00:00:28.059 He said, "What is your business, O messengers?" 00:00:28.059 --> 00:00:35.060 They said, "We have been sent to a people who are criminals." 00:00:35.060 --> 00:00:40.560 “That we may send upon them stones of clay,” (51:33) 00:00:40.560 --> 00:00:46.759 “Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton.” (51:34) 00:00:46.759 --> 00:00:49.259 Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said to his guests, 00:00:49.259 --> 00:00:52.259 "What is your mission, O messengers?" 00:00:52.259 --> 00:00:57.759 They replied, "We have been sent to a people who have committed crimes through their disbelief in Allah." 00:00:57.759 --> 00:01:01.759 "To rain down upon them stones of clay," 00:01:01.759 --> 00:01:05.260 "Marked by your Lord, O Ibrahim," 00:01:05.260 --> 00:01:08.280 "For those who transgress the limits of Allah." 00:01:08.280 --> 00:01:14.280 “Then we brought forth such believers as were there.” (51:35) 00:01:14.280 --> 00:01:21.280 “But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah).” (51:36) 00:01:21.280 --> 00:01:29.980 “And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom.” (51:37) 00:01:29.980 --> 00:01:32.980 So We brought out those who were in the city of the people of Lut (peace be upon him), 00:01:32.980 --> 00:01:34.980 From among those who believed in Allah. 00:01:34.980 --> 00:01:36.980 They were Lut and his two daughters. 00:01:36.980 --> 00:01:41.980 We found in that city only one house of Muslims, 00:01:41.980 --> 00:01:43.980 Which was the house of Lut. 00:01:43.980 --> 00:01:46.980 And We left in that city a lesson, 00:01:46.980 --> 00:01:51.980 And a sign for those who fear the painful punishment of Allah in the Hereafter. 00:01:51.980 --> 00:02:00.650 “And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant,” (51:38) 00:02:00.650 --> 00:02:05.650 “But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman.” (51:39) 00:02:05.650 --> 00:02:11.650 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea, 00:02:11.650 --> 00:02:13.650 While he was blameworthy. 00:02:13.650 --> 00:02:17.259 And in the story of Musa ibn Imran (peace be upon him), 00:02:17.259 --> 00:02:26.259 When We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear proof, which showed anyone who saw it that it was a sign from Musa confirming the truth of what he called to. 00:02:26.259 --> 00:02:30.259 But Pharaoh turned away with his forces, his soldiers, and his companions, 00:02:30.259 --> 00:02:32.259 And said of Musa, 00:02:32.259 --> 00:02:37.259 "He is a sorcerer who bewitches people's eyes, or a madman possessed by a jinn." 00:02:37.259 --> 00:02:42.259 So We seized Pharaoh and his hosts with Our wrath and indignation, 00:02:42.259 --> 00:02:46.259 And We cast them into the sea, drowning them therein. 00:02:46.259 --> 00:02:51.030 Pharaoh had indeed committed deeds for which he was to be blamed. 00:02:51.030 --> 00:02:57.030 “And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them.” (51:41) 00:02:57.030 --> 00:03:05.030 “It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust.” (51:42) 00:03:05.030 --> 00:03:11.539 And in the story of 'Ad, there is also a sign and a lesson in what We did to them, 00:03:11.539 --> 00:03:16.539 When We sent against them the barren wind, which does not fertilize trees. 00:03:16.539 --> 00:03:20.539 “It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust.” (51:42) 00:03:20.539 --> 00:03:25.439 Which withered the vegetation of the earth and trampled it. 00:03:25.439 --> 00:03:32.439 “And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile.” (51:43) 00:03:32.439 --> 00:03:40.439 “But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed;” (51:44) 00:03:40.439 --> 00:03:49.009 “And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves.” (51:45) 00:03:49.009 --> 00:03:56.009 And in the story of Thamud, there is also a lesson, when their Lord said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a while." 00:03:56.009 --> 00:04:00.009 But they grew arrogant and rebelled against the obedience of Allah. 00:04:00.009 --> 00:04:06.009 So the thunderbolt of punishment seized them suddenly while they were awaiting its arrival. 00:04:06.009 --> 00:04:12.009 This is because Thamud had been promised the punishment three days before it descended upon them. 00:04:12.009 --> 00:04:17.009 They were unable to defend themselves against the punishment of Allah when it fell upon them. 00:04:17.009 --> 00:04:24.009 Nor were they able to take vengeance against the One who inflicted upon them the retribution that befell them. 00:04:24.009 --> 00:04:34.620 “And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk.” (51:46) 00:04:34.620 --> 00:04:46.069 And in the story of the people of Nuh (peace be upon him), there is also a lesson, for We destroyed them before Thamud; they were indeed those who disobeyed the command of Allah and departed from His obedience. 00:04:46.069 --> 00:04:55.899 And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are expanding it. 00:04:55.899 --> 00:05:01.899 “And the earth have We laid out, how gracious is the Spreader (thereof)!” (51:48) 00:05:01.899 --> 00:05:08.899 “And all things We have created by pairs, that haply ye may reflect.” (51:49) 00:05:08.899 --> 00:05:18.569 We raised the heaven as a ceiling with power, and indeed, We are possessors of vastness in creating it and creating whatever We will to create. 00:05:18.569 --> 00:05:24.569 And the earth We spread out as a resting place for the creation; how excellent are We as the preparers thereof. 00:05:24.569 --> 00:05:32.569 And of all things We created two kinds, such as misery and happiness, guidance and misguidance. 00:05:32.569 --> 00:05:40.569 Allah created for everything He created a counterpart that differs in its meaning, so that you may remember and take heed. 00:05:40.569 --> 00:05:46.569 So know, O you who associate partners with Allah, that your Lord, who deserves your worship, 00:05:46.569 --> 00:05:50.569 Is the One who is capable of creating a thing and its opposite. 00:05:50.569 --> 00:06:01.720 “Therefor flee unto Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from him.” (51:50) 00:06:01.720 --> 00:06:13.490 "And do not make with Allah another deity; indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner." 00:06:13.490 --> 00:06:18.490 So flee, O people, from the punishment of Allah to His mercy by believing in Him. 00:06:18.490 --> 00:06:23.589 I am a warner to you from Allah, clarifying His warning to you. 00:06:23.589 --> 00:06:29.589 And do not make, O people, along with the One you worship who created you, another deity besides Him. 00:06:29.589 --> 00:06:36.589 I am to you, O people, a clear warner from His punishment, having made the warning manifest to you. 00:06:36.589 --> 00:06:48.000 “Even so there came no messenger unto those before them but they said: A wizard or a madman!” (51:52) 00:06:48.000 --> 00:06:54.000 “Have they handed down (the saying) as an heirloom one unto another? Nay, but they are froward folk.” (51:53) 00:06:54.000 --> 00:06:59.610 Just as the Quraysh denied their Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), 00:06:59.610 --> 00:07:03.610 So too did the nations who denied their messengers. 00:07:03.610 --> 00:07:11.610 No messenger came to those people we mentioned before them, but they said, "He is a sorcerer or a madman." 00:07:11.610 --> 00:07:16.610 Just as the Quraysh said to Muhammad (peace be upon him). 00:07:16.610 --> 00:07:24.610 Did these deniers bequeath to their predecessors and their past fathers the denial of Muhammad (peace be upon him)? 00:07:24.610 --> 00:07:27.610 So they accepted that from them? 00:07:27.610 --> 00:07:31.610 No, these polytheists did not bequeath that to their successors. 00:07:31.610 --> 00:07:36.610 Rather, they are a people who transgress and are tyrannical against the command of their Lord. 00:07:36.610 --> 00:07:42.220 So turn away from them, for you are not to be blamed. 00:07:42.220 --> 00:07:49.220 “And warn, for warning profiteth believers.” (51:55) 00:07:49.220 --> 00:07:53.829 So turn away, O Muhammad, from these polytheists. 00:07:53.829 --> 00:07:58.829 For you, O Muhammad, are not to be blamed for any shortcoming in your warning. 00:07:58.829 --> 00:08:02.829 You have indeed warned and conveyed what you were sent with. 00:08:02.829 --> 00:08:05.829 And remind, O Muhammad, those to whom you were sent. 00:08:05.829 --> 00:08:10.399 For the reminder benefits those who believe in Allah. 00:08:10.399 --> 00:08:16.399 “I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me.” (51:56) 00:08:16.399 --> 00:08:25.399 “I seek no livelihood from them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me.” (51:57) 00:08:25.399 --> 00:08:30.720 “Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might.” (51:58) 00:08:30.720 --> 00:08:37.110 I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Us and submit to Our command. 00:08:37.110 --> 00:08:43.110 I do not want from those I created among the jinn and mankind any provision that they should provide for My creation. 00:08:43.110 --> 00:08:48.110 Nor do I want them to feed them. 00:08:48.110 --> 00:08:55.840 Indeed, it is Allah who is the Provider, the Possessor of firm strength, the Sustainer of His creation. 00:08:55.840 --> 00:09:05.840 “And lo! for those who (now) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on (that day).” (51:59) 00:09:05.840 --> 00:09:14.769 So woe to those who disbelieved from their day which they are promised. 00:09:14.769 --> 00:09:20.769 For those who associated partners with Allah have a share and a portion of Allah's punishment descending upon them, 00:09:20.769 --> 00:09:27.769 Like the share of their companions who passed away before them from the nations, so let them not hasten it. 00:09:27.769 --> 00:09:31.769 The *wayd* is the flowing discharge in Hell, consisting of pus and blood, 00:09:31.769 --> 00:09:39.769 For those who disbelieved in Allah and denied His oneness, on the day they are promised the descent of Allah's punishment.
