850 --> 00:16:14.850 do not speak." 00:16:14.850 --> 00:16:17.649 He said, "Do you then worship 00:16:17.649 --> 00:16:19.649 instead of Allah 00:16:19.649 --> 00:16:21.649 that which does not benefit you 00:16:21.649 --> 00:16:23.649 at all, nor 00:16:23.649 --> 00:16:25.649 harm you?" 00:16:25.649 --> 00:16:27.649 "Fie upon you and upon what 00:16:27.649 --> 00:16:29.649 you worship instead of 00:16:29.649 --> 00:16:31.649 Allah! 00:16:31.649 --> 00:16:33.649 Do you not then use your intellect?" 00:16:33.649 --> 00:16:35.649 They said, "Burn him 00:16:35.649 --> 00:16:37.649 and support 00:16:37.649 --> 00:16:39.649 your gods, if 00:16:39.649 --> 00:16:41.649 you are to act." 00:16:41.649 --> 00:16:43.649 We said, "O fire, 00:16:43.649 --> 00:16:45.649 be coolness 00:16:45.649 --> 00:16:47.649 and safety for 00:16:47.649 --> 00:16:49.649 Ibrahim." 00:16:49.649 --> 00:16:51.649 And they intended for him 00:16:51.649 --> 00:16:53.649 a plot, 00:16:53.649 --> 00:16:55.649 but We made them 00:16:55.649 --> 00:16:57.649 the greatest losers. 00:16:57.649 --> 00:17:00.830 The hadith continues, 00:17:00.830 --> 00:17:02.830 if Allah wills. 00:17:02.830 --> 00:17:04.829 And Allah knows best. 00:17:04.829 --> 00:17:06.829 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 00:17:06.829 --> 00:17:08.829 And may Allah send blessings and peace 00:17:08.829 --> 00:17:10.829 upon our Prophet Muhammad,
