Summary of the Concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah: The Divine Name *Al-Ḥakīm* (The All-Wise) and Its Implications Linguistically, *Al-Ḥakīm* conveys two main meanings: First: *Al-Ḥakīm* in the sense of *Al-Ḥākim* (The Sovereign Ruler and Judge). In this sense, it is an intensive form (*faʿīl*) derived from the active participle *ḥākim*. When applied to Allah Almighty, it encompasses both types of His judgment and decree: His existential decree (*al-qadar*) and His legislative decree, whether prescriptive or retributive. The discussion on *Al-Ḥukm* (Divine Judgment) was previously covered in concepts numbers 50 to 52. Second: *Al-Ḥakīm* is the One who perfects all things and executes them with utmost precision, leaving no flaw, defect, or corruption in them. Thus, *Al-Ḥakīm* means the Possessor of wisdom (*ḥikmah*). Wisdom is putting things in their proper places and according them their rightful status, or it is knowing the most noble of things through the most sublime knowledge. According to this second meaning of *Al-Ḥakīm*, Allah, the All-Wise, possesses supreme wisdom in His creation and His command. He neither says nor does anything except what is right and correct, and His cosmic management is entirely free from flaw or error. The manifestation of His wisdom, glorified be He, is evident in all of His creation, even in the weakest of creatures, such as ants and other insects. The perfection of their creation points directly to the existence of Allah, the All-Wise Creator, just as it is demonstrated by the creation of the vast heavens, the earth, the mountains upon it, and the plains, rivers, and seas within it. Allah's wisdom entails that He, Mighty and Majestic, does nothing in vain or without a beneficial purpose. Therefore, all of His actions and commands stem from profound, far-reaching wisdom. A necessary corollary of this is the affirmation of praiseworthy ends in Allah's creation and command, as well as placing all things in their proper positions and bringing them about in the finest possible manner. Denying this constitutes a denial of the Name *Al-Ḥakīm* and its inherent implications. In summary, the wisdom of Allah Almighty is manifested in two fundamental areas: Wisdom in His creation and His governance of their affairs, and wisdom in His legislation and His command, Mighty and Majestic is He.
