In the northwest of the Arabian Peninsula, 00:00:50.030 --> 00:00:53.030 Between the regions of Hijaz and Tabuk, 00:00:53.030 --> 00:00:56.030 The tribe of Thamud used to dwell. 00:00:56.030 --> 00:00:59.030 In a region known as Al-Hijr, 00:00:59.030 --> 00:01:02.030 Located away from the Prophetic city of Medina, 00:01:02.030 --> 00:01:05.030 By approximately 400 kilometers. 00:01:05.030 --> 00:01:07.030 They were an Arab tribe. 00:01:07.030 --> 00:01:11.030 Their people were arrogant and wicked, 00:01:11.030 --> 00:01:14.030 And they were also highly skilled, 00:01:14.030 --> 00:01:17.030 Meaning they were masters of carving into the mountains. 00:01:17.030 --> 00:01:20.030 Allah had granted them great physical strength, 00:01:20.030 --> 00:01:23.030 So they began carving homes out of the mountains, 00:01:23.030 --> 00:01:26.030 And building palaces in the plains. 00:01:26.030 --> 00:01:31.030 Despite this, Allah had expanded their provision, 00:01:31.030 --> 00:01:35.030 Providing them with gardens, crops, and palm trees. 00:01:35.030 --> 00:01:38.030 Allah had granted them long lives on earth, 00:01:38.030 --> 00:01:41.030 So they lived for a very long time, 00:01:41.030 --> 00:01:44.030 And flourished in the land for many years. 00:01:44.030 --> 00:01:48.060 Yet, despite all this bounty they enjoyed, 00:01:48.060 --> 00:01:52.060 They did not thank Allah, the Glorified and Exalted. 00:01:52.060 --> 00:01:55.060 Instead, they associated partners with Him and worshipped idols, 00:01:55.060 --> 00:01:57.060 They were lax regarding forbidden acts, 00:01:57.060 --> 00:02:00.060 And they committed grave sins. 00:02:00.060 --> 00:02:03.989 Among the people of Thamud, and among their nobles, 00:02:03.989 --> 00:02:06.989 Was a man called Salih. 00:02:06.989 --> 00:02:09.990 He was of noble and high lineage among them, 00:02:09.990 --> 00:02:12.990 And possessed sound judgment and wisdom. 00:02:12.990 --> 00:02:15.990 They would turn to him to resolve their disputes, 00:02:15.990 --> 00:02:19.990 And consult him in the affairs of their lives. 00:02:19.990 --> 00:02:24.060 Salih was not pleased with the polytheism his people practiced, 00:02:24.060 --> 00:02:27.060 Nor with their ingratitude for the blessings of Allah. 00:02:27.060 --> 00:02:30.060 So he withdrew from them to tend to his sheep, 00:02:30.060 --> 00:02:34.060 Eating of their meat and drinking of their milk. 00:02:34.060 --> 00:02:37.060 Then Allah, the Exalted, chose him as a prophet, 00:02:37.060 --> 00:02:40.060 And sent him to his people as a messenger, 00:02:40.060 --> 00:02:43.060 To warn and caution them, 00:02:43.060 --> 00:02:46.060 And to guide them back to the path of righteousness. 00:02:46.060 --> 00:02:50.729 Salih, peace be upon him, obeyed the command of Allah, 00:02:50.729 --> 00:02:54.729 And began calling his people to monotheism. 00:02:54.729 --> 00:02:56.729 He said to them, 00:02:56.729 --> 00:03:00.729 "O my people, worship Allah; you have no god other than Him." 00:03:00.729 --> 00:03:05.729 Just as was the call of all the prophets before and after him, 00:03:05.729 --> 00:03:07.729 For their message was one. 00:03:07.729 --> 00:03:10.729 They did not compete with their people for positions of power, 00:03:10.729 --> 00:03:14.729 Nor did they ask them for any of their wealth. 00:03:14.729 --> 00:03:20.819 They only called them to worship Allah alone, with no partner. 00:03:20.819 --> 00:03:26.819 But how did Thamud respond to the call of their prophet Salih, peace be upon him? 00:03:26.819 --> 00:03:32.050 They denied him, mocked him, and rejected his message. 00:03:32.050 --> 00:03:34.050 They said to him, 00:03:34.050 --> 00:03:38.050 "O Salih, we used to see wisdom in you, 00:03:38.050 --> 00:03:42.050 And we counted you among our nobles. 00:03:42.050 --> 00:03:47.050 So how is it that you now forbid us from worshipping what our fathers worshipped? 00:03:47.050 --> 00:03:50.050 Do you want us to believe you? 00:03:50.050 --> 00:03:55.050 We are in doubt regarding your words and suspicious of your affair. 00:03:55.050 --> 00:03:58.050 You, O Salih, are merely bewitched." 00:03:58.050 --> 00:04:02.240 Salih, peace be upon him, did not pay heed to their words, 00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:05.240 But continued to call them, warn them, 00:04:05.240 --> 00:04:09.240 And frighten them with the punishment of Allah, 00:04:09.240 --> 00:04:14.240 Reminding them of the blessings Allah had bestowed upon them, 00:04:14.240 --> 00:04:18.240 And warning them of the fate of the perished nations before them, 00:04:18.240 --> 00:04:20.240 Like the people of 'Ad. 00:04:20.240 --> 00:04:22.300 But they abandoned their reason, 00:04:22.300 --> 00:04:26.300 And persisted in their tyranny and stubbornness. 00:04:26.300 --> 00:04:28.300 They said mockingly, 00:04:28.300 --> 00:04:32.300 "Could Allah find no one else to send to us?" 00:04:32.300 --> 00:04:37.300 "And if we follow you, we would be worse than the insane." 00:04:37.300 --> 00:04:40.529 Allah, the Exalted, says: 00:04:40.529 --> 00:04:44.529 "And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. 00:04:44.529 --> 00:04:47.529 He said, 'O my people, worship Allah; 00:04:47.529 --> 00:04:51.529 You have no god other than Him. 00:04:51.529 --> 00:04:55.529 “And unto (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him. He brought you forth from the earth and hath made you husband it. So ask forgiveness of Him and turn unto Him repentant. Lo! my Lord is Nigh, Responsive.” (11:61) 00:04:55.529 --> 00:04:59.529 And settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him, 00:04:59.529 --> 00:05:05.529 Then repent to Him.' 00:05:05.529 --> 00:05:11.850 “And unto (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him. He brought you forth from the earth and hath made you husband it. So ask forgiveness of Him and turn unto Him repentant. Lo! we verily are in grave doubt concerning that to which thou callest us.” (11:62) 00:05:38.420 --> 00:05:40.420 And the Exalted says: 00:05:40.420 --> 00:05:43.420 "Thamud denied the messengers. 00:05:43.420 --> 00:05:50.420 “When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?” (26:142) 00:05:50.420 --> 00:05:54.649 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 00:05:54.649 --> 00:05:57.649 So fear Allah and obey me. 00:05:57.649 --> 00:06:05.649 And I do not ask you for it any payment; my reward is only from the Lord of the worlds. 00:06:05.649 --> 00:06:10.649 Will you be left in what is here, secure, 00:06:10.649 --> 00:06:15.649 Within gardens and springs, 00:06:15.649 --> 00:06:20.649 And crops and palm trees with soft fruit? 00:06:20.649 --> 00:06:26.649 And you carve from the mountains, homes, with skill. 00:06:26.649 --> 00:06:30.970 So fear Allah and obey me." 00:06:30.970 --> 00:06:32.970 And the Exalted says: 00:06:32.970 --> 00:06:36.000 "Thamud denied the warners." 00:06:36.000 --> 00:06:42.000 “For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.” (54:24) 00:06:42.000 --> 00:06:46.000 “For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.” (54:24) 00:06:46.000 --> 00:06:50.000 “Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar.” (54:25) 00:06:50.000 --> 00:06:53.000 “Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar.” (54:25) 00:06:53.000 --> 00:06:58.000 “(Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar.” (54:26) 00:06:58.000 --> 00:07:03.660 Then the people of Thamud resorted to a method of defiance, 00:07:03.660 --> 00:07:06.660 And demanded of Salih, peace be upon him, 00:07:06.660 --> 00:07:11.660 That he bring them a sign as proof of his truthfulness and evidence for his claim. 00:07:11.660 --> 00:07:18.790 They asked him to bring forth a she-camel from the great rock near their well. 00:07:18.790 --> 00:07:21.790 And they promised him that if he did what they asked, 00:07:21.790 --> 00:07:25.790 They would believe in him and accept his truth. 00:07:25.790 --> 00:07:29.019 So Salih, peace be upon him, prayed to his Lord, 00:07:29.019 --> 00:07:32.019 And asked Him to grant them what they requested, 00:07:32.019 --> 00:07:35.019 Out of his desire for them to embrace Islam. 00:07:35.019 --> 00:07:38.019 So Allah answered him, 00:07:38.019 --> 00:07:40.019 And gave them what they asked, 00:07:40.019 --> 00:07:43.019 But under specific conditions. 00:07:43.019 --> 00:07:45.240 The rock split open, 00:07:45.240 --> 00:07:47.240 And the people witnessed the she-camel, 00:07:47.240 --> 00:07:50.240 Emerging from that solid rock, 00:07:50.240 --> 00:07:54.240 A sign for the Prophet of Allah, Salih, peace be upon him, 00:07:54.240 --> 00:07:56.240 And a proof against them. 00:07:56.240 --> 00:08:00.459 Their prophet Salih, peace be upon him, said to them, 00:08:00.459 --> 00:08:05.459 "Allah has brought forth this she-camel for you as you requested. 00:08:05.459 --> 00:08:09.459 She shall have her day to drink from the well, 00:08:09.459 --> 00:08:11.459 And you shall have your day to drink. 00:08:11.459 --> 00:08:14.459 Do not interfere with her on her drinking day, 00:08:14.459 --> 00:08:18.459 And let this she-camel graze in the land of Allah, 00:08:18.459 --> 00:08:21.459 And do not touch her with harm." 00:08:21.459 --> 00:08:24.459 These are the commands of the Lord of the worlds, 00:08:24.459 --> 00:08:29.459 So do not disobey them, lest a painful punishment befall you. 00:08:31.550 --> 00:08:34.549 Yet, despite the power of this sign and their witnessing of it, 00:08:34.549 --> 00:08:38.549 None believed in the Prophet of Allah, Salih, peace be upon him, 00:08:38.549 --> 00:08:42.549 Except a few of his people from among the oppressed. 00:08:42.549 --> 00:08:46.549 And the majority remained in their disbelief and stubbornness. 00:08:46.549 --> 00:08:50.779 The people of Thamud spent days watching the she-camel of Allah, 00:08:50.779 --> 00:08:52.779 As she walked among them, 00:08:52.779 --> 00:08:54.779 And drank from their water, 00:08:54.779 --> 00:08:58.870 While they did not approach her with harm. 00:08:58.870 --> 00:09:00.870 Then Satan incited them, 00:09:00.870 --> 00:09:03.870 And they began to hatch plots, 00:09:03.870 --> 00:09:08.870 Conspiring among themselves to kill the she-camel out of injustice and disbelief. 00:09:08.870 --> 00:09:12.120 It is mentioned in the reports, 00:09:12.120 --> 00:09:16.120 That a prostitute came to a man among them, 00:09:16.120 --> 00:09:19.120 Called Misra' ibn Muharrij, 00:09:19.120 --> 00:09:21.120 And offered herself to him. 00:09:21.120 --> 00:09:23.120 She was a beautiful woman, 00:09:23.120 --> 00:09:25.120 And she said to him, 00:09:25.120 --> 00:09:30.120 "I will marry you, and my dowry shall be that you kill the she-camel of Salih." 00:09:30.120 --> 00:09:36.279 And another old woman came to a man called Qudar ibn Salif, 00:09:36.279 --> 00:09:38.279 And said to him, 00:09:38.279 --> 00:09:40.279 "I have four daughters, 00:09:40.279 --> 00:09:42.279 I will marry you to whichever of them you wish, 00:09:42.279 --> 00:09:45.279 If you kill the she-camel of Salih." 00:09:45.279 --> 00:09:49.269 These two men met, 00:09:49.269 --> 00:09:51.269 Ibn Muharrij and Qudar, 00:09:51.269 --> 00:09:55.269 And called their companions to kill the she-camel. 00:09:55.269 --> 00:09:58.269 Seven others responded to them, 00:09:58.269 --> 00:10:01.269 So they became a group of nine men in the city, 00:10:01.269 --> 00:10:04.269 Causing corruption therein and not reforming. 00:10:04.269 --> 00:10:07.269 These were the heads of the sedition, 00:10:07.269 --> 00:10:11.370 Even though everyone had consented to the killing of the she-camel. 00:10:11.370 --> 00:10:15.370 It is narrated that the one who hamstrung the she-camel said to his people, 00:10:15.370 --> 00:10:19.370 "I will not kill her until you all agree to it." 00:10:19.370 --> 00:10:22.370 So they began going around and asking the people, 00:10:22.370 --> 00:10:25.370 Even entering upon women in their private quarters, 00:10:25.370 --> 00:10:29.370 Saying, "Do you agree that the she-camel be killed?" 00:10:29.370 --> 00:10:31.370 And they would say, "Yes." 00:10:31.370 --> 00:10:33.370 They even asked the children, 00:10:33.370 --> 00:10:36.370 "Do you agree that the she-camel be hamstrung?" 00:10:36.370 --> 00:10:38.370 And they would say, "Yes." 00:10:38.370 --> 00:10:42.070 At that point, Qudar ibn Salif grew bold, 00:10:42.070 --> 00:10:45.070 Along with his companion Ibn Muharrij and those with them, 00:10:45.070 --> 00:10:49.070 And they lay in wait for the she-camel at her watering place. 00:10:49.070 --> 00:10:52.070 Ibn Muharrij shot her with an arrow, 00:10:52.070 --> 00:10:55.070 And the arrow struck her leg. 00:10:55.070 --> 00:10:59.100 Then the women went out, roaming the parts of the tribe, 00:10:59.100 --> 00:11:01.100 Having unveiled their faces, 00:11:01.100 --> 00:11:03.100 And uncovered their hair, 00:11:03.100 --> 00:11:06.100 And they began shouting to the men, 00:11:06.100 --> 00:11:09.100 "Kill the she-camel! Kill the she-camel!" 00:11:09.100 --> 00:11:12.139 Then Qudar ibn Salif rose against her, 00:11:12.139 --> 00:11:14.139 And struck her with his sword, 00:11:14.139 --> 00:11:17.139 Piercing her throat, 00:11:17.139 --> 00:11:19.139 And she fell dead. 00:11:19.139 --> 00:11:21.299 And Qudar ibn Salif was, 00:11:21.299 --> 00:11:23.299 The most wretched of Thamud, 00:11:23.299 --> 00:11:27.299 Who bore the greatest burden of sin for killing the she-camel. 00:11:27.299 --> 00:11:32.259 Then the people of Thamud said to their prophet, defiantly, 00:11:32.259 --> 00:11:37.259 "O Salih, bring us what you promise us of punishment, 00:11:37.259 --> 00:11:41.259 If you are truly one of the truthful messengers." 00:11:41.259 --> 00:11:44.259 Salih, peace be upon him, said to them, 00:11:44.259 --> 00:11:50.259 "O my people, why do you hasten the evil of the punishment before the good? 00:11:50.259 --> 00:11:52.259 Have you asked Allah for forgiveness? 00:11:52.259 --> 00:11:54.259 Perhaps He might have mercy on you." 00:11:54.259 --> 00:11:58.509 But this approach was of no use to them. 00:11:58.509 --> 00:12:01.509 So Allah withheld the rain from them from the sky, 00:12:01.509 --> 00:12:04.509 As a warning and a caution to them. 00:12:04.509 --> 00:12:07.509 They said, "We have not been denied rain, 00:12:07.509 --> 00:12:10.509 Except because of Salih and those with him. 00:12:10.509 --> 00:12:13.509 For he has angered our gods, 00:12:13.509 --> 00:12:16.509 And they are a source of bad omen for us, 00:12:16.509 --> 00:12:18.509 And we have taken them as an evil omen." 00:12:18.509 --> 00:12:21.830 At that point, those men swore, 00:12:21.830 --> 00:12:26.830 The leaders of disbelief, that they would kill Salih, peace be upon him, 00:12:26.830 --> 00:12:29.830 After they had killed the she-camel. 00:12:29.830 --> 00:12:34.860 Their plan was to ambush him at night and kill him, 00:12:34.860 --> 00:12:40.860 Then, when the people woke, they would say to the family and kin of Salih, 00:12:40.860 --> 00:12:43.860 "We did not know of his killing until now, 00:12:43.860 --> 00:12:46.860 And we are indeed truthful. 00:12:46.860 --> 00:12:49.309 Allah the Almighty said: 00:12:50.309 --> 00:12:55.309 “And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling.” (27:45) 00:12:55.309 --> 00:12:58.309 That they should worship Allah. 00:12:58.309 --> 00:13:02.309 “And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling.” (27:45) 00:13:02.309 --> 00:13:06.309 “He said: O my people! Why will ye hasten on the evil rather than the good? Why will ye not ask pardon of Allah, that ye may receive mercy.” (27:46) 00:13:06.309 --> 00:13:09.309 With evil before good. 00:13:09.309 --> 00:13:12.309 Why do you not seek the forgiveness of Allah? 00:13:12.309 --> 00:13:15.309 That you may receive mercy. 00:13:15.309 --> 00:13:20.309 “They said: We augur evil of thee and those with thee. He said: Your evil augury is with Allah. Nay, but ye are folk that are being tested.” (27:47) 00:13:20.309 --> 00:13:25.309 “They said: We augur evil of thee and those with thee. Nay, but ye are folk that are being tested.” (27:47) 00:13:30.309 --> 00:13:38.309 “And there were in the city nine persons who made mischief in the land and reformed not.” (27:48) 00:13:38.309 --> 00:13:44.309 “They said: Swear one to another by Allah that we verily will attack him and his household by night, and afterward we will surely say unto his friend: We witnessed not the destruction of his household. And lo! we are truthtellers.” (27:49) 00:13:44.309 --> 00:13:50.309 Then we shall say to their guardian: 00:13:50.309 --> 00:13:53.309 “They said: Swear one to another by Allah that we verily will attack him and his household by night, and afterward we will surely say unto his friend: We witnessed not the destruction of his household. And lo! we are truthtellers.” (27:49) 00:13:53.309 --> 00:13:56.309 And we are indeed truthful. 00:13:56.309 --> 00:14:01.980 So Allah the Almighty revealed to Salih, peace be upon him: 00:14:01.980 --> 00:14:07.580 To promise them that the torment would arrive after three days. 00:14:07.580 --> 00:14:13.580 And Allah commanded him to depart from among them, along with those who followed him from among the believers. 00:14:13.580 --> 00:14:17.580 So Salih, peace be upon him, informed them of what Allah had commanded him. 00:14:17.580 --> 00:14:20.580 And he departed with those who believed with him. 00:14:20.580 --> 00:14:24.809 Thus, Allah saved them from the painful torment. 00:14:24.809 --> 00:14:26.809 As for the people of Thamud: 00:14:26.809 --> 00:14:30.809 They awoke on the first day with their faces turned yellow. 00:14:30.809 --> 00:14:34.809 Each one of them saw the yellowness on his brother's face. 00:14:34.809 --> 00:14:37.899 Then doubt began to circulate within their souls. 00:14:37.899 --> 00:14:43.509 Is this the beginning of the torment with which Salih threatened us? 00:14:43.509 --> 00:14:49.539 On the second day, they awoke with their faces turned red like blood. 00:14:49.539 --> 00:14:52.539 At that point, they became certain of the torment. 00:14:52.539 --> 00:14:58.279 On the third day, they awoke with their faces turned black. 00:14:58.279 --> 00:15:03.340 So they began digging their own graves with their hands, awaiting destruction. 00:15:03.340 --> 00:15:08.440 On that day, the earthquake seized them from beneath their feet. 00:15:08.440 --> 00:15:11.440 And the blast overtook them from above them. 00:15:11.440 --> 00:15:14.440 Until it destroyed them all. 00:15:14.440 --> 00:15:17.440 And the humiliating torment seized them. 00:15:17.440 --> 00:15:20.440 So they became like the dry stubble of a pen-builder. 00:15:20.440 --> 00:15:26.440 Meaning like withered plants that have become fragmented and scattered in a sheepfold. 00:15:26.440 --> 00:15:29.440 Trampled by their feet. 00:15:29.440 --> 00:15:35.179 Salih, peace be upon him, passed by his people while they were dead. 00:15:35.179 --> 00:15:38.179 And he began to address them, saying: 00:15:38.179 --> 00:15:42.179 “And (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers.” (7:79) 00:15:42.179 --> 00:15:47.179 But you are a people who do not love those who give sincere advice. 00:15:47.179 --> 00:15:49.720 Allah the Almighty said: 00:15:49.720 --> 00:15:55.779 “O my people! This is the camel of Allah, a token unto you, so suffer her to feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with harm lest a near torment seize you.” (11:64) 00:15:55.779 --> 00:15:58.779 So leave her to eat on Allah’s earth. 00:15:58.779 --> 00:16:04.779 And do not touch her with harm. 00:16:04.779 --> 00:16:10.779 Lest a near torment seize you. 00:16:10.779 --> 00:16:12.779 But they hamstrung her, so he said: 00:16:12.779 --> 00:16:18.779 “But they hamstrung her, and then he said: Enjoy life in your dwelling-place three days! This is a threat that will not be belied.” (11:65) 00:16:18.779 --> 00:16:22.779 “But they hamstrung her, and then he said: Enjoy life in your dwelling-place three days! Lo, thy Lord! He is the Strong, the Mighty.” (11:66) 00:16:51.230 --> 00:16:54.230 “And the (awful) Cry overtook those who did wrong, so that morning found them prostrate in their dwellings,” (11:67) 00:16:54.230 --> 00:16:59.230 And they lay prone in their homes. 00:16:59.230 --> 00:17:02.230 As if they had never prospered therein. 00:17:02.230 --> 00:17:07.230 Verily, Thamud disbelieved in their Lord. 00:17:07.230 --> 00:17:12.539 Verily, away with Thamud. 00:17:12.539 --> 00:17:14.539 Honorable brothers: 00:17:14.539 --> 00:17:17.539 Allah the Almighty has mentioned Salih: 00:17:17.539 --> 00:17:19.539 Peace be upon him, in the Noble Qur'an: 00:17:19.539 --> 00:17:21.539 Nine times. 00:17:21.539 --> 00:17:23.539 And He mentioned his tribe, Thamud: 00:17:23.539 --> 00:17:25.539 Twenty times. 00:17:25.539 --> 00:17:28.539 And we have in the story of Salih, peace be upon him: 00:17:28.539 --> 00:17:31.539 With his people, many lessons and examples. 00:17:31.539 --> 00:17:34.279 Among the most important of them: 00:17:34.279 --> 00:17:37.279 First, the final outcome is always: 00:17:37.279 --> 00:17:41.279 For the prophets of Allah the Almighty, peace be upon them. 00:17:41.279 --> 00:17:44.279 For after tyranny reaches its peak: 00:17:44.279 --> 00:17:48.279 Salvation comes for the believing servants of Allah. 00:17:48.279 --> 00:17:51.279 And destruction for His disbelieving enemies. 00:17:51.279 --> 00:17:55.279 For Allah the Almighty grants respite, but He does not neglect. 00:17:55.279 --> 00:17:57.140 Second: 00:17:57.140 --> 00:18:00.180 Signs, no matter how clear they are: 00:18:00.180 --> 00:18:04.180 The criminals will not believe in them nor be guided by them. 00:18:04.180 --> 00:18:07.180 Just as was the case with the people of Thamud. 00:18:07.180 --> 00:18:11.180 They saw the she-camel standing right before them as they had requested. 00:18:11.180 --> 00:18:14.180 Yet, they did not believe. 00:18:14.180 --> 00:18:16.980 Third: 00:18:16.980 --> 00:18:21.039 Abandoning the truth due to the fewness of its followers and supporters: 00:18:21.039 --> 00:18:24.039 Or following falsehood due to the multitude of its followers: 00:18:24.039 --> 00:18:27.039 Is a disease that has existed among people since ancient times. 00:18:27.039 --> 00:18:30.039 For the people of Thamud said: 00:18:30.039 --> 00:18:33.039 “For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.” (54:24) 00:18:33.039 --> 00:18:36.039 “For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.” (54:24) 00:18:36.039 --> 00:18:38.869 Fourth: 00:18:38.869 --> 00:18:43.029 One who is pleased with an act is like the one who performs it in the rulings of the Hereafter: 00:18:43.029 --> 00:18:45.029 In the sight of Allah the Almighty. 00:18:45.029 --> 00:18:47.029 For Allah mentioned in His Book: 00:18:47.029 --> 00:18:51.029 That the one who hamstrung the she-camel was one man among them. 00:18:51.029 --> 00:18:54.029 While the rest were pleased with that. 00:18:54.029 --> 00:18:59.029 Therefore, He attributed the act in some verses to all of them. 00:18:59.029 --> 00:19:00.029 So He said: 00:19:00.029 --> 00:19:02.029 "So they hamstrung her." 00:19:02.029 --> 00:19:05.029 Thus, Allah covered them all with torment. 00:19:05.029 --> 00:19:09.029 And none of them were saved except those who were not pleased with that. 00:19:09.029 --> 00:19:11.029 And they are the believers. 00:19:11.029 --> 00:19:14.029 As for what relates to the rulings of this world: 00:19:14.029 --> 00:19:18.029 They only apply to those who manifest the action and the speech. 00:19:18.029 --> 00:19:20.640 Fifth: 00:19:20.640 --> 00:19:23.740 A Muslim should take a lesson and an example: 00:19:23.740 --> 00:19:26.740 If he passes by the dwellings of those who were punished. 00:19:26.740 --> 00:19:29.740 Like the people of Thamud in the region of Al-Hijr. 00:19:29.740 --> 00:19:32.740 For it is narrated from Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both: 00:19:32.740 --> 00:19:35.740 That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: 00:19:35.740 --> 00:19:37.740 Passed by the settlements of Thamud. 00:19:37.740 --> 00:19:40.740 The people drew water from the wells. 00:19:40.740 --> 00:19:42.740 And they kneaded their dough. 00:19:42.740 --> 00:19:46.740 So the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded them: 00:19:46.740 --> 00:19:48.740 And they poured out the pots. 00:19:48.740 --> 00:19:50.740 And they fed the dough to the camels. 00:19:50.740 --> 00:19:53.740 And he, peace be upon him, forbade them: 00:19:53.740 --> 00:19:56.740 From entering upon the people who were punished. 00:19:56.740 --> 00:19:57.740 And he said: 00:19:57.740 --> 00:20:02.740 "I fear that what befell them might befall you." 00:20:02.740 --> 00:20:04.740 "Do not enter upon them." 00:20:04.740 --> 00:20:08.769 Then he covered himself with his garment while he was on his mount. 00:20:08.769 --> 00:20:10.769 And he said: 00:20:10.769 --> 00:20:13.769 "Do not enter upon these people who were punished." 00:20:13.769 --> 00:20:16.769 "Unless you are weeping." 00:20:16.769 --> 00:20:21.990 "For if you are not weeping, then do not enter upon them." 00:20:21.990 --> 00:20:27.990 And we now see some ignorant people going to those places and taking pictures there. 00:20:27.990 --> 00:20:29.990 And rejoicing and laughing. 00:20:29.990 --> 00:20:37.430 This is contrary to what the Prophet, peace be upon him, guided us to. 00:20:37.430 --> 00:20:40.430 The hadith has a remainder, if Allah wills. 00:20:40.430 --> 00:20:43.430 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 00:20:43.430 --> 00:20:47.430 And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad. 00:20:47.430 --> 00:20:50.430 And upon all his family and companions. 00:20:50.430 --> 00:20:56.349 You have been with the stories of the prophets.
