They enjoin the wrong, and they forbid the right, and they withhold their hands (from spending for the cause of Allah). They forget Allah, so He hath forgotten them. Lo! the hypocrites, they are the transgressors.” (9:67) 00:07:32.600 --> 00:07:36.209 The hypocrite men and hypocrite women. 00:07:36.209 --> 00:07:39.209 Who show the believers. 00:07:39.209 --> 00:07:42.209 Faith with their tongues. 00:07:42.209 --> 00:07:45.209 And conceal disbelief, they are one class. 00:07:45.209 --> 00:07:48.209 And their affair is one. 00:07:48.209 --> 00:07:51.209 They enjoin disbelief in Allah and in Muhammad, peace be upon him. 00:07:51.209 --> 00:07:54.209 And in what he brought, and they deny it. 00:07:54.209 --> 00:07:57.209 And they forbid them from believing in Allah and His Messenger. 00:07:57.209 --> 00:08:00.209 And in what has come to them from Allah. 00:08:01.209 --> 00:08:04.209 And they withhold their hands from spending in the cause of Allah. 00:08:04.209 --> 00:08:07.209 They abandoned Allah by not obeying Him. 00:08:07.209 --> 00:08:10.209 And not following His command. 00:08:10.209 --> 00:08:13.209 So Allah abandoned them from His guidance. 00:08:13.209 --> 00:08:16.209 And His mercy and success. 00:08:16.209 --> 00:08:19.209 Indeed, those who deceive the believers. 00:08:19.209 --> 00:08:22.209 By showing faith in Allah. 00:08:22.209 --> 00:08:25.209 While they harbor disbelief within. 00:08:25.209 --> 00:08:29.009 They are those who have departed from faith in Him and His Messenger. 00:08:31.009 --> 00:08:34.009 And the hypocrite women and the disbelievers. 00:08:34.009 --> 00:08:37.009 The fire of Hell, abiding therein. 00:08:37.009 --> 00:08:40.009 It is sufficient for them. 00:08:40.009 --> 00:08:43.009 And Allah has cursed them. 00:08:43.009 --> 00:08:46.009 And for them is an enduring punishment. 00:08:49.009 --> 00:08:52.870 “Allah promiseth the hypocrites, both men and women, and the disbelievers fire of hell for their abode. It will suffice them. They enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye enjoy your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile. And ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers.” (9:69) 00:09:47.669 --> 00:09:50.669 Their portion. 00:09:50.669 --> 00:09:53.669 And you engaged in idle talk like that which. 00:09:53.669 --> 00:09:56.669 They engaged in. 00:09:56.669 --> 00:09:59.669 Those are the ones whose deeds have become worthless. 00:09:59.669 --> 00:10:02.669 In this world and the Hereafter. 00:10:02.669 --> 00:10:05.669 And it is they who are. 00:10:05.669 --> 00:10:09.340 The losers. 00:10:09.340 --> 00:10:12.340 Like those before you among the nations. 00:10:12.340 --> 00:10:15.340 Who did as you did, so Allah destroyed them. 00:10:15.340 --> 00:10:18.340 For they were stronger than you. 00:10:18.340 --> 00:10:21.340 In power and might, and more than you. 00:10:21.340 --> 00:10:24.340 In wealth and children. 00:10:24.340 --> 00:10:27.340 And they were content with that. 00:10:27.340 --> 00:10:30.340 From their share in this world. 00:10:30.340 --> 00:10:33.340 As a substitute for their share in the Hereafter. 00:10:33.340 --> 00:10:36.340 And you have followed, O hypocrites. 00:10:36.340 --> 00:10:39.340 Their path in enjoying. 00:10:39.340 --> 00:10:42.340 Your religion and your worldly life. 00:10:42.340 --> 00:10:45.340 Just as the nations who were before you enjoyed. 00:10:45.340 --> 00:10:48.340 Their share of their worldly life and their religion. 00:10:48.340 --> 00:10:51.340 And you engaged in lies and falsehood. 00:10:52.340 --> 00:10:55.340 Those are the ones whose deeds have gone to waste. 00:10:55.340 --> 00:10:58.340 And it is they who are the losers. 00:10:58.340 --> 00:11:01.340 Their transaction was selling the bliss. 00:11:01.340 --> 00:11:04.340 Of the Hereafter for their share of the world. 00:11:04.340 --> 00:11:08.269 The meager and insignificant. 00:11:08.269 --> 00:11:11.269 Has there not reached them the news of those before them? 00:11:11.269 --> 00:11:14.269 The people of Nuh and 'Ad. 00:11:14.269 --> 00:11:17.269 And Thamud. 00:11:17.269 --> 00:11:20.269 And the people of Ibrahim. 00:11:20.269 --> 00:11:23.269 And the people of Madyan. 00:11:23.269 --> 00:11:26.269 And the overturned cities. 00:11:26.269 --> 00:11:29.269 Their messengers came to them. 00:11:29.269 --> 00:11:32.269 With clear proofs. 00:11:32.269 --> 00:11:35.269 So it was not Allah who would wrong them. 00:11:35.269 --> 00:11:38.269 But they were themselves. 00:11:38.269 --> 00:11:41.269 Wronging. 00:11:41.269 --> 00:11:45.100 Has the news of those who came before them not reached these hypocrites? 00:11:45.100 --> 00:11:48.100 The accounts of the nations that preceded them? 00:11:48.100 --> 00:11:51.100 Did I not drown them in the flood? 00:11:51.100 --> 00:11:54.100 And the account of ‘Ad? 00:11:54.100 --> 00:11:57.100 Did I not destroy them with a fierce, raging wind? 00:11:57.100 --> 00:12:00.139 And the account of Thamud? 00:12:00.139 --> 00:12:03.139 Did I not destroy them with the earthquake? 00:12:03.139 --> 00:12:06.139 And the account of the people of Ibrahim? 00:12:06.139 --> 00:12:09.139 Did I not strip them of their blessings? 00:12:09.139 --> 00:12:12.139 And destroy their king, Nimrod? 00:12:12.139 --> 00:12:15.139 And the account of the people of Madyan? 00:12:15.139 --> 00:12:18.139 And the account of those whose land was overturned upon them? 00:12:18.139 --> 00:12:21.169 So that its top became its bottom? 00:12:21.169 --> 00:12:24.169 Allah did not destroy these nations 00:12:24.169 --> 00:12:27.169 except for their criminality and their injustice toward their own souls. 00:12:27.169 --> 00:12:30.169 It was not an injustice from Allah, 00:12:30.169 --> 00:12:33.169 nor did He impose upon them a punishment 00:12:33.169 --> 00:12:36.169 for someone who did not deserve it. 00:12:36.169 --> 00:12:39.169 Rather, the people wronged themselves 00:12:39.169 --> 00:12:42.169 through disobedience to Allah and by denying His messengers, 00:12:42.169 --> 00:12:46.059 so the word of punishment was fulfilled, and they were punished. 00:12:46.059 --> 00:12:49.059 As for the believing men and believing women, 00:12:49.059 --> 00:12:52.059 they are allies of one another. 00:12:52.059 --> 00:12:55.059 They enjoin what is right, 00:12:55.059 --> 00:12:58.059 and they forbid what is wrong. 00:12:58.059 --> 00:13:01.059 They establish prayer, 00:13:01.059 --> 00:13:04.059 they give zakat, 00:13:04.059 --> 00:13:07.059 and they obey Allah and His Messenger. 00:13:07.059 --> 00:13:10.059 These are the ones 00:13:10.059 --> 00:13:13.059 upon whom Allah will have mercy. 00:13:13.059 --> 00:13:16.059 Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might, 00:13:16.059 --> 00:13:19.059 All-Wise. 00:13:19.059 --> 00:13:23.090 Those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, 00:13:23.090 --> 00:13:26.090 and in the verses of His Book, 00:13:26.090 --> 00:13:29.090 are supporters of one another. 00:13:29.090 --> 00:13:32.090 They call people to faith in Allah 00:13:32.090 --> 00:13:35.090 and His Messenger, and they forbid what is wrong. 00:13:35.090 --> 00:13:38.090 They perform the obligatory prayer, 00:13:38.090 --> 00:13:41.090 and they give the obligatory zakat to those entitled to it. 00:13:41.090 --> 00:13:44.090 They comply with the command of Allah and His Messenger, 00:13:44.090 --> 00:13:47.090 and they refrain from what He has forbidden them. 00:13:47.090 --> 00:13:50.120 These are the ones upon whom Allah will have mercy, 00:13:50.120 --> 00:13:53.149 saving them from His punishment. 00:13:53.149 --> 00:13:56.149 Indeed, Allah is Mighty in His retribution 00:13:56.149 --> 00:13:59.149 against those of His creation who persist in disobedience 00:13:59.149 --> 00:14:02.149 and disbelief in Him; He is All-Wise 00:14:02.149 --> 00:14:06.299 in His retribution against them and in all His actions. 00:14:06.299 --> 00:14:09.299 “Allah promiseth to the believers, men and women, Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide - blessed dwellings in Gardens of Eden. If they repent it will be better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful doom in the world and the Hereafter, and they have no protecting friend nor helper in the earth.” (9:74) 00:17:13.099 --> 00:17:16.200 The exegetes differed 00:17:16.200 --> 00:17:19.200 as to who it was that plotted this, 00:17:19.200 --> 00:17:22.200 and what the thing was that they plotted. 00:17:22.200 --> 00:17:25.200 It is said it was a man among the hypocrites 00:17:25.200 --> 00:17:28.200 who plotted to kill his stepson, who 00:17:28.200 --> 00:17:31.200 had heard a word of disbelief from him 00:17:31.200 --> 00:17:34.299 and feared he would expose him. 00:17:34.299 --> 00:17:37.299 It is said it was a man from Quraysh 00:17:37.299 --> 00:17:40.299 who plotted to kill the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. 00:17:40.299 --> 00:17:43.299 And it is said it was ‘Abdullah Ibn Ubayy 00:17:43.299 --> 00:17:46.299 who plotted by his speech. 00:17:46.299 --> 00:17:49.359 “They say: Surely, if we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not.” (63:8) 00:17:49.359 --> 00:17:52.359 It was mentioned to us that the hypocrite who spoke 00:17:52.359 --> 00:17:55.359 the word of disbelief was poor, 00:17:55.359 --> 00:17:58.359 and Allah enriched him. 00:17:58.359 --> 00:18:01.359 They found no fault with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 00:18:01.359 --> 00:18:04.359 for anything, except that Allah and His Messenger 00:18:04.359 --> 00:18:07.390 had enriched them out of His bounty after their poverty. 00:18:07.390 --> 00:18:10.390 If those who uttered 00:18:10.390 --> 00:18:13.390 the word of disbelief repent, their return 00:18:13.390 --> 00:18:16.420 and repentance will be better for them than hypocrisy. 00:18:16.420 --> 00:18:19.420 And if they do not repent, He will punish them with a painful punishment in this world, 00:18:19.420 --> 00:18:22.420 either by execution 00:18:22.420 --> 00:18:25.420 or by an immediate disgrace for them therein, 00:18:25.420 --> 00:18:28.490 and He will punish them in the Hereafter with the Fire. 00:18:28.490 --> 00:18:31.490 And these hypocrites will have no 00:18:31.490 --> 00:18:34.490 protector to shield them from the punishment of Allah, 00:18:34.490 --> 00:18:37.490 nor any helper to assist them against Allah 00:18:37.490 --> 00:18:41.799 and save them from His punishment.
