I and whosoever followeth me - Glory be to Allah! - and I am not of the idolaters.” (12:108) 00:00:30.500 --> 00:00:33.500 “Say: This is my Way: I call on Allah with sure knowledge. I and whosoever followeth me - Glory be to Allah! - and I am not of the idolaters.” (12:108) 00:00:33.500 --> 00:00:37.500 “Say: This is my Way: I call on Allah with sure knowledge. I and whosoever followeth me - Glory be to Allah! - and I am not of the idolaters.” (12:108) 00:00:37.500 --> 00:00:43.659 So, whoever desires the victory of this religion and strives for its establishment on Earth, 00:00:43.659 --> 00:00:47.659 must possess a correct insight into the religion. 00:00:47.659 --> 00:00:51.659 This is achieved by following the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:00:51.659 --> 00:00:54.659 and adhering to his guidance and methodology. 00:00:54.659 --> 00:00:56.659 And the most important of these is: 00:00:56.659 --> 00:01:01.659 beginning with the call to the Oneness of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, who has no partner, 00:01:01.659 --> 00:01:03.659 and rectifying the creed. 00:01:03.659 --> 00:01:07.659 This is what the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, began with, 00:01:07.659 --> 00:01:09.659 as did the prophets before him. 00:01:09.659 --> 00:01:11.659 Allah the Almighty says: 00:01:11.659 --> 00:01:15.659 "And We had certainly sent among every nation a messenger [saying], 'Worship Allah and avoid Taghut.'" 00:01:15.659 --> 00:01:18.659 "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." 00:01:18.659 --> 00:01:20.659 And He, Glorified, says: 00:01:20.659 --> 00:01:23.659 "And We did not send before you any messenger..." 00:01:23.659 --> 00:01:29.659 “And We sent no messenger before thee but We inspired him, (saying): There is no Allah save Me (Allah), so worship Me.” (21:25) 00:01:29.659 --> 00:01:31.760 Second, 00:01:31.760 --> 00:01:36.760 sincerity towards Allah the Almighty in undertaking the call and having good intention. 00:01:36.760 --> 00:01:40.760 This is derived from the previous verse in Surah Yusuf, 00:01:40.760 --> 00:01:42.760 specifically in His saying: 00:01:42.760 --> 00:01:44.760 "I call to Allah..." 00:01:44.760 --> 00:01:48.760 meaning, "I call to Allah alone, sincere to Him in religion," 00:01:48.760 --> 00:01:52.890 not to myself or any other purpose. 00:01:52.890 --> 00:01:53.890 Third, 00:01:53.890 --> 00:01:56.890 unity of word and solidarity of ranks. 00:01:56.890 --> 00:02:00.920 This principle is the fruit of sincerity and good intention. 00:02:00.920 --> 00:02:03.920 For one of the greatest causes of division 00:02:03.920 --> 00:02:07.920 is weakness of sincerity, following desires, and selfish interests. 00:02:07.920 --> 00:02:13.919 Especially if those who differ are on a correct understanding and a sound methodology. 00:02:13.919 --> 00:02:16.919 If they differ while on one methodology, 00:02:16.919 --> 00:02:20.919 then desire and weakness of sincerity must have been the cause. 00:02:20.919 --> 00:02:26.919 Allah, Glorified, has explained to us in His Book a Sunnah that does not change, 00:02:26.919 --> 00:02:29.919 which is that failure and delayed victory 00:02:29.919 --> 00:02:32.919 are the result of disagreement and division. 00:02:32.919 --> 00:02:33.919 Allah, Glorified, says: 00:02:33.919 --> 00:02:39.240 “And obey Allah and His messenger, and dispute not one with another lest ye falter and your strength depart from you; but be steadfast! Lo! Allah is with the steadfast.” (8:46) 00:02:39.240 --> 00:02:40.240 Fourth, 00:02:40.240 --> 00:02:43.240 there must be sifting and discernment. 00:02:43.240 --> 00:02:45.240 Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: 00:02:45.240 --> 00:02:50.240 “And that Allah may prove those who believe, and may blight the disbelievers.” (3:141) 00:02:50.240 --> 00:02:52.240 And He, Glorified, says: 00:02:52.240 --> 00:02:57.240 “It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. And it is not (the purpose of) Allah to let you know the Unseen. But Allah chooseth of His messengers whom He will, (to receive knowledge thereof). So believe in Allah and His messengers. clear communication of this religion, 00:03:23.270 --> 00:03:26.270 so that the proof is established against people, 00:03:26.270 --> 00:03:28.270 and whoever perishes, perishes after clear evidence, 00:03:28.270 --> 00:03:31.270 and whoever lives, lives after clear evidence. 00:03:31.270 --> 00:03:33.460 Fifth, 00:03:33.460 --> 00:03:37.460 taking the available and permissible material means. 00:03:38.620 --> 00:03:40.620 If the previous principles were from the roots 00:03:40.620 --> 00:03:44.620 of taking the legitimate means for victory and establishment, 00:03:44.620 --> 00:03:47.620 then the intention of this fifth principle 00:03:47.620 --> 00:03:50.620 is to take the means of material strength 00:03:50.620 --> 00:03:54.620 and to prepare for it according to one's ability and capacity. 00:03:54.620 --> 00:03:56.620 And in our reality today, 00:03:56.620 --> 00:03:59.620 it is incumbent upon those who strive for the victory of the religion 00:03:59.620 --> 00:04:01.620 to prepare materially, 00:04:01.620 --> 00:04:03.620 to prepare in terms of media, 00:04:03.620 --> 00:04:05.620 and to prepare militarily, 00:04:05.620 --> 00:04:08.620 and other means that are commanded, 00:04:08.620 --> 00:04:12.620 and which should not be neglected. 00:04:12.620 --> 00:04:13.750 Sixth, 00:04:13.750 --> 00:04:16.750 reliance on Allah, Mighty and Majestic, 00:04:16.750 --> 00:04:18.750 and seeking help from Him alone. 00:04:18.750 --> 00:04:22.750 This is an important principle among the principles of victory and establishment. 00:04:22.750 --> 00:04:27.750 And although it is included in the first and second principles, 00:04:27.750 --> 00:04:30.750 its separate mention here in an independent section 00:04:30.750 --> 00:04:32.750 has its importance, 00:04:32.750 --> 00:04:36.750 so that the supporters of Allah do not become attached to the means 00:04:36.750 --> 00:04:39.750 and their reliance on Allah, Mighty and Majestic, weakens. 00:04:39.750 --> 00:04:43.750 For Allah, Glorified, is the Victor and the Supporter. 00:04:43.750 --> 00:04:45.750 Allah the Almighty says: 00:04:53.750 --> 00:04:56.750 And the reality of reliance on Allah 00:04:56.750 --> 00:04:59.750 is the ultimate dependence on Allah, Glorified, 00:04:59.750 --> 00:05:03.750 along with ultimate trust and good expectation of Him, Glorified, 00:05:03.750 --> 00:05:06.750 and disavowal of all might and power [except His], 00:05:06.750 --> 00:05:08.750 and realizing His saying: 00:05:08.750 --> 00:05:13.750 "Victory comes only from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." 00:05:13.750 --> 00:05:18.819 It also necessitates abundant remembrance of Allah, glorifying Him, and seeking His forgiveness, 00:05:18.819 --> 00:05:20.819 and abundant prayer. 00:05:20.819 --> 00:05:22.819 Allah, Glorified, says: 00:05:22.819 --> 00:05:24.819 "So be patient over what they say." 00:05:24.819 --> 00:05:29.819 “Therefor (O Muhammad) bear with what they say, and hymn the praise of thy Lord before the rising and before the setting of the sun;” (50:39) 00:05:29.819 --> 00:05:33.819 “And in the night-time hymn His praise, and after the (prescribed) prostrations.” (50:40) 00:05:33.819 --> 00:05:36.819 and strengthening the recourse to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, 00:05:36.819 --> 00:05:39.819 and supplicating to Him and humbling oneself before Him 00:05:39.819 --> 00:05:43.819 in seeking victory and repelling the evil of enemies, 00:05:43.819 --> 00:05:45.819 and certainty in His victory, Glorified, 00:05:45.819 --> 00:05:48.819 and in His subjugation of the armies of the heavens and the earth 00:05:48.819 --> 00:05:50.819 to support His allies, 00:05:50.819 --> 00:05:53.819 if they fulfill the means of victory. 00:05:53.819 --> 00:05:58.819 This is what the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, did in his battles. 00:05:58.819 --> 00:06:00.819 In the Battle of Badr, 00:06:00.819 --> 00:06:04.819 he organized the army and took the possible means, 00:06:04.819 --> 00:06:06.819 then he turned to the shelter, 00:06:06.819 --> 00:06:09.819 supplicating and imploring his Lord for victory. 00:06:09.819 --> 00:06:13.819 Similarly, in the Battle of the Trench and other battles. 00:06:13.819 --> 00:06:18.819 This is the balanced and just methodology in seeking Allah's victory, 00:06:18.819 --> 00:06:21.819 situated between two blameworthy extremes. 00:06:21.819 --> 00:06:23.819 The first extreme: 00:06:23.819 --> 00:06:26.819 those who believe that Allah will support them 00:06:26.819 --> 00:06:29.819 simply because they are Muslims, 00:06:29.819 --> 00:06:33.819 even if they neglect all or some of the means of victory, 00:06:33.819 --> 00:06:37.819 and they say they are relying on Allah, 00:06:37.819 --> 00:06:41.819 without taking the legitimate and material means. 00:06:41.819 --> 00:06:43.850 The second extreme: 00:06:43.850 --> 00:06:47.850 those who exaggerate in material matters and cling to them, 00:06:47.850 --> 00:06:50.850 and believe that victory will not come 00:06:50.850 --> 00:06:55.850 unless the strength of the Muslims is like the strength of the disbelievers or greater, 00:06:55.850 --> 00:07:00.850 and their reliance on Allah is weak, and their trust in His support and His subjugation of the enemies 00:07:00.850 --> 00:07:04.850 through the weapon of terror and the weapon of angels, 00:07:04.850 --> 00:07:07.850 and other signs and miracles. 00:07:07.850 --> 00:07:09.850 And they forgot His saying: 00:07:09.850 --> 00:07:16.850 “And when Saul set out with the army, he said: Lo! Allah will try you by (the ordeal of) a river. Whosoever therefore drinketh thereof he is not of me, and whosoever tasteth it not he is of me, save him who taketh (thereof) in the hollow of his hand. But they drank thereof, all save a few of them. And after he had crossed (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: We have no power this day against Goliath and his hosts. But those who knew that they would meet Allah exclaimed: How many a little company hath overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave!
