Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
A Concise Summary of the Prophetic biography (Seerah).
The birth of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his contentment.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was born on a Monday.
In the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, in the Year of the Elephant.
Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih:
On the authority of Abu Qatadah al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was asked about fasting on Mondays.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, replied:
"It is the day I was born, and the day revelation descended upon me."
There is a difference of opinion regarding the specific Monday of Rabi' al-Awwal
on which the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was born.
The majority hold that it was the twelfth of Rabi' al-Awwal.
Ibn Ishaq confined himself to this date in his Prophetic biography (Seerah).
Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated with a hasan (sound) chain:
On the authority of Qays Ibn Makhramah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
"I and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, were born in the Year of the Elephant."
Al-Hakim narrated in al-Mustadrak with a hasan chain on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
The Prophet, peace be upon him, was born in the Year of the Elephant.
Aminah bint Wahb nursed her son, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, for a few days.
She had little milk.
Then, Thuwaybah, the freed slave of Abu Lahab, nursed him.
This was before Halimah al-Sa'diyyah arrived.
The two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) narrated in their Sahih collections:
On the authority of Umm Habibah bint Abi Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with her:
She said to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him:
"We have heard that you intend to marry the daughter of Abu Salamah."
He, peace be upon him, asked:
"The daughter of Umm Salamah?"
I said, "Yes."
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
"Even if she were not my stepdaughter under my guardianship, she would not be lawful for me."
"She is the daughter of my brother through nursing."
"Thuwaybah nursed both me and Abu Salamah."
"So do not offer me your daughters or your sisters."

The longing for you, O Messenger of Allah, has no limit.
