What was said about concealing some knowledge for the sake of self-interest
And do not broadcast it to everyone
Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said
According to one's lie
To happen with everything he heard
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said
I learned it from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace

As for one of them, I spread it among the people
As for the other
If I spread it, this pharynx would be cut off
Al-Shaabi, may God have mercy on him, said
Do not withhold knowledge from those who seek it, lest you sin
Do not talk about it to anyone but his family, and you will be sinning
On the authority of Yazid bin Maysarah, may God have mercy on him
He said: Do not give away your knowledge to someone who does not ask for it
Do not scatter the pearl among those who do not pick it up
Do not share your goods with someone who will steal them from you
On the authority of Kathir bin Murrah, may God have mercy on him, he said:
Do not speak falsehood to the wise, lest they reject you
Do not speak wisdom to fools, lest they deceive you
Do not withhold knowledge from its possessors, lest you sin
Do not put it in someone other than its proper place, lest you be ignorant

Do not feed your food to someone who does not desire it
Abdul Rahman bin Mahdi, may God have mercy on him, said
The man is not an imam to be followed

Determination in seeking knowledge
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said
When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, died
I told a man from the Ansar
Come, so-and-so, let us ask the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace

How long does a man write?
He said until he dies
A man said to him: I am seeking knowledge
My mother forbids me to do that
