Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds,
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
Master of the Day of Judgment.
“Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.” (1:5)
Guide us to the straight path—
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor,
Not of those who have incurred anger, nor of those who are astray.
And when Saul marched forth with the soldiers,
“And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Whosoever therefore drinketh thereof he is not of me, and whosoever tasteth it not he is of me, save him who taketh (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. But they drank thereof, all save a few of them. And after he had crossed (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: We have no power this day against Goliath and his hosts. But those who knew that they would meet Allah exclaimed: How many a little company hath overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave! Allah is with the steadfast.” (2:249)

"And whoever does not taste of it is indeed of me,
Except for one who scoops up a single handful with his hand."
“And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Whosoever therefore drinketh thereof he is not of me, and whosoever tasteth it not he is of me, save him who taketh (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. But they drank thereof, all save a few of them. And after he had crossed (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: We have no power this day against Goliath and his hosts. And when he and those who believed with him had crossed it,
“And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Against Goliath and his forces.
“And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Whosoever therefore drinketh thereof he is not of me, and whosoever tasteth it not he is of me, save him who taketh (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. But they drank thereof, all save a few of them. And after he had crossed (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: We have no power this day against Goliath and his hosts. But those who knew that they would meet Allah exclaimed: How many a little company hath overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave! Allah is with the steadfast.” (2:249)
A small company
Has overcome a mighty force,
By Allah's permission,
And Allah is with the patient.
“And when they went into the field against Goliath and his hosts they said: Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk.” (2:250)
They prayed, "Our Lord, pour down upon us
Patience,
Our Lord, pour down upon us
Patience,
And make firm our footsteps,
And grant us victory over the disbelieving people."
"And grant us victory over the disbelieving people."
So they routed them by Allah's permission,
And David slew Goliath,
And Allah gave him kingship and wisdom,
And taught him,
And taught him of whatever He willed.
The earth would indeed have been corrupted,
But Allah is full of bounty to the worlds.
But Allah is full of bounty—in the verse:
Truly, you are among the messengers.
Those messengers: We favored some over others;
And some He raised in rank;
And to Jesus, son of Mary, We gave clear proofs,
And supported him with the Holy Spirit.
And if Allah had willed, those who came after them would not have fought,
But among them were some who believed, and among them were some who disbelieved;
And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought.
Has grasped the most trustworthy handhold.
"How You give life to the dead." He said, "Take four birds and incline them toward you,
Then place a part of them on each hill, then summon them;
They will come to you in haste."
Seven spikes of grain, each spike holding a hundred grains.
Your spending must not be followed by reminders of generosity or hurt,
Leaving it smooth and bare. They have no control over anything they have earned.
Even if heavy rain does not strike it, a light drizzle suffices.
He grants wisdom to whom He wills,
And whoever is granted wisdom has certainly been given abundant good.
If you disclose your charitable offerings, it is well;
Praise be to Allah, who sent down from the heavens,
Praise be to Allah by the count of all that crawls,
Praise be to Allah to the fullness of Himself, the weight of His Throne,
And the ink of His words.
O Allah, all praise belongs to You,
And all gratitude is due to You,
And unto You all affairs return.
You are truly worthy of all praise,
And You are truly worthy of all thanks,
And You are over all things competent.
Praise be to You, our Lord, until You are pleased,
And praise be to You after You are pleased.
Praise be to You—abundant praise,
Pure, wholesome, and blessed.
Praise be to You as befits
The majesty of Your Countenance and the greatness of Your Sovereignty.
Praise be to Allah.
Praise be to You, filling the heavens
And filling the earth with might,
Majesty, awe,
Power, and supreme grandeur.
O Exalted are You!
So exalted is Allah when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning.
“Unto Him be praise in the heavens and the earth! - and at the sun's decline and in the noonday.” (30:18)
And in the heavens and the earth, and in the late afternoon,
And when you enter the noon hour.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad
Whenever he is remembered by those who remember,
O Allah, send peace and blessings
Upon the Chosen Prophet, the best of creation.
And take us into Your care among those You have taken into Your care,
And protect us from the evil of what You have decreed;
For indeed, You decree and none can decree against You.
O Allah, in Your mercy we seek aid:
Rectify all of our affairs,
And do not leave us to ourselves for the blink of an eye.
O Turner of the hearts,
Make firm our hearts,
Make our hearts firm upon Your religion.
O Director of the hearts,
Direct our hearts
Toward faith,
And grant our souls piety,
And purify them, for You are the best to purify them; You are their Guardian.
You are the Bestower.
Enable us to be grateful for Your favor which
You have bestowed upon the Muslims.
Our Lord, grant us
“Our Lord! And give us that which Thou hast promised to us by Thy messengers. Confound us not upon the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Thou breakest not the tryst.” (3:194)
And do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection;
Indeed, You never fail in Your promise.
Our Lord, forgive us
And our brothers who
Preceded us in faith,
“And those who came (into the faith) after them say: Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who believe. Our Lord! Thou art Full of Pity, Merciful.” (59:10)
And leave no ill-will in our hearts toward those who believe.
And in the Hereafter good,
And save us from the torment of the Fire.
And save us from the torment of the Fire.
Pardon us, for You are Pardoning;
You love to pardon, so pardon us.
Whoever fasts and stands on Laylat al-Qadr in faith,
O Allah, allow us to reach Laylat al-Qadr.
O Allah, relieve our distress,
Our Lord, and bless those who requested our prayers
And entrusted us to pray for the Muslim men and Muslim women.
Grant them health and well-being,
And heal them with a swift recovery;
Adorn them with piety,
And make all their deeds done for Your good pleasure.
Rectify for them their offspring,
And make their progeny righteous.
O Allah, whoever among our parents has passed away,
Pardon them, and make firm
Their feet upon the Sirat.
Admit them into Paradise
By Your mercy, not merely through their deeds,
And gather them with the prophets,
The steadfast affirmers of truth,
The martyrs, and the righteous;
And an excellent companionship are they!
I ask You for all the good
That Your servant
And Prophet Muhammad
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked of You,
And we seek refuge in You from the evil
From which Your servant
And Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) sought refuge.
O Allah, we ask You for good—
All of it, the immediate
And the delayed,
What we have known of it
And what we have not known; and we seek refuge from evil, all of it.
O Allah, rectify for us our religion,
And rectify for us our worldly life in which is our livelihood,
And rectify for us our Hereafter to which is our return,
And make death a relief for us from every evil.
O Allah, make us guided and guiding others,
Righteous and reforming,
Neither disgraced nor humiliated; we seek refuge in Your good pleasure from Your wrath,
And in Your pardon from Your punishment;
And we seek refuge in You from You: we cannot enumerate Your praise;
You are as You have praised Yourself.
O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer,
In Your mercy we seek aid, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
And may the blessings of Allah, the Exalted, be upon the best of His creation, Muhammad,
And upon his family and all his Companions,
And his purified wives,
And the mothers of the believers, and the Tabi'un, and those who follow them
In righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
