Forty Hadiths on the Virtues of Charity
On the authority of 'Abdullah Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Indeed, Allah has chosen certain people and singled them out with blessings for the benefit of His servants;
He maintains these blessings with them so long as they spend them generously.
But if they withhold them, He strips them away and transfers them to others."
Reported by al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi, and graded as hasan by al-Albani.
