Surat Al-Tawbah
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
And the believers would not have fled entirely
Were it not for the scattering of a group from each group among them to gain understanding in the religion
And to warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware
The believers would not have fled all together and left the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, alone
But if the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went in secret
To flee with it from every sect of the Arab tribes
Let the alienated sect agree with what they saw of God’s victory for the people of his religion
Thus, he understands from his examination of the truth about the knowledge of Islam and its appearance in the religions
And let them warn their people and warn them that God’s punishment will not befall them
Like what was revealed to those who saw and witnessed those whom the Muslims defeated when they returned to them from their invasion
Perhaps their people will beware and believe in God and His Messenger
Beware lest what befell befall upon them befall those who reported their news
O you who have believed, fight those of the disbelievers next to you
And let them find harshness in you, and know that God is with the righteous
O you who have believed God and His Messenger
Fight the disbelievers who are your guardian rather than those of them who return
So start fighting the closest ones, and the one closest to you will have a home
Without the furthest, the furthest
And let these infidels among you whom you are fighting find hardship for them
And be certain when you fight them that God is with you and will support you against them
If you fear God and fear in fulfilling His obligations, then you will abstain from disobeying Him
God is the supporter of those who fear Him
And when a surah is revealed, some of them say:
Which of you has this faith increased?
As for those who believe, it has increased their faith and they rejoice
And when God sent down a surah from the surahs of the Qur’an to His Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace
Among these hypocrites are those who say:
People
Which of you has this surah added to in belief in God and His verses?
As for those who believe, the Surah that was revealed increased their faith
They rejoice in the faith and certainty God has given them
As for those in whose hearts is a disease, it has increased their abomination to their abomination, and they died while they were disbelievers
As for those in whose hearts is a disease of hypocrisy and doubt about the religion of God
The Surah that was revealed increased their doubt about God’s revelation
They did not believe it
This was a stinking addition to their previous stinking and hypocritical actions
These hypocrites died while disbelieving in God and His signs
First, they see that they are tested once or twice every year, then they do not repent, nor do they remember
First he sees these hypocrites
God tests them once in some years and twice in others
Then, despite the affliction that befalls them from God, they do not repent of their hypocrisy
Nor do they remember what they see of God’s proofs and what they see of His signs
But they persist in their hypocrisy
When a surah was revealed, they looked at each other
Did anyone see you? Then they left
God changed their hearts as a people who do not understand
If a surah from the Qur’an was revealed, it contains a defect in these hypocrites
They are with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace
They looked at each other
Does anyone see you, if you talk or discuss the faults of the people, tell them about them?
Then they got up and left from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace
They did not listen to the reading of the surah that contained their faults
May God distract the hearts of these hypocrites from goodness and success
Because they are a people who do not understand God’s sermon
Arrogance and hypocrisy
A messenger has come to you from among yourselves, dear to him is what you have, anxious for you towards the believers, compassionate and merciful
The Messenger of God has come to you, O people, from yourselves, and you know him
It is dear to him that hardship, misfortune, and harm befall you
Eager to guide you astray and bring them to repentance with the believers, He is a Merciful Companion
If they turn away, say: Allah is sufficient for me, there is no god but Him
I put my trust in Him and He is the Lord of the Great Throne
O Muhammad, if you take charge of these people
They did not accept the advice I gave them for the sake of God
So say: My Lord is sufficient for me, there is no god but Him
I trusted in Him and relied on His help
He is my supporter and my helper
He is the one who owns everything without Him
All kings are his mamluks and slaves
Because the great throne belongs to kings
He is the greatest king like no other
