What calamity befell the Muslims in Mecca
He was unable to prevent us from where we were
He told us
If you go out to the land of Abyssinia
It has a king who does not oppress anyone
It is a land of truth
Until God gives you relief from what you are in
Then we left as immigrants to the land of Abyssinia
Fearing temptation and fleeing from our religion
When that reached the Quraysh
They consulted among themselves
They decided to send for us from the Negus
Two of them were flogged
They approached the Negus
When they entered upon him, they prostrated before him
They gave him gifts
He admired her
One of them sat to his right
The other is to his left
And he said
A group of our people settled in your land
They turned away from our religion and despised our gods
So the Negus sent for us
So I told those with me
I am your fiancé
And they said yes
So I entered and greeted
And those in the council said
Why don't you bow down to the king?
I said
We only prostrate to God
They said why?
I said
God has sent among us a messenger
We are commanded not to prostrate to anyone but God
He commanded us to pray and pay zakat
And good business
Omar said
They disagree with you regarding the son of Maryam and his mother
Al-Najashi said
What do you say about the son of Maryam and his mother?
I said
We say as God said
He is the Spirit of God
And his word was delivered to the Virgin Mary
Which has not been touched by humans
I recited to him part of Surat Maryam
Al-Najashi picked up a stick from the ground
He said, his beard dripping with tears
O people of Abyssinia, priests and monks
Whatever you want
I swear this does not bother me
I bear witness that he is the Messenger of God
And it is what Jesus preached in the Gospel
By God, if it were not for me, I would not be in control
I would have come to him
So I will be the one they blame
Then he told us
Go down wherever you want, Amen
Let no one harm you
He ordered gifts from the Quraishis
I replied to them
They turned away disappointed
You were the reason for the Negus' conversion to Islam
We remained in Abyssinia until the seventh year of migration
Then we migrated to the city
So we came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace
The day of the conquest of Khaybar
He was glad we came
He kissed the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, between my eyes
He committed to me and said
I don't know which one I'm more happy about
With your arrival
Or in the conquest of Khaybar?
