WEBVTT

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.459
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

00:00:03.459 --> 00:00:06.040
Echoes from the Pulpit.

00:00:06.040 --> 00:00:06.839
Echoes from the Pulpit.

00:00:06.839 --> 00:00:14.289
The importance of arriving early for prayer.

00:00:14.289 --> 00:00:16.879
A sermon by the honorable Sheikh,

00:00:16.879 --> 00:00:19.280
Khalid ibn Abdullah al-Humudi,

00:00:19.280 --> 00:00:20.839
May Allah preserve him.

00:00:20.839 --> 00:00:25.190
Praise be to Allah, the All-Finding, the Glorious, the Accepter of Repentance,

00:00:25.190 --> 00:00:28.000
The Forbearing, the Generous, the Bestower.

00:00:28.000 --> 00:00:32.479
“The Forgiver of sin, the Accepter of repentance, the Stern in punishment, the Bountiful. There is no Allah save Him. Unto Him is the journeying.” (40:3)

00:00:32.479 --> 00:00:36.079
Praise be to Allah, always and forever.

00:00:36.689 --> 00:00:39.689
Praise be to Allah in times of ease and adversity.

00:00:39.689 --> 00:00:44.359
Whenever we praise Allah, we find from Him that which satisfies us.

00:00:44.359 --> 00:00:46.619
O Allah, to You be all praise.

00:00:46.619 --> 00:00:48.500
O Allah, to You be all praise.

00:00:48.500 --> 00:00:51.259
O Allah, to You be all praise until You are pleased.

00:00:51.259 --> 00:00:56.179
And to You be praise when You are pleased.

00:00:56.179 --> 00:00:58.420
And to You be praise after You are pleased.

00:00:58.420 --> 00:01:02.850
To You be praise; we cannot enumerate the ways to praise You.

00:01:02.850 --> 00:01:05.849
You are as You have praised Yourself.

00:01:06.370 --> 00:01:12.609
And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, alone, with no partner,

00:01:12.609 --> 00:01:18.209
The Forbearing, the Generous, the Forgiving, the Kind, the Merciful,

00:01:18.209 --> 00:01:21.010
The Bestower, the Gentle.

00:01:21.010 --> 00:01:24.599
If the doors of the world close upon you, be content,

00:01:24.599 --> 00:01:28.439
For the door of Allah never closes.

00:01:28.439 --> 00:01:31.760
So stand at His door and beseech Him in your distress,

00:01:31.760 --> 00:01:35.680
With the sincerity of one who is drowning.

00:01:35.780 --> 00:01:39.329
And rejoice, for His bounties will pour down upon you,

00:01:39.329 --> 00:01:42.920
For He whom you call upon is the Bestower, the Gentle.

00:01:42.920 --> 00:01:50.069
And I bear witness that our master, our Prophet, and our beloved, Muhammad, is the servant of Allah and His Messenger,

00:01:50.069 --> 00:01:53.000
His chosen one and His intimate friend.

00:01:53.000 --> 00:01:56.180
The most beautiful of people and the most excellent of them.

00:01:56.180 --> 00:01:59.659
The most generous of people and the most noble of them.

00:01:59.659 --> 00:02:02.870
The most pleasant of people in scent.

00:02:02.870 --> 00:02:06.890
Brave, patient, and generous,

00:02:06.890 --> 00:02:10.680
To the believers, he is compassionate and merciful.

00:02:10.680 --> 00:02:14.219
O you who hope for a great request,

00:02:14.219 --> 00:02:17.919
Win by sending prayers and peace upon the Prophet.

00:02:17.919 --> 00:02:22.800
How many a sinner, after prayer, has had his sins

00:02:22.800 --> 00:02:27.159
Erased, so he returns as if he had never sinned.

00:02:27.159 --> 00:02:30.800
And one burdened by worry, all his concerns

00:02:30.819 --> 00:02:35.020
Have vanished, followed by a clarity of spirit.

00:02:35.020 --> 00:02:38.699
O Muslim, send peace upon him,

00:02:38.699 --> 00:02:43.300
Do not neglect his Sunnah, and do not turn away.

00:02:43.300 --> 00:02:46.780
Send prayers and peace upon him, O you by whom

00:02:46.780 --> 00:02:50.860
You have attained the pride of the highest star.

00:02:50.860 --> 00:02:54.099
May Allah send prayers upon you, O you whose light

00:02:54.099 --> 00:02:58.300
Is a sun that never sets throughout the ages.

00:02:58.400 --> 00:03:01.479
O Allah, send prayers, peace, and increase blessings

00:03:01.479 --> 00:03:06.000
Upon Your servant, Messenger, Prophet, and beloved, Muhammad,

00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:09.280
And upon his good and pure household,

00:03:09.280 --> 00:03:12.159
And upon his noble and blessed Companions,

00:03:12.159 --> 00:03:16.199
And grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment.

00:03:16.199 --> 00:03:19.389
As for what follows, O servants of Allah,

00:03:19.389 --> 00:03:22.439
I advise you and myself to fear Allah,

00:03:22.439 --> 00:03:26.560
For it is the commandment of Allah to us and to those who came before us.

00:03:26.560 --> 00:03:30.099
“Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.” (4:131)

00:03:30.099 --> 00:03:33.360

00:03:33.360 --> 00:03:35.909
O community of believers,

00:03:35.909 --> 00:03:40.419
Our topic today is about the delight of the believers' eyes,

00:03:40.419 --> 00:03:42.889
And the ascension of the righteous.

00:03:42.889 --> 00:03:45.289
It is the firm pillar,

00:03:45.289 --> 00:03:48.889
The pillar of the religion and the foundation of the faith,

00:03:48.889 --> 00:03:51.169
And the salvation of those who act.

00:03:51.169 --> 00:03:55.020
It is salvation, security, and life.

00:03:55.039 --> 00:03:57.840
There is no share in Islam for one who abandons it.

00:03:57.840 --> 00:04:00.939
It is the prayer, O servants of Allah.

00:04:00.939 --> 00:04:03.500
But our topic today

00:04:03.500 --> 00:04:05.699
Is the reproach of a loved one

00:04:05.699 --> 00:04:08.800
To those who are late for prayer.

00:04:08.800 --> 00:04:11.840
Many, praise be to Allah, pray,

00:04:11.840 --> 00:04:14.639
And maintain it in the mosque,

00:04:14.639 --> 00:04:17.279
But our topic today

00:04:17.279 --> 00:04:19.680
Is the reproach of a loved one

00:04:19.680 --> 00:04:23.420
To those who are late for the congregational prayer.

00:04:23.480 --> 00:04:25.579
For in these times,

00:04:25.579 --> 00:04:28.300
Most worshipers have become accustomed

00:04:28.300 --> 00:04:30.939
To being late for the mosques,

00:04:30.939 --> 00:04:36.129
Often not arriving until the iqamah is called or after it.

00:04:36.129 --> 00:04:39.970
And frequently, they miss the prayer,

00:04:39.970 --> 00:04:41.769
Or a part of it.

00:04:41.769 --> 00:04:44.050
The prayer may be established

00:04:44.050 --> 00:04:46.920
While in some mosques

00:04:46.920 --> 00:04:49.399
There are only a few people,

00:04:49.399 --> 00:04:52.439
Then they arrive after the iqamah,

00:04:52.500 --> 00:04:54.500
And you see them forming several rows,

00:04:54.500 --> 00:04:59.259
Despite having waited for fifteen minutes or more after the adhan.

00:04:59.259 --> 00:05:01.259
This lateness

00:05:01.259 --> 00:05:04.939
Causes them to miss out on immense goodness.

00:05:04.939 --> 00:05:06.939
And here, O servants of Allah,

00:05:06.939 --> 00:05:08.939
Are some proofs

00:05:08.939 --> 00:05:11.730
Of what these people miss.

00:05:11.730 --> 00:05:13.350
First:

00:05:13.350 --> 00:05:16.029
The loss of tranquility and dignity.

00:05:16.029 --> 00:05:18.829
For it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him,

00:05:18.829 --> 00:05:22.370
That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:05:22.670 --> 00:05:24.670
"When you hear the iqamah,

00:05:24.670 --> 00:05:28.269
Walk with tranquility and dignity,

00:05:28.269 --> 00:05:30.269
And do not rush."

00:05:30.269 --> 00:05:32.269
Agreed upon.

00:05:32.269 --> 00:05:35.709
The rushing that many do

00:05:35.709 --> 00:05:38.949
Causes them to lose tranquility and dignity.

00:05:38.949 --> 00:05:40.949
Second:

00:05:40.949 --> 00:05:42.949
Missing the angels' seeking of forgiveness

00:05:42.949 --> 00:05:47.350
For one who waits for the prayer in the mosque before the iqamah,

00:05:47.350 --> 00:05:49.990
And his status as being in a state of prayer.

00:05:50.290 --> 00:05:52.769
For it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him,

00:05:52.769 --> 00:05:56.569
From the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

00:05:56.569 --> 00:05:58.819
"Indeed, one of you,

00:05:58.819 --> 00:06:01.620
When he performs wudu and does it well,

00:06:01.620 --> 00:06:03.620
And comes to the mosque,

00:06:03.620 --> 00:06:05.620
Desiring nothing but the prayer,

00:06:05.620 --> 00:06:07.620
He does not take a step

00:06:07.620 --> 00:06:10.620
But Allah raises him a degree thereby,

00:06:10.620 --> 00:06:12.620
And removes a sin from him.

00:06:12.620 --> 00:06:14.620
And when he enters the mosque,

00:06:14.620 --> 00:06:16.620
He is in a state of prayer

00:06:16.620 --> 00:06:18.620
As long as the prayer detains him,

00:06:19.000 --> 00:06:21.600
And the angels pray for him

00:06:21.600 --> 00:06:25.199
As long as he remains in his place where he prays,

00:06:25.199 --> 00:06:27.199
'O Allah, forgive him,

00:06:27.199 --> 00:06:29.199
O Allah, have mercy on him,'

00:06:29.199 --> 00:06:31.199
As long as he does not cause harm

00:06:31.199 --> 00:06:33.199
Or break his wudu therein,

00:06:33.199 --> 00:06:35.199
They say: 'O Allah, forgive him,

00:06:35.199 --> 00:06:37.199
O Allah, have mercy on him.'"

00:06:37.199 --> 00:06:39.199
Narrated by al-Bukhari.

00:06:39.199 --> 00:06:41.199
And in another narration:

00:06:41.199 --> 00:06:43.199
"One of you remains in a state of prayer

00:06:43.199 --> 00:06:45.199
As long as the prayer detains him;

00:06:45.199 --> 00:06:47.199
Nothing prevents him

00:06:47.779 --> 00:06:49.779
From returning to his family

00:06:49.779 --> 00:06:51.779
Except the prayer."

00:06:51.779 --> 00:06:53.779
Third:

00:06:53.779 --> 00:06:55.779
In being late,

00:06:55.779 --> 00:06:57.779
One usually misses the first row,

00:06:57.779 --> 00:06:59.779
Along with the virtue it contains.

00:06:59.779 --> 00:07:01.779
For the Prophet,

00:07:01.779 --> 00:07:03.779
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:07:03.779 --> 00:07:05.779
"If people knew

00:07:05.779 --> 00:07:07.779
What is in the call and the first row,

00:07:07.779 --> 00:07:09.779
And then they could find no other way

00:07:09.779 --> 00:07:11.779
But to draw lots for it,

00:07:11.779 --> 00:07:13.779
They would draw lots.

00:07:13.779 --> 00:07:15.779
And if they knew what is in the early arrival,

00:07:16.360 --> 00:07:18.360
Meaning arriving early,

00:07:18.360 --> 00:07:20.360
They would race to it."

00:07:20.360 --> 00:07:22.360
Agreed upon.

00:07:22.360 --> 00:07:24.360
And he, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:07:24.360 --> 00:07:26.360
"The best of the men's rows

00:07:26.360 --> 00:07:28.360
Is the first,

00:07:28.360 --> 00:07:30.360
And the worst is the last."

00:07:30.360 --> 00:07:32.360
Narrated by Muslim.

00:07:32.360 --> 00:07:34.360
Fourth:

00:07:34.360 --> 00:07:36.360
In being late, one usually

00:07:36.360 --> 00:07:38.360
Misses the opening takbir (takbirat al-ihram),

00:07:38.360 --> 00:07:40.360
And it is the best of the takbirs.

00:07:40.360 --> 00:07:42.360
He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:07:42.360 --> 00:07:44.360
"Whoever catches the opening takbir

00:07:44.939 --> 00:07:46.939
For forty days,

00:07:46.939 --> 00:07:48.939
An acquittal is written for him:

00:07:48.939 --> 00:07:50.939
An acquittal from the Fire,

00:07:50.939 --> 00:07:52.939
And an acquittal from hypocrisy."

00:07:52.939 --> 00:07:54.939
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi,

00:07:54.939 --> 00:07:56.939
And declared hasan by al-Albani.

00:07:56.939 --> 00:07:58.939
Fifth:

00:07:58.939 --> 00:08:00.939
This lateness

00:08:00.939 --> 00:08:02.939
Causes one to miss the regular Sunnah prayers

00:08:02.939 --> 00:08:04.939
That precede the obligatory ones,

00:08:04.939 --> 00:08:06.939
Such as the Sunnah of Fajr.

00:08:06.939 --> 00:08:08.939
Muslim narrated in his Sahih

00:08:08.939 --> 00:08:10.939
From our mother Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her,

00:08:10.939 --> 00:08:12.939
That the Prophet,

00:08:13.519 --> 00:08:15.519
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:08:15.519 --> 00:08:17.519
"The two rak'ahs of Fajr

00:08:17.519 --> 00:08:19.519
Are better than the world

00:08:19.519 --> 00:08:21.519
And everything in it."

00:08:21.519 --> 00:08:23.519
And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to

00:08:23.519 --> 00:08:25.519
Pray before Dhuhr

00:08:25.519 --> 00:08:27.519
Two rak'ahs,

00:08:27.519 --> 00:08:29.519
And sometimes four rak'ahs,

00:08:29.519 --> 00:08:31.519
As narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

00:08:31.519 --> 00:08:33.750
He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:08:33.750 --> 00:08:35.750
"Whoever prays

00:08:35.750 --> 00:08:37.750
Four before Dhuhr

00:08:37.750 --> 00:08:39.750
And four after it,

00:08:39.750 --> 00:08:41.750
Allah will forbid him from the Fire."

00:08:42.330 --> 00:08:44.330
And from Ibn Umar,

00:08:44.330 --> 00:08:46.330
He, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

00:08:46.330 --> 00:08:48.330
"May Allah have mercy on a person

00:08:48.330 --> 00:08:50.330
Who prays before Asr

00:08:50.330 --> 00:08:52.330
Four rak'ahs."

00:08:52.330 --> 00:08:54.330
So whoever is late

00:08:54.330 --> 00:08:56.330
Has deprived himself of this immense goodness.

00:08:56.330 --> 00:08:58.330
Sixth:

00:08:58.330 --> 00:09:00.330
This lateness

00:09:00.330 --> 00:09:02.330
Causes one to miss the time when supplications are answered,

00:09:02.330 --> 00:09:04.330
Which is the time between

00:09:04.330 --> 00:09:06.330
The adhan and the iqamah.

00:09:06.330 --> 00:09:08.330
For Abu Dawud narrated,

00:09:08.330 --> 00:09:10.330
And al-Tirmidhi, who declared it hasan,

00:09:10.909 --> 00:09:12.909
Before the Prophet, peace be upon him,

00:09:12.909 --> 00:09:14.909
said that the supplication

00:09:14.909 --> 00:09:16.909
is not rejected between

00:09:16.909 --> 00:09:18.909
the adhan and the iqamah.

00:09:18.909 --> 00:09:20.909
Seventh, many people

00:09:20.909 --> 00:09:22.909
miss what the latecomer misses:

00:09:22.909 --> 00:09:24.909
responding to the mu'adhdhin,

00:09:24.909 --> 00:09:26.909
and the supplication after the adhan.

00:09:26.909 --> 00:09:28.909
For responding to

00:09:28.909 --> 00:09:30.909
the mu'adhdhin with dhikr and sincerity,

00:09:30.909 --> 00:09:32.909
along with the prescribed supplication,

00:09:32.909 --> 00:09:34.909
is a cause for entering Paradise,

00:09:34.909 --> 00:09:36.909
as narrated by Muslim

00:09:36.909 --> 00:09:38.909
from 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him.

00:09:39.490 --> 00:09:41.490
Al-Bukhari also narrated

00:09:41.490 --> 00:09:43.490
from Jabir

00:09:43.490 --> 00:09:45.490
that the Prophet, peace be upon him,

00:09:45.490 --> 00:09:47.490
said when he heard the call:

00:09:47.490 --> 00:09:49.490
"O Allah, Lord of this perfect call

00:09:49.490 --> 00:09:51.490
and the established prayer,

00:09:51.490 --> 00:09:53.490
grant Muhammad the intercession and the excellence,

00:09:53.490 --> 00:09:55.490
and raise him to the praiseworthy station

00:09:55.490 --> 00:09:57.490
that You have promised him,"

00:09:57.490 --> 00:09:59.490
for whomsoever says this,

00:09:59.490 --> 00:10:01.490
intercession becomes due for him

00:10:01.490 --> 00:10:03.490
on the Day of Resurrection.

00:10:03.490 --> 00:10:05.490
Eighth, this delay

00:10:05.490 --> 00:10:07.490
may cause one to miss

00:10:08.070 --> 00:10:10.070
the congregational prayer.

00:10:10.070 --> 00:10:12.070
If he misses the final rak'ah,

00:10:12.070 --> 00:10:14.070
yet the congregational prayer

00:10:14.070 --> 00:10:16.070
is superior to the prayer of the individual

00:10:16.070 --> 00:10:18.070
by twenty-seven degrees.

00:10:18.070 --> 00:10:20.070
The two Shaykhs narrated

00:10:20.070 --> 00:10:22.070
from Ibn 'Umar,

00:10:22.070 --> 00:10:24.070
may Allah be pleased with them both,

00:10:24.070 --> 00:10:26.070
that the Messenger of Allah,

00:10:26.070 --> 00:10:28.070
peace be upon him, said:

00:10:28.070 --> 00:10:30.070
"The congregational prayer

00:10:30.070 --> 00:10:32.070
is better than the prayer of the individual

00:10:32.070 --> 00:10:34.070
by twenty-seven degrees."

00:10:34.070 --> 00:10:36.070
It was narrated by Muslim.

00:10:36.649 --> 00:10:38.649
Ninth, this delay

00:10:38.649 --> 00:10:40.649
may cause one to miss

00:10:40.649 --> 00:10:42.649
reaching the right side of the row,

00:10:42.649 --> 00:10:44.649
based on what is established from the Prophet,

00:10:44.649 --> 00:10:46.649
peace be upon him,

00:10:46.649 --> 00:10:48.649
regarding the virtue of praying on the right side

00:10:48.649 --> 00:10:50.649
of the row. For our mother,

00:10:50.649 --> 00:10:52.649
'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her,

00:10:52.649 --> 00:10:54.649
said that the Messenger of Allah,

00:10:54.649 --> 00:10:56.649
peace be upon him, said:

00:10:56.649 --> 00:10:58.649
"Indeed, Allah and His angels

00:10:58.649 --> 00:11:00.649
send blessings upon

00:11:00.649 --> 00:11:02.649
the right sides of the rows."

00:11:02.649 --> 00:11:04.649
Narrated by Abu Dawud.

00:11:05.230 --> 00:11:07.230
Tenth:

00:11:07.230 --> 00:11:09.230
Coming early to prayer

00:11:09.230 --> 00:11:11.230
and caring for it

00:11:11.230 --> 00:11:13.230
is evidence that

00:11:13.230 --> 00:11:15.230
the person is among those

00:11:15.230 --> 00:11:17.230
whose hearts are attached to the mosques.

00:11:17.230 --> 00:11:19.230
And at that time,

00:11:19.230 --> 00:11:21.230
he will be among those whom Allah shades

00:11:21.230 --> 00:11:23.230
on the Day of Resurrection in His shade,

00:11:23.230 --> 00:11:25.230
on a day when there is no shade but His.

00:11:25.230 --> 00:11:27.230
As is established

00:11:27.230 --> 00:11:29.230
in the authentic hadith:

00:11:29.230 --> 00:11:31.230
"Seven whom Allah will shade in His shade

00:11:31.230 --> 00:11:33.230
on a day when there is no shade but His,"

00:11:33.230 --> 00:11:35.230
and he mentioned among them:

00:11:35.230 --> 00:11:37.230
"A man whose heart is

00:11:37.230 --> 00:11:39.230
attached to the mosques."

00:11:39.230 --> 00:11:41.230
Eleventh:

00:11:41.230 --> 00:11:43.230
This delay

00:11:43.230 --> 00:11:45.230
causes one to miss engaging in dhikr, supplication,

00:11:45.230 --> 00:11:47.230
and reciting what is easy of the Qur'an.

00:11:47.230 --> 00:11:49.230
For the one who comes early

00:11:49.230 --> 00:11:51.230
to the mosque at the time of the adhan,

00:11:51.230 --> 00:11:53.230
or shortly thereafter,

00:11:53.230 --> 00:11:55.230
remains in the mosque

00:11:55.230 --> 00:11:57.230
for about an hour,

00:11:57.230 --> 00:11:59.230
or close to it,

00:11:59.230 --> 00:12:01.230
during the time of prayer, before it, and after it,

00:12:01.230 --> 00:12:03.230
drawing closer to Allah

00:12:03.230 --> 00:12:05.230
through various acts of worship,

00:12:05.230 --> 00:12:07.230
such as dhikr, supplication,

00:12:07.230 --> 00:12:09.230
reciting the Qur'an,

00:12:09.230 --> 00:12:11.230
listening to it,

00:12:11.230 --> 00:12:13.230
reflecting on His signs,

00:12:13.230 --> 00:12:15.230
being in seclusion with His remembrance,

00:12:15.230 --> 00:12:17.230
whispering to Him, and detaching

00:12:17.230 --> 00:12:19.230
from the world and its worries,

00:12:19.230 --> 00:12:21.230
so that this may be

00:12:21.230 --> 00:12:23.230
an incentive for turning

00:12:23.230 --> 00:12:25.230
toward the prayer and having khushu' (humility)

00:12:25.230 --> 00:12:27.549
in it. Unlike

00:12:27.549 --> 00:12:29.549
the latecomer, who

00:12:29.549 --> 00:12:31.549
turns to his prayer

00:12:31.549 --> 00:12:33.549
while his heart is preoccupied

00:12:33.549 --> 00:12:35.549
with his worries and sorrows,

00:12:35.549 --> 00:12:37.549
so he does not focus on his prayer,

00:12:37.549 --> 00:12:39.549
nor is his heart present in it.

00:12:39.549 --> 00:12:41.549
So let us strive, servants of Allah,

00:12:41.549 --> 00:12:43.549
let us strive for this

00:12:43.549 --> 00:12:45.549
goodness, for khushu'

00:12:45.549 --> 00:12:47.549
and tranquility

00:12:47.549 --> 00:12:49.549
are the soul and essence of prayer.

00:12:49.549 --> 00:12:51.549
So strive, O servant of Allah,

00:12:51.549 --> 00:12:53.549
to attend the congregation early

00:12:53.549 --> 00:12:55.549
in the house of Allah.

00:12:55.549 --> 00:12:57.549
For phones have preoccupied us

00:12:57.549 --> 00:12:59.549
from our prayer and wasted

00:12:59.549 --> 00:13:01.549
our time.

00:13:01.549 --> 00:13:03.549
As soon as you hear

00:13:03.549 --> 00:13:05.549
the call and the adhan:

00:13:05.549 --> 00:13:07.549
"Allah is the Greatest,"

00:13:07.549 --> 00:13:09.549
know that Allah is greater

00:13:09.549 --> 00:13:11.549
than everything,

00:13:11.549 --> 00:13:13.549
so do not put anything before Allah.

00:13:13.549 --> 00:13:15.549
By Allah, O servants of Allah,

00:13:15.549 --> 00:13:17.549
life is an opportunity.

00:13:17.549 --> 00:13:19.549
I swear by Allah the Almighty,

00:13:19.549 --> 00:13:21.549
if we were to ask someone in the grave

00:13:21.549 --> 00:13:23.549
who has been buried,

00:13:23.549 --> 00:13:25.549
"What do you wish for?"

00:13:25.549 --> 00:13:27.549
He would say, "To pray one rak'ah,

00:13:27.549 --> 00:13:29.549
or to say one tasbih,

00:13:29.549 --> 00:13:31.549
or to read one verse

00:13:31.549 --> 00:13:33.549
of the Qur'an,

00:13:33.549 --> 00:13:35.549
so that I might do a righteous deed

00:13:35.549 --> 00:13:37.549
for what I left behind."

00:13:37.549 --> 00:13:39.549
No, you are now, O servant of Allah,

00:13:39.549 --> 00:13:41.549
you are now in this world,

00:13:41.549 --> 00:13:43.549
so do righteous deeds to gain.

00:13:43.549 --> 00:13:45.549
We ask Allah to grant us success

00:13:45.549 --> 00:13:47.549
in the righteous deeds

00:13:47.549 --> 00:13:49.549
that please our Lord

00:13:49.549 --> 00:13:51.549
with us, to conclude our lives

00:13:51.549 --> 00:13:53.549
with goodness, and to grant us

00:13:53.549 --> 00:13:55.549
sincerity, devotion, and acceptance.

00:13:55.549 --> 00:13:57.549
O Allah, Amen.

00:13:57.549 --> 00:13:59.549
May Allah bless me and you

00:13:59.549 --> 00:14:01.549
with the Great Qur'an,

00:14:01.549 --> 00:14:03.549
and benefit me and you with what is in it.

00:14:03.549 --> 00:14:05.549
“This (which) We recite unto thee is a revelation and a wise reminder.” (3:58)

00:14:05.549 --> 00:14:07.549
I say what you hear,

00:14:07.549 --> 00:14:09.549
and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and for you,

00:14:09.549 --> 00:14:14.169
so seek His forgiveness,

00:14:14.169 --> 00:14:16.200
for how successful are those who seek forgiveness.

00:14:16.200 --> 00:14:18.200
Praise be to Allah for His benevolence,

00:14:18.200 --> 00:14:20.200
and thanks be to Him for His guidance

00:14:20.200 --> 00:14:22.200
and favor.

00:14:22.200 --> 00:14:24.200
I bear witness that there is no god but Allah,

00:14:24.200 --> 00:14:26.200
and may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.

00:14:26.200 --> 00:14:28.200
To proceed:

00:14:28.200 --> 00:14:30.519
Servants of Allah,

00:14:30.519 --> 00:14:32.519
there is no doubt that those who delay

00:14:32.519 --> 00:14:34.519
until they hear the iqamah,

00:14:34.519 --> 00:14:36.970
most of them

00:14:36.970 --> 00:14:38.970
are busy with

00:14:38.970 --> 00:14:40.970
nothing.

00:14:40.970 --> 00:14:43.000
So let us strive, O servants of Allah,

00:14:43.000 --> 00:14:45.000
for this goodness.

00:14:45.000 --> 00:14:47.000
If a person were to accustom himself

00:14:47.000 --> 00:14:49.000
to coming early to the mosque

00:14:49.000 --> 00:14:51.000
time after time,

00:14:51.000 --> 00:14:53.000
the matter would become easy for him,

00:14:53.000 --> 00:14:55.000
and it would become beloved to him,

00:14:55.000 --> 00:14:57.000
finding more delight in his sitting

00:14:57.000 --> 00:14:59.000
in the mosque

00:14:59.000 --> 00:15:01.000
than his delight

00:15:01.000 --> 00:15:03.000
with his family and children.

00:15:03.000 --> 00:15:05.000
So let us strive to come early

00:15:05.000 --> 00:15:07.000
so that we are not

00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:09.000
among those of whom the Prophet,

00:15:09.000 --> 00:15:11.000
peace be upon him, spoke.

00:15:11.000 --> 00:15:13.000
Listen, O servant of Allah,

00:15:13.000 --> 00:15:15.000
to this hadith,

00:15:15.000 --> 00:15:17.000
so that we are not

00:15:17.000 --> 00:15:19.000
among those of whom the Prophet,

00:15:19.000 --> 00:15:21.000
peace be upon him, spoke:

00:15:21.000 --> 00:15:23.000
The hadith narrated by Muslim in his Sahih:

00:15:23.000 --> 00:15:25.000
"A people will continue

00:15:25.000 --> 00:15:27.000
to delay

00:15:27.000 --> 00:15:29.000
until Allah delays them."

00:15:29.000 --> 00:15:31.000
So hasten, O servant of Allah,

00:15:31.000 --> 00:15:33.000
before you depart.

00:15:33.000 --> 00:15:35.000
It is true

00:15:35.000 --> 00:15:37.000
that you are upon great goodness,

00:15:37.000 --> 00:15:39.000
that you are praying,

00:15:39.000 --> 00:15:41.000
and secondly, that you are praying in the mosque,

00:15:41.000 --> 00:15:43.000
but the believer

00:15:43.000 --> 00:15:45.000
is not satisfied with anything but more

00:15:45.000 --> 00:15:47.000
goodness.

00:15:47.000 --> 00:15:49.000
So strive for this great goodness.

00:15:49.000 --> 00:15:51.000
We ask Allah the Almighty

00:15:51.000 --> 00:15:53.000
to grant us success in every

00:15:53.000 --> 00:15:55.000
deed He loves and is pleased with,

00:15:55.000 --> 00:15:57.000
And may He make us

00:15:57.000 --> 00:15:59.000
among those with whom He is pleased and who are pleased with Him.

00:15:59.000 --> 00:16:01.000
O Allah, forgive

00:16:01.000 --> 00:16:03.000
our sins and conceal our faults,

00:16:03.000 --> 00:16:05.000
and accept our repentance,

00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:07.000
and conclude our deeds with righteousness.

00:16:07.000 --> 00:16:09.000
O Allah, we ask You for Your pleasure

00:16:09.000 --> 00:16:11.000
and for Paradise, and we seek refuge in You

00:16:11.000 --> 00:16:13.000
from Your wrath and from the Fire.

00:16:13.000 --> 00:16:15.000
O Allah, rectify our intentions

00:16:15.000 --> 00:16:17.000
and our offspring.

00:16:17.000 --> 00:16:19.000
O Allah, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor,

00:16:19.000 --> 00:16:21.000
O Allah, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor,

00:16:21.000 --> 00:16:23.000
we love You,

00:16:23.000 --> 00:16:25.000
so do not withhold from us, because of our sins,

00:16:25.000 --> 00:16:27.000
Your bounty; O Allah, grant us security

00:16:27.000 --> 00:16:29.000
in our homelands,

00:16:29.000 --> 00:16:31.000
and rectify our leaders and those in authority over us,

00:16:31.000 --> 00:16:33.000
and grant victory to our soldiers at the borders,

00:16:33.000 --> 00:16:35.000
and grant victory to our oppressed brothers and sisters

00:16:35.000 --> 00:16:37.000
everywhere.

00:16:37.000 --> 00:16:39.000
O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer,

00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:41.000
just as You have gathered us in this place,

00:16:41.000 --> 00:16:43.000
gather us in the highest level of Paradise

00:16:43.000 --> 00:16:45.000
with our Prophet and our beloved,

00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:47.000
peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

00:16:47.000 --> 00:16:49.000
and his noble Companions,

00:16:49.000 --> 00:16:51.000
and our parents and those we love.

00:16:51.000 --> 00:16:53.000
O Allah, overlook our shortcomings,

00:16:53.000 --> 00:16:55.000
forgive the sins that You have concealed,

00:16:55.000 --> 00:16:57.000
and erase the evil deeds,

00:16:57.000 --> 00:16:59.000
those known to people and those known only to You.

00:16:59.000 --> 00:17:01.000
O Allah, You know

00:17:01.000 --> 00:17:03.000
our faults, so conceal them;

00:17:03.000 --> 00:17:05.000
You know our deeds, so accept them;

00:17:05.000 --> 00:17:07.000
and You know our needs, so fulfill them,

00:17:07.000 --> 00:17:09.000
O Fulfiller of needs.

00:17:09.000 --> 00:17:11.000
O Lord, forgive our fathers

00:17:11.000 --> 00:17:13.000
and our mothers,

00:17:13.000 --> 00:17:15.000
and our brothers and sisters,

00:17:15.000 --> 00:17:17.000
and all the Muslims.

00:17:17.000 --> 00:17:19.000
O Allah, whoever among them is alive,

00:17:19.000 --> 00:17:21.000
bless them with health and well-being

00:17:21.000 --> 00:17:23.000
in obedience to You,

00:17:23.000 --> 00:17:25.000
and whoever among them is dead,

00:17:25.000 --> 00:17:27.000
O Allah, reward them

00:17:27.000 --> 00:17:29.000
for their good deeds with further goodness,

00:17:29.000 --> 00:17:31.000
and for their evil deeds with pardon and forgiveness.

00:17:31.000 --> 00:17:33.000
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.

00:17:33.000 --> 00:17:35.000
We have called upon You, our Lord,

00:17:35.000 --> 00:17:37.000
as You have commanded us,

00:17:37.000 --> 00:17:39.000
so answer us as You have promised us.

00:17:39.000 --> 00:17:41.000
“Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)” (37:180)

00:17:41.000 --> 00:17:43.000
And peace be upon the messengers,

00:17:43.000 --> 00:17:45.000
and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
