In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, delivered a sermon and said:
By Allah, we accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, both in times of travel and at home.
He would visit our sick, follow our funeral processions, and go on military expeditions with us.
He would support us with both little and much.
Yet there are people who try to teach me about him, even though it is likely that some of them have never even seen him.
The ship of departure.
I will take you directly into the depths of the story and the heart of the narrative.
I will not begin with you from the mountains of Makkah or the trade routes of al-Sham.
I will not be in the lands of Banu Sa'd or al-Abwa'.
I will not delve with you into the sequence of events, the hostility of Abu Lahab, or the companionship of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him.
No, rather, I will migrate with you far, far away.
Across the crashing waves, the sorrows of exile, and the turning points of history.
From Abyssinia, I announce the beginning of my journey with you.
