A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah. The polluted environment. This refers to an environment in which the fundamental elements of life have become contaminated. Consequently, corruption and pollution have affected food, drink, and the air. This has led to the spread of epidemics and other such afflictions. This pollution occurs due to two factors. First: The sins of people and what they commit in terms of disbelief, immorality, and disobedience. Allah the Exalted says: “Corruption doth appear on land and sea because of (the evil) which men's hands have done, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return.” (30:41) “Corruption doth appear on land and sea because of (the evil) which men's hands have done, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return.” (30:41) Second: Human interference and manipulation of the environment driven by greed and avarice. They have leveled mountains and filled in valleys. They have established factories that pollute the air. They have interfered with people's food, drink, and agriculture using chemical substances. And polluting pesticides. They have decimated livestock. Under the pretext that their increase harms the economy. And so it goes. This second factor. Is the fruit of the first factor. The problem of pollution is one of the intractable environmental issues today. The entire world knows that its source is the industrialized world. Especially America and the West. Pollution causes serious health problems in the lives of people, animals, and crops.
